VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY EXPERIENCE. All they care about is getting paid and getting paid the way they want - out of pocket... As an athlete, I have been going to a chiropractor off and on my entire life and I have always enjoyed my experience and the treatments have always helped relieve my aches and pains. I have never had a reason to leave a bad review, until now. I was in a car accident in Colorado Springs this past August (2017) and immediately following that accident I received X-rays along with adjustments from two separate offices in CO and ABQ New Mexico and I had no problem getting my treatments paid for through my PI (personal injury) claim with USAA. My family and I recently moved to TN this past Thanksgiving and after the stress and hassle of moving across the country during the Holidays and after such a horrible accident, I was definitely needing to find a good chiropractor. This office looked good on paper so I called to schedule an appointment and I was reassured several times that the initial appointment would be free and that I would be able to receive an adjustment that day. However, once I was in the office they started explaining that only the introduction conversation with Dr. Wootton was free and that if I wanted to be treated there, that day, that I would need to pay upfront and out of pocket for an initial exam (around $100) and X-rays. I explained to them that I had already had X-rays taken and that I was not going to pay for an additional set (especially not out of pocket) and that I would get all of my previous records and X-rays sent to them. I gave the front desk all of the insurance claim information along with the names and numbers of the offices who had my records in CO and NM trusting that WFC would know how to acquire those records and then WFC told me that they would contact me once they had everything they needed and we would schedule and appointment from there. So, I left with only a free conversation and still in a lot of pain.....well, almost a whole week goes by (which is ridiculous) and no phone call from WFC. So, I call THEM to see what the hold up was and they told me that they had everything they needed except my X-rays. After a few calls on my end (not theirs, mind you) it was determined that it was going to take too much time to receive my X-rays from CO and I was in too much pain to wait any longer. I agreed to get another set taken at WFC under my PI claim and we scheduled an appointment for that next week. I show up to the office expecting X-rays to be taken and to receive a much needed adjustment but once I was back with Dr. Wootton he told me that they were unable to get a green light from my insurance company (in terms of collecting payment) and that, once again, I needed to pay up front and out of pocket for treatment and then turn my receipts into my insurance company and request reimbursement after the fact. Again, I told him that I would NOT pay out of pocket and then hassle with trying to collect reimbursement from the insurance only to have him respond by saying, and I quote, "...my office does not want to hassle with the insurance company for reimbursement either..." I asked him why I was not told about this issue with the insurance company BEFORE scheduling an appointment and wasting my time, again, only to be met with no answer. Totally shocked, I left the office extremely upset and was determined to do their job for them in contacting the insurance company to find out what the issue was. After only a few short phone calls, I was told by USAA that they had never denied my treatments with WFC and that they were also confused as to why this office was claiming to have a difficulty in getting ahold of them and told me that they would call the office immediately to tell them that my treatments were covered by USAA. (I wonder if WFC even tried contacting the insurance company or if they were just hoping I'd eventually get sick of the run around and just give in and pay out of pocket????�) I decided right then and there that I was not going back to WFC regardless. Hours later, I receive a call from WFC telling me that yes they had gotten everything squared away with the insurance company but that they do not (all of a sudden) handle PI claims with USAA and that they were referring me to another doctor who handles PI claims/cases and that they wanted me to come pick up my records the next day. I did not argue or question their reasoning simply b/c I knew at this point, it did not matter and that this office was only interested in the money side of their business, not going the extra mile for the patient. Bottom line, if you're not willing to pay right then and there and out of pocket, this office will give you the run around for weeks while delaying treatment. I have always known chiropractors to truly care for their patients and be willing to do whatever is necessary to help and treat a patient but that is absolutely not the case with this office. I will not be recommending this office to anyone and I strongly suggest that you seek treatment outside of this office. Less

I have back problems from a wreck 15 years ago and I get locked up a few times a year. I've only been to a chiropractor once in my life, about 10 years ago, and I'm not big on pain relievers or muscle relaxers, I usually just grit my teeth and bear through it, but this time was worse. When I went to Dr Wootton, I could barely turn my neck without a sharp pain in my spine. I received the consultation, exam, and x-rays on day one, but they wanted me to return with my wife for a second consultation. That's alot to ask when you have 3 year old twins. The second visit they went over the exam and x-rays and diagnosed me with a compressed disk in my upper back/neck. Then came the talk about about money. They wanted to do daily adjustments for a week, then 3 a day, then weekly. They lumped the 2 adjustments that came with the Groupon into the scheduled adjustments, and subtracted that cost. They wanted me to pay up front, set up a payment plan, or apply for credit for the amount of all the combined adjustments. I was told I had not met my insurance deductible for the year, so the cost was all out of pocket. I did the math when I got home and the price I was given far exceeded what my insurance charges me to see a specialist, even before the deductible is met. I pay a percentage towards the deductible each visit. They made me feel like they wouldn't help me until I agreed on a form of payment and put money towards it. I've been in the medical field for almost 12 years. When a patient presents to a medical professional with a problem, the practitioner should offer them some form of relief, if they're capable. My first visit, I was seen by 2 chiropractors and they could see that I could barely move and that too much movement caused pain. My second visit, 2 days later, I was still locked up and in pain. I was seen twice and only offered relief if I paid up front, I didn't even receive the 2 adjustments that came with the Groupon since they lumped it into the treatment plan. I will say the staff is extremely friendly and personable. The ladies at the desk kept our kids entertained while my wife and I met with the Dr, but overall I'm very disappointed with the experience and almost 2 weeks later I'm still stiff and in pain.
