It’s been almost a year since I first got into contact with cornerstone k9 and I feel like I’m finally ready to talk about my poor experience now that I have a new dog that I would never even consider using this company for which I definitely will be hiring a trainer so just shows how much I don’t want to work with them. When I contacted cornerstone k9 it was to do the 2 week puppy package and said my puppy learns commands very quickly so mostly he needs to work on holding those commands, finish potty training and most importantly not jump. They said no problem and I would be working with Jeff the owner and Chris who works out of their main facility. First switch up I received was that I would be working with Gina instead (who wasn’t even listed as one of the companies trainers). While my dog was at his board and train I started to feel uneasy about some of the updates I was getting regarding potty training including that he had 2 accidents in the crate because she left him too long. And then also the attached photo about potty training. Teaching a 5 month old dog to be potty trained is a training they should be able to do and said they’d be able to do when I initially contacted instead of then being told we just need to watch them. EVERY actual potty trained dog knows how to notify their human they want to go out. When I did get him back at the drop off they have a session and I didn’t even know what to say when they dropped him off because he didn’t even listen to her during that with the commands and the jumping was still so bad. I was so disheartened that it took me a few days but I contacted back with all my concerns that progressed into having Jeff come to my house and he want listening to him either so they took him back for a week. In that week I’d say he did come home being able to hold commands better but I was provided this video where you can see Jeff coaching Gina on how to train. If my dog was going to be the guinea pig to teach Gina to become a trainer I should have been made aware because I paid for a top tier trainer. As for the jumping they said they worked on having him in a place command before people entered the room to work on jumping. That doesn’t help him not jump people are coming and going from my house and I take my dog out in public I wanted my dog not to jump on people and they said they could but their version of that isn’t teaching him not to jump but to have him on a place command that’s not realistic and asking a trainer to help a dog know not to jump isn’t an unrealistic ask. Eventually the conversation got so heated that I was put in contact with the manager Megan to introduce him to an off leash training collar. I don’t have a bad experience with Megan but also my dog is over 1 years old and still jumps on anyone that walks in the door. During training I just got a lot of “well he’s just a puppy” but why have a puppy program if you don’t expect a puppy to retain that. I did a lot of research and read a lot of google reviews before selecting this company so this is for the 20 something year old doing the same. I have completely trained my dog to be off leash with recall but the basics this company was supposed to teach are still issues like jumping he definitely does on anyone in my house and he tries out in public but prong collar, he will pull me on leash without his prong collar, and of course he’s potty trained now but they didn’t really do anything to help with that. I can’t vouch for any of the other programs but the puppy program is a joke. Less

I highly recommend using Cornerstone K9 for your dog training needs. They had my mini bernedoodle for 3 weeks and he came back a well behaved and trained boy. I appreciate how they trained me as well so I could continue the good behaviors he learned while there.

He came back a new puppy, with manners on walks that he did not have prior to his board and train program at Cornerstone. Jeff, the owner of the company, opted to train Azrael himself, rather than have one of his other trainers complete the program. At the end of the program, Jeff consulted with me and answered a plethora of questions along with offering insight to my dog's specific needs. Azrael came home with some new equipment, and health supplements from Jeff to get him started off right so he grows up big and strong, while staying lean and healthy. Jeff trained with me and Azrael in our home environment and our neighborhood, tackling some specific issues that arose as we walked to the dog park. At the end of the drop off training, I was armed with knowledge and confidence that I could keep up with Azrael's training, since Jeff worked so hard these past weeks to set him up for success. Azrael was a bit sad to see his adopted family/trainer leave after the drop off training session. I hope to visit Sanford to start participating in other training programs soon, and I have the off-leash program on my list of next upcoming programs for Azrael. High drive breeds need more than a walk through the neighborhood, and Jeff knows the limitless potential can turn to destructive energy if you aren't consistent and if you don't use the right tools for the job. If you want a well behaved puppy/dog, even if you have a challenging breed, Cornerstone K9 should be your first stop. In my honest opinion, this is a good investment if you have a rowdy pup, I sent my 7 month old beagle mix for their 3-week boarding program and when she came back I could see a major difference in her behavior. Although we have a few kinks to work out, with her constant training at home she’s been able to listen a lot better and understand commands!

Buckeye was just a baby when he spent two weeks with Katlyn. Only 6 months old. She helped him to focus, walk better on a leash, sit and down on command and eat his food. He was not a good eater as a pup. We were very pleased with all that Buckeye learned while with Katlyn.

Cornerstone was great. Breanna came to my house for training sessions, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and was able to plan around my busy work schedule. I chose Cornerstone because I trusted them to know how to handle my GSD, and they were great. Would definitely recommend for GSDs or similar.

Always happy to leave our pups with anyone at cornerstone for training or boarding. When boarding it’s nice to know that their training will be upheld and they will be in an environment that has the same rules they would have at home.

We LOVE Megan, and CornerstoneK9! We have been once for the on leash and again for off leash training once our pup was a little older.

I was amazed at how more manageable my Kyro was when Chris brought him him from his training. Very professional, he kept on communication with me and shared pictures/ videos of his progress.

I got a brand new trainer to the company. He was great and spent extra time with my dog, but she did not have the off leash commands she was supposed to have when her training ended. Overall, it was a good experience, but I feel I only got about 80% of what I paid for.

My dog developed some aggressive traits and I sent him off to Megan for a 4 week training course. He came home so much better than before and she was able to teach me all the exercises and tools to set him up for success. It was also extremely helpful because whenever I had a question on things, she was available via text within just an hour or so and we could schedule a phone call if needed.

We had a great experience with K9 -- and their trainer Karissa, in particular -- when we boarded our 3 dogs with them on short notice. My husband and I had a great experience with our puppy Pepper! My husband is disabled from an accident and our main goal was for her to follow commands to help improve his safety around our home. When Pepper arrived home she was like a new dog! She listens very well and has even stopped chewing on our walls (which was an added bonus)! Karissa was Sky's training. Sky is a Belgian Malinois and very active. Karissa worked K9 units in the Air Force so it was a perfect fit for us. Sky came back to us on Sunday and been working with her everyday on what she was taught. No issues with other dogs, ducks, squirrels, etc. Love it Thank you Karissa.

From start to finish I had a wonderful experience. Denali was picked up from the house and brought home 3 weeks later a super happy pup. Nikko seemed to be unbreakable when it comes to healing, but Jeff and his staff were able to get him to walk well on the leash despite all of his energy. Oh man - where to start? While I'm sure that everyone's idea of aggressive is different, it was enough of a moment for me that I knew I needed more professional help than the bits and pieces of training I have picked up through the years - I felt our situation was well above my paygrade. I knew we were heading the wrong direction. I scoured the web for a trainer that did board and training, read every review I could find, and I'm *so*happy we found CornerstoneK9! Jeff and Chris were out to visit us within 24 hours of me making contact with their website. They sat with us for a couple of hours patiently answering all of our questions about what they would be able to help our Teddy work through. We agreed to doing one week of reactivity training along with 3 weeks of off-leash training. Teddy worked with the owner, Jeff. Jeff posted videos on Instagram, sent us pictures and kept in touch the entire time! Jeff was responsive to this overbearing dog-mom's every text which was greatly appreciated. Not in the way that he lived on his phone (what a relief - I loved knowing he stayed busy with the dogs instead), but I never felt ignored or like I was being too much (and I absolutely was😉)! Teddy has only been back home with us 24 hours and I already feel like we have a much more confident, obedient dog. Upon drop off, Jeff and Haylie made sure we had a gentle crash-course in what teddy has learned in his 4 weeks at training. The best thing they did that calmed our fears of forgetting everything they taught us on his drop-off, is that they have extended their refresher services, AT NO COST, for the life of our dog. I’m very happy with the dog training our Mal received at Cornerstone K9. She was very nervous and scared of everything. When she came back from Jeff and Erica, she had a lot more confidence. Definitely a game changer with my GSD. The owner was very thorough in explaining to me the training that my GSD would receive and he took the time to answer all of my questions.
