⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hands down my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant in Dunlap! 🌮❤️If you haven’t tried El Matate, you are seriously missing out! The food is always absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. You can tell they put care into what they serve every single time.The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is wonderful, and the staff always makes you feel right at home. Whether we’re stopping in for a quick meal or sitting down to enjoy dinner, we always leave happy and FULL! 😋There are plenty of places to grab Mexican food, but El Matate is my go-to every time. Great food, great people, and a wonderful local restaurant right here in Dunlap. 🌮🧀🌶️Definitely a 5-star favorite and highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heath & Angie

3 stars for service we had to ask 3 times for water then they only brought it to my husband. And never came back to check on how the food was.We left with only eating about 1/8 of the food we ordered -it was not good at all- the only thing that was palatable was the chicken in the burrito and his shrimp (6). We won't be going back nor taking company here.Update: we did go back and try here about 1.5 years after the first review. Food was ok. We had chicken churrizo and rice soft tacos and nachos pastor. Along with queso dip. Service was great. Restaurant was clean. Food was ok.

We were sat pretty quickly, a ball game was on TV. Hardly anybody inside. Bartender was probably getting off for the shift change. He got our drinks then left. New bartender showed up and promptly ignored our table with menus sitting on the side. Sat there for 20 minutes with nobody looking at us. We left. Probably not going back.
