I’m hesitant to return, especially after the rushed feeling during my last appointment when I asked to be finished within 1.5 hours. They also seemed to push products and additional appointments to maximize insurance claims. When I had questions about a large charge for a previous visit, I was told I’d have to wait 2-3 weeks for a call from the billing department with an itemized bill. I strongly recommend reading the lower-rated reviews and doing your research. I hope my experience helps others avoid a similar situation. Less

She never made me feel bad about the state of my teeth, but instead put me at ease and walked me through the next steps to get my gums and teeth healthy. Margie did an excellent job of explaining my insurance and all potential costs of my treatment plan. I always knew what would be covered and what I would owe after each round of treatment. Sierra and Brooklynn have also been fantastic and always bring a smile to my face with their positive energy even though the first few appointments were very stressful for me. Once Dr. Hamamoto and Ivy, the dental hygienist who actually has me looking forward to cleanings now, got my gums and cavities under control, I began Invisalign treatment. After about 20 months of Invisalign, my treatment has just completed and I can honestly say they have changed my life. I feel confident in my smile for the first time in my life and no longer refuse to be photographed out of embarrassment of my teeth. I highly recommend Hamamoto dentistry. Less

I literally cannot recommend everyone at Hamamoto Dentistry enough.Around 2016, I needed to find a new dentist, but was terrified. I didn't have insurance most of my life, so I grew up going to dental clinics in which I always had a different dentist. I would always tell them that my body cycled through the numbing solution quickly, and for it to be effective, I needed more than usual. Of course, they wouldn't listen, and so I grew up thinking I just had to "bear" the pain that would inevitably come. We couldn't afford regular cleanings, so just about the only time I would go was when I was forced to because the pain from a new cavity became too much to bear.Thus, when I finally DID have insurance and had to find a new dentist, my anxiety was (understandably), incredibly high. I came to Hamamoto Dentistry at the recommendation of a former boss, trusting her word that they were amazing.I cannot stress enough how incredible everyone was--and has been ever since.I think that at the point I joined them I needed a root canal, and it was one of the first procedures I had done there.They gave me a warm blanket, took my heart rate, and numbed me up. Margie sat next to me with a compassionate hand on my shoulder the entire time, encouraging me to relax my shoulders as my entire body would tense. When I inevitably did cycle through the numbing agency (if I remember correctly, this procedure was a bit more difficult for some reason), they were quick to give me more, and were extremely kind and understanding. I cried afterwards (out of built-up emotions, not pain), and rather than feeling ashamed, I felt seen. Margie sat with me and told me how anxious she used to be about the dentist, and that she totally understood.In the future, they always extra numb me--and they even take preventative measures to stop halfway through and numb me just in case. I also opt in for nitrous oxide (laughing gas), which I never knew was an option before, to help ease my anxiety.No matter who I'm working with, they always take the time to explain to me exactly what they're doing, why certain procedures are important, and they never make me feel ashamed for my teeth. I learned that I have naturally thin enamel, and so am more prone to getting cavities. To help prevent it, I go in every 3 months for a cleaning with Ivy, who is literally the gentlest flosser I've ever had in my life. She checks in multiple times as the cleaning goes on to see how I'm doing (my gums are sensitive), and is so sweet and easy to talk to. (Not that I'm doing much talking with my mouth open lol)Dr. Hamamoto, too, is always so caring and attentive, and even remembers to ask about personal details I mentioned months prior.I'm now proud to say I no longer shake when going in, and when they ask me how I am, I can honestly say "doing well."If you're someone like me and the dentist freaks you out--do yourself a favor and go to Hamamoto!
