Her piano students are amazing (made me regret quitting piano), kids as young as 6 are singing with a band that is just unbelievable (as good as the well known local cover bands), some kids chose to sing with only DeAnna playing the piano, well it all was just so entertaining to watch. I heard disco songs, rock, country, theater, slow songs and watching DeAnna and the band perform was really unbelievable. I couldn't get over her voice and just the overall performance! I'm taking lessons to keep my voice in check and continue to improve stylistically, so clearly I needed a vocal coach that could not only truly teach all genres but also SING all genres. I spent a lot of time calling, meeting and vetting vocal coaches (8 to be exact) in not only STL county but also neighboring counties. I respected the teachers that admitted they could not teach all genres because they had never really performed anything other than classical, adult contemporary or musical theater. But then there were ones that CLAIMED to teach all genres when they themselves had never really performed anything other than classical, wedding songs, musical theater, had never been the lead vocalist in a band or had just recently opened a studio. Unfortunately, claiming to teach all genres is all they can do. All genres is not something you just decide to teach - it takes years of experience actually singing the styles to perfect the inflections and even more years to have the skill, know how and body voice connection to teach it. I vetted a few teachers that, in hindsight, seem to be desperately trying to copy Deanna's business model - which I'm sure Deanna gets a lot - but bottom line.....don't settle for second best. Deanna is a seasoned pro and the knowledge that she has about genres, styling, and technique is some of the most innovative and original I've ever experienced. She can teach country, jazz, blues, rock, pop, musical theater, indie.....because she can sing it all. I truly did not think I could find a vocal coach in the STL area that could teach me something I didn't already know, but Deanna does every single lesson. Deanna is in high demand (I was on a waiting list for a bit) and there's a reason for that. She's just the best. Do not settle. Less

Our other two older children have also taken piano from Deanna (about 5 years) - and one (our oldest son) is now a music leader at our church. She's also given him vocal instruction as well as music audition coaching for college scholarships. Hands down, her teaching style makes learning music fun, no matter how old or young the student.
