I worked with Kari for the birth of my first son in May 2020. Choosing to work with Kari was primarily my husband's idea. I was confident I could just birth the babe in a field haha but he wanted great medical care and was a bit iffy about a home birth. However, after speaking to Kari he was on board. We selected Kari because we trusted her experience and knowledge for the off chance there was a medical emergency. My husband didn't want someone who was going to try and heal me & the babe with "fairy dust & cinnamon" he wanted someone who would ask my consent to administer "western" meds and call 911 / EMS if something went sideways. We did have a small hemorrhage scare and Kari handled it calmly and swiftly. I can't guarantee other midwives in town would have been able to do the same thing. We were super happy with Kari and I'd recommend her to anyone looking to have a beautiful birth experience. As a first time mom, leveraging her for general parenting and child care advice was invaluable as well! Less

She covered every possible scenario, and made us aware of all of our options (environmental, medical, etc.) during pregnancy, the delivery, as well as postpartum.
