When I arrived there in December, I took over all their insurance claims. 75% of those claims had more than 6mos of inactivity or contact with the clients. When the clients who didn't move forward after I reached out to them, I was directed to charge them a 20% cancellation fee which I absolutely refused as it isn't the clients' fault.Whenever I needed something from Management, it was never done on time or sometimes not at all. They have some good sales people but the Operations Manager Eliseo is horrible with communication, follow-up, and managing. I hired two people for canvassing and neither received their pay on time or correctly. I became so disillusioned with the company that I gave up. They fired me due to "performance issues" and instead of giving me my Direct Deposit, they issued me a check for the company phone in return. A week after I cashed my final check I received an email stating that the check bounced and that I owe an additional NSF fee. Now that I'm trying to get this resolved with them I have no response from anyone at the company. Severely disappointing and infuriating.I implore you to not do business with these people. I can't begin to express how disappointing my experience with A1 Roofing was. I initially chose them based on a friend's recommendation, but that was a mistake. It started off with a free estimate that quickly turned into a pushy sales pitch—felt like I was buying a used car rather than simply getting an estimate! Despite that, I decided to move forward, hoping for a smooth process. Boy, was I wrong. The project manager was consistently dishonest throughout the entire process. They promised quick follow-ups and a start date in October, but we didn’t even get started until the third week of November. Every time I reached out, I was told it would be "just a few more days." After weeks of waiting, I began to lose trust. Once the project was finally "completed," the issues didn’t end there. The project manager claimed the entire list of unfinished items had been addressed, but when I went up to check myself, I found five things still not completed. The last part of the project was the installation of a rain gutter, which turned into a long waiting game. I was told for weeks that it was still being fabricated, only to later learn that the crew responsible for installing it was backed up. After weeks of waiting, I just asked them to forget the gutter and send me a final "paid in full" invoice. I had to ask a dozen times, but never received the "paid in full" invoice. Meanwhile, their accounting department was quick to send me invoices at every stage of the project, but when it came time to resolve issues, no one seemed to care or take responsibility. I even tried contacting other people in the company for help—no luck there either. Management is unresponsive, and even the salesperson couldn't get his boss to respond. I will give credit where it's due—the crew that did the actual work were hardworking and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The project manager’s dishonesty and the lack of communication and accountability from the company made this a frustrating and exhausting experience. Based on my experience and the C+ BBB rating, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Less

I verified the company was Malarkey-certified, a registered contractor (ROC), and in good standing with the BBB. They had both positive online reviews and some televised community events. On the start day, Project Manager Aiden was onsite and the three-man crew led by Carlos were punctual and methodically replaced the roof underlayment, shingles, some rotted fascia and plywood. They removed and retained the existing metal wraparound and gutter too. Workers cleaned up the yard daily. I value quality over quickness so preferred this crew's three-day project timetable over a job done by many guys in just hours. The initial project startup slipped several weeks and the front office too often lacked timely or responsive communication. Patience and persistence were, frustratingly, required at times. Thus, room to improve. Still, I appreciate the labor of the roofing team and also the Ops Director, Eliseo, who addressed a follow-up fix. There are a lot of crappy companies out there today that will do their utmost to just get it done and get paid. A1 felt different. They were amazing at communication, were super prompt, and got the job done quickly and well. I think I was most impressed by the communication and follow up by Aaron - so helpful to just have someone to talk to to get a problem like this solved.
