I brought in my care to Dave’s in October of last year, I informed the tech about a shudder/rattling noise coming from the car. The tech informed me they replicated the noise and found a solution. They charged me $462.41 for spark plugs and told me the issue was resolved. When I picked up the car I drove 5 minutes down the road and the noise re appears. I immediately turned around and spoke with the tech, he got in the car with me and wright as I got the car over 30mph the noise was apparent. The tech told me he would take a look at the car for free and then a day later told me my transmission might need to be changed to resolve the issue. When I voiced how unhappy I was with the service Dave reached out and offered $200 off the service, when I voiced I didn’t trust his techs and would not like to continue doing business with him (also threatened to leave a bad review, he said well I guess I can give you a $200 check, I told him I needed to decide if I weather I was gonna take a huge leap of faith and get the work done or sell the car and take the $200 check he said “okay” after a couple months of getting low offers I decided to take it to my trusted mechanic in Leander. My mechanic told me it was a very simple fix, he charged me $50 for diagnostics and $250 for parts and labor. Low and behold the issue was resolved. So I reached out to Dave in February for the check he offered me, then I reached out again in April from my work phone in case he blocked me, too no surprise he didint respond. I wanted to leave this review then but wanted to give him the Benifit of the doubt and hope he would get back to me, after 6 months no response. I reached out again Wednesday. He said “ Hey Austen, yeah this was 10 months ago. I'll credit you $200 towards any repair. But to sell the car that's in question and want a check afterwards is kind of wild. Let me know if I can help. Thanks.” You can read the rest of our messages from there. I would not recommend any work done by Dave or his tech or trust him to fulfill his satisfaction guarantee. He is not a man of his word and then wants to blame others after he won’t hold up to the agreements he made.

David has worked on several of my vehicles over the years, and I honestly wish he were still close by. He is the kind of mechanic everyone hopes to find: trustworthy, honest, reliable, and committed to doing quality work. I always felt comfortable knowing my vehicles were in good hands with him. I would like to say Thank you to Dave’s Kyle Auto & Diesel Repair‼️🙌🏼 If you are looking for an affordable and trustworthy automotive business, i totally recommend Dave’s. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and a check in light. I was offered a tire rotation which was included with the oil change. They did a free diagnostic to see what caused my check engine to come on. They called me and also showed me a pic of what they found wrong. It was a matter of connecting a hose that had come loose. Thank you Dave’s for being honest and not taking advantage of customers 🫶🏼
