The bidding war was crazy at that time, we were not the highest bid (in fact, we were $100k less than the highest bid), she went extra step to explain our situation to listing agent and seller. Thanks to her help, we had a chance when the highest bidder backed out, the seller reached out to us first, even though there were 10 other higher bids than us. The best part is that the price was close to appraisal which was not common in that crazy market.
