This gym wasn’t the right fit for me, but it works well for others. The pricing felt more like a luxury gym, while the hours were representative of a small business - closed on bank holidays, two weeks around Christmas, and with several days each week unavailable for workouts. As someone who works a corporate schedule, I would have loved to work out on those many bank holidays.Yoga and mat Pilates are not included in the membership, and the space itself is very bright with loud music and lots of conversation. As an introverted person, the strong emphasis on socializing felt like pressure rather than a perk. Workouts are filmed for social media, which I wasn’t aware of beforehand and did not know about until I found pictures and videos of myself on Instagram. Photography was not disclosed and required opting out. There are only two treadmills, and the focus is on lifting. Multiple classes run at once in the same room (usually 2-3 trainers with 5-10 clients each) which can feel crowded. On the positive side, the trainers are knowledgeable and emphasize safe, proper lifting technique. The environment is very social, which some people will enjoy, and the gym is especially well-suited for stay-at-home parents, as babies and toddlers are welcome during midday classes.Overall I am happy for those that find community through this gym. I am now at a place with dim lighting, many treadmills, and no photo ops.
