One of the best gym close to downtown. i have been a member here for more than a year and i have seen pretty good growth in my fitness journey. I've now done a few classes at Crossfit Sunalta. It's been fantastic! Great group of people. The workout pushed me to my max, but you can scale it back if you want. I have come back to CrossFit after a LONG hiatus just over a month ago. At CrossFit Sunalta the coaches are great and each movement is explained ever time it’s in a work out. You aren’t expected to do every work out and movement as prescribed and there is always guidance as to how scale a workout to your ability! It’s a great community of coaches and athletes and I am glad to have joined it!

I’ve known Calder since high school and the guy has always been super knowledgeable when it comes to health and fitness. He’s also a super bubbly guy whose energy and charisma just brings anyone’s energy up. Great inclusive downtown CrossFit gym! The gym staff are all very friendly and welcoming to people of all fitness levels, if you are lucky you might meet the gym dog Harvey! My first CrossFit gym! Very beginner friendly. The coaches are professional and friendly (Greg is my fav, he is awesome). A very nice community! The washroom is always clean and provides with women products which I find that’s super sweet!

CFS is a great place to be over all! Great coaches, great atmosphere and I have also done personal training with Calder. He’s a great guy with a ton of knowledge. You can tell he he is actually interested in your well being and progress. I highly recommend for PT or classes.

Awesome CrossFit box. Large space, friendly members and equipment is in good condition. Convenient 1 min walk from the CTrain. The owners are super engaged and continuously trying to improve.

My experience in this gym has been amazing. The staff is super professional, and the environment is welcoming. There is a sense of community that helps a lot with motivation. I was recovering from a surgery, and after one a half month of training I was back in the rugby pitch feeling strong again. 100% recommended.

I've been going here for about 5 years now, excluding when it was shut down for covid. I met my fiancé and some new friends here. The coaches are amazing and the community is very welcoming. I highly recommend it for CrossFitters of all skill levels, including first-timers.

Crossfit Sunalta has been an incredible experience for me. Not only do I love the classes, trainers and programming, but the community has been incredibly welcoming, fun, and kind. CrossFit Sunalta a great gym with a very welcoming atmosphere. I was completely new to CrossFit and quite intimidated, but the instructors and other participants are extremely helpful and supportive. The workouts take into consideration that people are coming from all levels of fitness and ability, so you'll work hard but you aren't expected to match people who are more experienced.

I am new to CrossFit Sunalta but already feel very comfortable with the club. After a number of months in the covid-19 lack of motivation haze, I was drawn to the wholistic program offered at CrossFit Sunalta; exercise, nutrition and accountability. I love this gym! I have been really out of shape since COVID, so I was really worried about starting a new gym, but the trainer gave me a lot of tips on how I could manage workouts at my own pace. There was no pressure for me to do anything I couldn't manage.

Their website is extremely difficult to navigate. I finally managed to register myself for a walk through. I have never heard of a gym asking you to come all the way down there, and then not be able to workout. I also managed to register for a class later that day. When I arrived I was told that I could not participate in the class because I had never done CrossFit before. Which I found frustrating because I had already paid for the class and was looking forward to the workout. The woman (who is one of the owners) explained that you have to jump through so many hoops before you are allowed to attend a class. She then proceeded to ask a string of questions, all the while with a rude over tone. She asked "well, what do you know about crossfit?" I responded that I saw their Olympic Rings while walking past and that was what encouraged me to come in. She then asked "Are you even active"? "Do you play any sports"? To which I responded, I kick-box 5-7 days a week. I should have asked for a refund at this point. I struggle with my body image, I am naturally quite lean, and I have always been embarrassed about how thin I am. I felt put down by her line of questioning, like I was too skinny to workout there. Yesterday Jason Kenny announced the 2 week lockdown protocol. This coupled with my previous bad experience compelled me to request for a refund and indefinitely not continue with Crossfit Sunalta. I sent a text to Jp (the other owner of the facility) explaining that I wanted to limit my exposure to new people, thus I did not want to commit to a new fitness regiment at this time, and asked for a refund. He completely glazed over my request for refund, and messaged me asking to have a phone conversation about their covid 19 protocols and my fitness goals. I sent multiple messages, being very explicit about wanting a refund, which were ignored. I finally got through to him via a phone call, I will be getting a refund within the next few days. If you would like to be body shamed, made to jump through a thousand flaming hoops backwards, made to feel confused and upset, and then blatantly disregarded, you have found the right place! Spacious and clean gym. Staff is really organized and keep the classes highly motivated. Start crossfit can be challenge (and overwhelming) but for sure worth it in a place that has strong foundation and a very supportive team .

Great community, and coaching. New owners are much better than previous. There's an investment in making the community and space better as opposed to short term profit driven decisions

Great facility with the variety of equipment and work out stations. It's clean, spacious, and located literally steps to Ctrain station. The coaches are very knowledgeable and friendly and you feel welcome the moment you step into the door! I highly recommend Sunalta CrossFit for all your work outs!

A great place to go and get active! A non intimidating environment with coaches that really care about the people who are there. They take the time to teach you a lot of the movements and stress proper technique. Friendly people and a well organized and clean environment really encourages me to keep going.
