This is the most disgusting place in Gunbarrell. The chicken taste like it was fried with the fish. People have fish allergies and you can't use the same cooking oil. Cochrans will say they don't do this but there is no other reason the chicken taste like it's fried in fish oil.

I spoke to the manager and he told me just go ahead I told him I will leave the cups and he told me that Nobody lips would touch that cup after I touched it! Iām giving 2 stars because everytime I get get a meal with a salad they put the salad in the same box as my food and it gets all steamy from the heat having soggy lettuce salad is no fun I love salad I expect them to use a separate container even after I always ask them to. Horrible place to get something to eat . the rudest lady ever to meet. We ordered a family meal for 3 people and she would only give us two plates. Two plates so me and my son had to share a paper plate cause she would only give us two plates. That is ridiculous. Never will we go back there to eat.

Service is a lunch counter style where you can see the food being served out of trays. Lady at the counter was friendly. Disgusting! I just paid $15 for lunch that I threw in the trash. Chicken fried steak was soggy and swimming in white gravy; I guess to cover up the fact that it was fried in old, nasty grease. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and still had skin in them, the pea salad was probably the worst I've ever eaten... peas were crunchy! Don't waste your money!
I really like the fried catfish here. I actually live in Dallas county and my sister lives in Mabank and when I get to come down to visit I always try to buy a box of catfish. It isn't overly salty which is great for me because I like less and to me it's seasoned just right. The service is also pretty quick. I wish we had a Cochran's closer to us, that would be great.

EXCELLENT gastro experience last night!!!! Home fried squash, cabbage looked like your granny and HUGE chicken fried steak! It was real beef, very tender!! The peach cobbler was amazing! The CFS serving was so large I ate plenty and brought home enough for my husband and I to have CFS sandwiches. It was JUST as good today!

I have been living on the lake for quite a few years and today was my first time eating at Cochran's. I got the chicken fried steak with brussel sprouts and rice with cheese and broccoli and banana pudding for dessert. I have to say that the food is EXCELLENT!! The steak is real and not frozen and everything I had was so delicious. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Enforce mandated face coverings for people entering like the sign on the door states, prep inside seating for social distancing and/or plastic shields between seating areas. This is a breeding place for the coronavirus. They thought that it was funny when these things were brought to their attention.

I understand bad reviews are not good for small owned businesses but it was just three times unsatisfactory. I know that it's not completely the business's fault and sometimes people don't think about that when things go wrong. I do not want to get anybody in trouble I'm glad there is somebody there that is trying their best and working as hard as they can I understand that it is not easy to be in the food business at all and it takes a lot of work. as well as time management and getting things done in a timely manner but the right way. Also I can't imagine how hard it can be to stay open during this time. As a chef I did not come in and speak with anybody because I fell as if I wanted to come in and eat I would have and in those incidences I was on lunch or did not have time. I just wanted to think you for reaching back out to me and explaining your situation. And even though it should have been a better experience I am very understanding of why it may have not been. I know you do have excellent food and offer excellent customer service and I'm sure you would have made it right if I would have said something that day. I haven't stop here in a long time. Happened to be in GBC so we picked up a large order 12 PC chicken and 12 PC fish & 4 sides. The food we got was very good but didn't get our fried okra & we live way to far to go back. I will check my order next time.

Cochran's has the best food in town, the staff is friendly and very experienced, prices are good. My wife loves the meat loaf, my favorite is the chicken fried steak or the catfish or the gizzards.

If you need a down home cooking fix, this is the place on the lake. From meatloaf, liver and onions to chicken fried steak along with fried okra, squash, Mac n cheese. Of course they have banana pudding! Oh and hot yeast rolls. Oh, and donāt forget the fried chicken and fried catfish meals. OMgoodness. Always friendly. Cafeteria style.

Cochran's cafeteria food is excellent. You give more for the for the dollars. Everything on the buffet line is great I would recommend it to anyone who get this post. The cafeteria is located in Mabank Texas.

I love Cochran's Cafe! It's close to Cedar Creek Lake in Gun Barrel City, TX. Close to Walmart too. They have a wonderful Buffet! My favorite is the chicken strips!! But they are not greasy! Yummy! Their rolls are great too! More veggies than you can eat. Everything is fresh, hot, & ready for you. They have take out too. Another reason I love this place. See you there!

This place has been here forever. We haven't gotten bored with the food yet and don't think we ever will. This is as close to cooking like Gramma usta cook! Food is good, service is great and the people are friendly. The restrooms are cleaner than most, so what more you ask for? If you leave and your still hungry, its your fault!
