I recommended Bear Creek to my neighbor - for their good work (he could see it), their reasonable prices, and their overall professionalism. He took me up on it and I saw another crew back today removing a large tree right at our fence line and close to his house. It was truly impressive seeing Jovany up in the tree cutting the limbs and working with the ground crew to sling them down while avoid damaging the gutters on the house or the older fence between the properties. I was concerned about the roof and the fence, but it was a joy to just watch. Again the crew was quick, but not in a hurry, and the job was done well in about 30 minutes. Less

After getting tired of looking at the dead branches, I sent a note to Bear Creek to let them know if they're ever in our area to let me know. (They don't usually work in our town). They called and arranged to give an estimate that day and 2 days later they squeezed us in with another customer in our area. One of their amazing tree climbers (today's was Ben), got all of the dead branches down and fixed the stubs that were wrong from the other guy. The 3 man crew was done in an hour! No mess left behind either! Price was very comparable to the guy we hired "in an emergency " too! This is the difference between a tree cutter and a business with arborists doing the planning and work!!! Hopefully they can squeeze us in from now on because we think they're great! Oh, and everyone is friendly too. ......... Now, July 2022, they took down 2 huge (50-70 year old) evergreen trees at another place for us. Unfortunately we weren't there to watch. One tree was touching the house, both of them were inches from the house. The estimate was with Antonio who is super. The price was good for the amount of work. When we went to see a few days later, there was barely sawdust on the ground and not a branch in sight. A neighbor came to tell us that they all watched and were amazed at how safely, quickly and easily they removed the 2 giant trees. ........ Update 11-2020, they completed trimming on 5 trees, 3 different types. They did a perfect combination of what we envisioned and what was best for the trees. Antonio is professional, friendly, flexible, and seems to read minds, passing that on to the crews. They will be doing more work for us soon including removal of 2 trees and trimming 2 more. The proposal price is the going rate, and we feel lucky to have found them so we can have an ongoing relationship. ....... They are professional and friendly. I was pleased with the service the first time, which was at a property as a different location. The management is very responsive and I felt like they want the customer to be pleased with the work that they do. For best results, be sure to meet with the crew before they start and before they pack up to leave. Be clear about what you want and what you convey to the crew that comes to do your work. My personal preference for having good looking trees is to 1. prune branches that are competing with other branches for light; 2. trim branches that are growing downward; and 3. ultimately, the tree should look balanced. We got several estimates to remove a huge spruce tree that had taken over our yard and the roots were starting to cause problems. Update 10/2/19: Sonny offered to have the services completed for us due to our concerns. The crew showed up today and was very professional, efficient, and polite. The weather was cruddy this morning, but they arrived early and started working. They completed all the work promised and left the yard clean. We very much appreciate the time, energy, and care it took to turn our minds around. We would recommend Bear Creek going forward - thanks, guys :) I absolutely cannot understand how this place has good reviews. Communication is worse than any other local business we've worked with in the Denver area. First, Antonio called to say he'd arrive at my house in 15 - 20 minutes to provide an estimate... took more than 45 minutes to arrive. Apparently Antonio didn't make very good notes because I later had to walk around my yard trying to explain what was supposed to be done to the random guys who showed up to complete the service. The receptionist seems to struggle - called me to collect payment on our invoice a month before services were even performed. She was never apologetic when rescheduling or making errors. The service to be completed was over $2k, but the morning of I received a call telling me it would be rescheduled for a certain date due to an emergency at a Cemetery... apparently they have a contract in place, but I was given less than an hour warning after making arrangements with work and neighbors. I agreed to reschedule after getting a whopping 5% discount for my time. They showed up the morning of and came up with excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't complete the job. Antonio, who provided the estimate, didn't show up so I had to tell them what to do. The guy attempting to communicate with me was terrible at it and never introduced himself. He needs to work on his customer communication skills. He offered no solutions - only complaints. The main issue was that there were 2 cars on the street in front of my house so they couldn't get their truck in my driveway. Not a single person communicated that the street would need to be free of cars for them to be able to perform their job. They refused to do any of the work - even the work they could get to - and left. I spoke with the manager, Sonny, and he was apologetic, but admitted he wasn't even aware of the issues that had occurred. Of course, why would any of your employees own up to mistakes or miscommunication? I voiced my complaints and was offered another reschedule for the next day, but no additional discount. I don't think people understand how expensive it is to take a day off of work, and their inconsistency cost me more time and money than they were offering. After over a month of struggling with this company, I have less patience and money, but the same amount of dead trees. Less

They did a great job We have a Honey Locust tree that is 50+ years old and there are 2 electrical lines that is very close to the tree. They were able to work around the lines without any issues and they also removed a lot of dead branches near the roof of the house. With the trim, the tree looks so much better.
