Thank you for granting my Uncle’s wish to remain comfortable at home during his last days. The hospice also provided great care and comfort to all our family members. We are forever grateful to this hospice for helping out our family during this emotional difficult time.
My mother, Linda, was with Hospice Care of the Valley for a little over a year. From day one they did everything they could to get my mom's room set up, they had her bed delivered the next day and had all of her medications delivered that day too. My mother, Linda, was with Hospice Care of the Valley for a little over a year. From day one they did everything they could to get my mom's room set up, they had her bed delivered the next day and had all of her medications delivered that day too. During our time with HCOV we never spoke to a machine a real person answered the phone no matter what time I called. I cant say enough good things about them. They were there for my mom until the very end and when i got scared, they sent someone over to help me too. Thank you Maggie, Jhewel and everyone at HCOV, you were all wonderful !!! Less
Of all of the care my Dad received his hospice care was the very best. Amazingly they helped me too. Even after his passing they keep in touch with me. Outside of my family no one else has done that. I highly recommend them for any one who needs this type of service.
Hospice Care of the Valley is such a great organization. Being that they are a family owned company allows them to give the personal care that you want for your loved ones. I was amazed to find out that they do not even have answering machines as they are committed to having a live person answer your call. I am so happy to report that the hospice care given to my Mother during her final weeks was top notch. The nursing care was excellent, reliable, and highly skilled. My Mother was treated extremely well and her suffering was minimized by the nurses's concern for her well-being. I flew from Washington DC to LAX on February 14 when I heard my Mother was not doing well. My sister picked me up at the airport and we were driving to see her when my sister's cell phone rang. Since my sister was driving I answered the phone. It was the hospice nurse who informed me that our Mother was about to die. We were about 40 minutes away and she suggested that I tell my Mother on the speakerphone that we were en route to see her. I did that but 10 minutes later we received another call from the hospice nurse that our Mother had passed away. When we arrived at the West Hills Care Home we met the hospice nurse at the door and she was very kind to us as she let us in the house. We spent some time with our Mother in her room with the door closed. When we emerged we learned that the mortuary had been contacted and arrangements had been made for them to pick up the body. We were very impressed with the conduct of the Mortuary attendants. When they arrived they explained who they were and were sympathetic for our loss. They were also very kind and very professional. I watched as they wrapped my Mother's body and placed her in a bag. Their actions resembled a choreographed dance and made the experience much easier to witness. When they left we felt they had performed their task perfectly, with precision and heart. Pastor Manny called me recently when I was back in DC to ask me how I was doing. I was surprised that he called but very happy to speak with him. He asked if I had any problems with which he could help me and he offered to pray for me. I took advantage of his kindness and asked for a prayer. He was very understanding of my situation and prayed for me. I was very happy that he called and touched by his sincere concern. Hospice Care of the Valley provided attention to details I hadn't even considered when I knew my Mother was about to die. I am very grateful for their help during this critically important and vulnerable time and want to thank them all for their expertise and consideration that made such a difference to myself and to my sister.
