We have just returned from our second visit here this year and can't wait to book again. Our first stay was in the forge which Is fantastic, it's light and spacious with some of the old charm still on view, the hot tub was ready on arrival and was checked twice daily every day by James the owner who is extremely friendly and helpful, he gave us lots of information about the properties history as well as the local area and where to visit. Our second visit has been to the woodcock which was surprisingly spacious and the photos online do not do it justice. It's very private and perfect for a couples break, the views from the terrace of the sunsets were amazing and again james was on hand to help and there testing the hot tub twice daily. He gave us tips for nice walks in the local area and even sent a further text later with more options, he goes over and beyond and you can see the love he has for what he does. If we were to stay as a couple again we would definitely choose the woodcock but the forge is excellent for a family. There are larger pods too but we loved the "hobbit house"feel of the rounded pod. Thank you James we can't wait to stay with you again. X

Very lovely stay. Everything you needed, very well equipped. Amble room. Enough towels for everything you need with having the hot tub. Very clean and well presented. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Fantastic place loads of places to go walking we walked for 3.4 miles with 2 kids down the canal and round in to burn and back didn’t see anyone if you want piece and quite this is the place to go it was a last minute holiday for us and we will definitely be returning soon

Beautiful peaceful tranquil what a lush place to stay. Very relaxing. The pod we stayed in was cosy and clean with a modern feel had everything u needed. The porch area was lovely too looking out into nature. Fab hot tub to relax in. The area is surrounded with great walks along the canal. Would defo recommend staying here.

Nice quiet location. Lovely host. Comfortable bed and lovely hot tub. A premium coffee machine and a welcome basket would make it more luxurious me rate it higher but I’d stay again.

I had the pleasure to stay at Mackinder Farms Holiday Accommodation while attending my son's wedding. What an amazing place the lodge was fully equipped to a high standard and was set in a very peaceful setting. Well worth a visit.

We booked the lapwing lodge for a few nights after our wedding and it was perfect ..really tranquil and relaxing a real hidden gem. It was close by to everything we needed but once back on site it was like you were miles away from anything. We will be definitely booking again. The communication from start to finish was excellent and we would highly recommend 👌 💯

Hi, I have been going to Mackinder farms every summer since 2017, but missed 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I also have a TBI(traumatic brain injury) which means @ the start of going i was under a 24 hour care package. This meant i have always had x2 support workers with me. Happily this has now reduced down to having support for just part of the day and no staffing team with me over night @my home now. James the owner has always accommodated myself and my staffing team with the upmost respect, gratitude and dignity. There is no staff of his team that gets in the way of your time@mackinder nor James himself. If there is any issue that arises it gets dealt with immediately. Thus making for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. He also provides a hot tub spa which gets checked x2 daily for chlorine and maintenance making for such a pleasurable break away :-).

It was our first time staying at Mackinder and we will definitely be returning! We got married at Berts Barrow which is nearby so the bridal party, groom&groomsmen and family all stayed in 3 of Mackinders accommodations.All the lodges were spotless upon arrival, and had such a homely feel. There was plenty of room for us all, and the fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. We all enjoyed our stay, the outdoor area and hot tubs are so well maintained too!After our wedding, myself and my husband stayed in Woodcock which was stunning! Warm, spacious and comfortable accommodation perfect for our family wedding weekend. Lovely modern barn conversion with handy option for us of interconnecting door. Delicious tasting water and soft bath towels. Beautiful quiet surroundings and James and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended .

A truly wonderful weekend celebrating our son’s wedding nearby. Having three cottages together was James’ idea & it worked so well for us.The Hayloft even had a table I could seat 16 round for dinner on the night before the wedding. Such a bonus to have family & friends all together to celebrate.The accommodation was spotless & had everything we needed. Of course the hot tubs were an added treat & the weather was amazing.Honestly can’t recommend Mackinder highly enough.

Me, my husband and our dog Charlie have just spent a week at Mackinder Farms. We stayed in the 3 bedroom Pheasant log cabin,we have stayed here on numerous occasions. James the manager welcomed us on arrival and showed us to the recently renovated kitchen and bathroom in the property. The lodges are always spotless, with quality bedding and towels. The hot tub was checked twice daily and the whole site is well maintained and really peaceful. If you are looking for a relaxing break from it all, this is the place to be. Lovely dog walks on the door step and Selby Centre is just a 10 minute drive away. A big thanks to James and his team. we will be back again.

A very well maintained property. Very clean. They clearly go for the little extra (milk, coffee, tea, sugar) and more (dishwasher liquid, toilet roll, handwash). A good location to disconnect from the busy world soaking in the hot tub.

Fantastic family weekend spent at Mackinder Farm. We stayed in The Forge and we honestly couldn’t recommend highly enough. Immaculately clean, not a speck of dust anywhere, lovely and comfortable furniture and beds, kitchen fully kitted out with everything you need. The hot-tub was really clean and very warm and we loved getting the log burner lit on the evening. We will definitely be booking to return. We were there on our son’s birthday and the site kindly decorated the living room with banners that we’d ordered and had delivered direct. We met James on site who was very friendly and helpful. We’re already checking the diary for when we can return!

Not our first visit to Mackinder and certainly not our last. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place to be. We stayed in one of the lodges. Home from home. Well equipped kitchen lovey clean towels and bedding. Lovely walks along the canal towpath. Have a walk to Selby see all the wildlife along the way. Then enjoy a relaxing time in the hot tub which is checked on twice a day by either James or one of his team. James is a great host ready to chat or just to be left alone. Also a pub about a 25 minute walk away great food and dog friendly. All in all we had a lovely relaxing and peaceful four days away. Thank you James
