After about 4 weeks I began to have energy and strength in joints that I hadn't felt in years. I have more motion every time at each re-exam. I have my ups and downs but thats my fault. The thing I have learned (not only by listening but by experience) is that we need to regularly maintain our bodies on a schedule just like we do anything else we care about or value. When we dont, things can and eventually do go in a negative direction. Dr. Marvin is great at what he does and kind/friendly to his clients. Always trys to educate us to help us be the best us. I had eye pain, headache, I was always dizzy and my body always feel weak with low energy. There was a lot of things going on in my body that I can't explain. I can't even enjoy spending time with my family or play with my little kids. I was scared and felt hopeless but I always pray to God to heal whatever is going on inside my body, until one day I decided to go see a chiropractor and the first thing that popped up was Finesse Chiropractic. I came in and I met Dr. Marvin Kunikiyo, he is very kind and knowledgeable on what he does. After my xray I found out about joint dysfunction. My first week I was still in pain, my second week I had lesser pain but was always feeling dizzy and starts wondering if it's working but I made a decision to keep going. On my third week my body started feeling better, I had minimal pain, I feel more energetic, I was able to do chores, run errands and take care of the kids and at the end of the day I still have energy. Wow, wow, WOW! Hindsight is 20/20! I got my first tension headache migraine almost 10 years ago. Unless you've had one, you can't truly understand how awful they are. Mine progressively got worse and worse over the years. To the point were I was chronically getting them almost every other day. It was debilitating to my life. Having to take time off work because of them, or trying to muscle through the pain, was exhausting. The number of family/social events I had to cancel on, was frustrating. I had thought it was just caused by bad neck/head posture and was all self-inflicted. I was taking Excedrin way too often to combat the pain, which is (1) expensive and (2) not good for you to take so frequently. But I didn't know what else to do, nothing else had worked. I thought that this would just be my life. Until. A friend of mine recommended a chiropractor. I had always (falsely) presumed that a chiropractor would just treat the pain but not solve anything, so it would just be a waste. But I was so, SO wrong. The first day at Finesse Chiropractic, I was x-ray'd. Turns out, I have a terrible spine - years worth of degradation that has compounded over time. This was causing the tension in my upper back, which was causing my migraines. I found out that I couldn't even turn my head as far to one side as I could the other! (how did I not notice this...) My spine had, overall, about 50% the range of motion it should have. That's an 'F'. Pathetic. Dr. Marvin put me on a 8-week plan to reverse the damage done by the degradation. I went in 3-times a week for adjustments. After my first time in (x-ray/adjustment), I went over a week without a tension headache migraine. I can't tell you the last time that I went that long without one - it's been years. It was mind-blowing. Ever since, my tension headache migraines got more and more in-frequent. Now, I may only get one every couple weeks (if that). When I got re-tested, I improved the flexibility of my lower back from 50% to 100% and increased my upper back's flexibility (which was the worst) from 50% to 75%. I'm starting another 8-week program to continue to work towards 100% range of motion in my upper-back. The change this has made to my quality of life is astounding. For so long, I thought my future was going to consist of nothing but pain. Now I can live my life without being restricted, tied down, and having to trudging through each day because of my migraines. It's a whole new world that I didn't know could be mine. Dr. Marvin Kunikiyo provides excellent chiropractic care using the Gonsted Method. For me, the adjustments are focused on my lower back and the upper vertebrae that affect my heart, e.g., rhythm & rate. The office is very well decorated and relaxing.  The part time receptionists are delightful. He also provides very informative free evening seminars on various health topics, e.g., breathing.

I’ve been to more than a few, so I can say from experience, he doesn’t just randomly or haphazardly adjust based on where pains are. His desire and intent is to address the source of a symptom, not merely alleviate byproduct pains. I had recurrent left-side chest pain that Dr. Marvin told me was coming from my back and he actually resolved it from my back. He has done the same for my arm as well. Prior to finding Dr. Marvin, I had multiple tests done, including many EKGs, but the medical doctors never found a heart condition or anything, they just supposed that my chest pain was likely a muscular issue and/or anxiety/depression. I sought answers for various other symptoms as well, but also to no real avail. I saw primary care physicians, urgent care providers and also specialists. I even had a neurologist rule out the possibility of a neurological condition. However, Dr. Marvin found something that does highly impact the nervous system. He found the root cause of my symptoms to be joint dysfunction in three different spots in my back. Not only has he pinpointed that but he also targeted those specific areas and thereby has managed to remarkably decrease my pains, tremors, cognitive issues, and other symptoms, including stress. I went from this: ~Feeling as though my physical condition and cognitive function was declining and might not improve ~Thinking that I was possibly dealing with fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease and/or some other serious ailment ~Thinking that the urgent care doctor was right, I just had chronic pain for which the only resolve was pain management ~Feeling as though my predicament might land me on disability with no job ~Taking a prescribed pain medication and muscle relaxer with the thought that I’d have to permanently remain on them To this: ~Knowing that none of that is true My condition had simply not yet been properly diagnosed. Thankfully, Dr. Marvin’s exam findings and his knowledge enabled him to determine the problem and provide the proper care. The much needed prescription was Dr. Marvin’s treatment regimen of 3 times per week for 8+ weeks at Finesse Chiropractic. I’ve driven 25 miles each way for this and it has been well worth it, I’m really glad I followed through. I have been going to a Chiropractor in another state for 6 1/2 years and in that time never felt the relief that I got when I went to Dr. Kunikiyo. His technique is so much better then what I was getting before. I felt relief after the first visit with my neck that was causing my headaches. I have had headaches for the past 10 years about 1 headache a day sometimes 2 a day. I have been going to Dr K now for a week and have not had any headaches at all which is great no more taking Excedrin every day. They sometimes got so bad that I could not even be in the light or loud noises.And when he adjusted my back he did not only help the pain in my back but he also helped me with the stomach issues that I have had for over 20 years. I have had 17 inches of my colon out and perforated my colon and last year was in the hospital for a blockage. Before my surgery I used to have a BM about one time every 2 weeks. After my surgery I still had to go on medication to help me go and the medicine cause me severe stomach pain I keep telling the Doctors but they blow it off. It was a server side affect.Which can cause blockages. It did help but the pain from the medication was too much to handle so I took myself off the medicine. When I took myself off I only went to the bathroom every 4 days. If you have ever had stomach issues like I did you know how uncomfortable it can be. After one visit with Dr. K I have never felt as much relief in my stomach the next day. I had 6 Bm's in one day and the next day 4, then 4 again the next day. I have been going to the bathroom now everyday normal bm. I am also loosing weight from it which makes me more healthy and feeling so much better. Since seeing Dr. Marvin he has done so much more for me than the previous chiropractors I've seen (not that they were horrible or anything, it just didn't work for my situation). Upon my first exam X-rays were taken of my spine, Dr. Marvin went over them with me and was able to identify some areas that had obvious problems, it's worth noting that no other doctor (chiropractor or M.D.) had ever went over my x-rays with me before (it's also worth noting the other doctors I've seen were not in the state of Washington). But my biggest problem was severe debilitating vertigo. Because of the vertigo I've had to routinely and precisely position my head and body on my bed before going to sleep and lay motionless in that position all night long in order not to go into a spin. Because of this, I only was averaging about 4 hours of sleep a night. Also, my range of motion had become very limited over the years because of the vertigo. Bending over, looking up, looking down, laying on my left side or my back, raising my arms would send me into a spin. Over the years I've been to numerous chiropractors that were able to help me with many issues, but the results would not last very long after treatment and the vertigo always remained. I have been told that the vertigo was caused from a couple different things; certain vertebrae in my neck or crystals in my ears, neither being the case. For years I have heard about the difference with Gonstead chiropractic method, which Dr. Kunikiyo practices, but was reluctant to go to the effort to find a Gonstead doctor. I finally took the plunge and am driving 1 hour 3x a week; it's totally worth it! Dr. Kunikyo's adjustments are specific and calculated to exactly the points needed, nothing more or less. He diagnoses very carefully by measuring range of motion, taking x-rays, and feeling joint stiffness. He adjusts using no noisy mechanical gadgets but rather hands on technique and special furniture unique to Gonstead. I am 32 and have chronic upper back and hip pain and migraines, all of which I have noticed improving after 4 weeks. After the first few adjustments I had a constant low grade migraine, but after he started working on my neck they are much better. My hip pain which bothered me after even a short walk is much less and I can take long walks again. My 6 year old daughter had knee and hip pain, and Dr. Kunikiyo adjusted her knees and hips. When she started she had 50-80% range of motion, and after 4 weeks she has 100% or more! Dr. Kunikiyo is very warm and kind, and enjoys teaching his patients about spinal health. Their small office has only the doctor and 1 receptionist, so you truly feel you are receiving 1 on 1 personal care. I highly recommend! UPDATE (11/14/19): After writing the above review, I experienced several more amazing results from Dr. Kunikyo's treatment. First, in January (a month into treatment) I had an adjustment, I think at T 6-7 instead of the usual T 8-9. It suddenly released a very tight spot. I felt the relief of tension instantly, but I was not prepared for the major detox I would have the next day: headache, flu like symptoms and major cleansing reaction. The following day, I felt better and the constant ache between my shoulders was gone forever. Shortly after, I became pregnant with my 4th child. I want to share the amazing results of adjustment during pregnancy. In my 1st trimester, the hip problem I'd been having returned and I couldn't walk without shooting pain in my left hip. Dr. K. showed my X-rays to a fellow chiropractor for a second opinion, and decided to adjust a couple of vertebrae up from my hip joint, thinking that the pain was possibly not in the hip but was radiating nerve pain from a pinched nerve in the low back. The pain did not go away at first, but after 3 or 4 lumbar adjustments it began to decrease. I was relieved to know that my hips were fine and the pain I felt was only coming from my back. Thank you again, Dr. K, for helping me be able to take walks again! During my entire pregnancy I had much less low back aching than I've had with my previous 3 children. The regular adjustments helped my spine move properly and take extra pressure away. Finally, I got to my last month of pregnancy. My midwife brought up a concern: I was measuring about 4 cm. smaller than normal and my baby bump looked like 7 months instead of almost 9. I went for an ultrasound at 38 weeks to check baby weight and fluid levels, thinking there might be a problem. The baby was reported to be a good healthy 7 lbs. (good size compared to my other babies) with lots of fluid, but I only gained another 1/2 cm. by my due date. I normally have fast labors, but this time the baby's hand was by her head and made labor stop and go for 2 days. Once the midwife broke my water, she was born in about 40 minutes. We were all shocked to find out she weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz.--my biggest baby by nearly a pound! The midwife asked, "Where were you hiding her?" I had no idea such a large baby could fit in such a small belly (and I have small hips). I attribute the baby's good positioning and "hiding" in my pelvis to all those regular adjustments, which aligned my hips and created more space for the baby, as well as smooth delivery. I shuffled through the doors of Finesse Chiropractic with very little expectation of relief from the excruciating back and leg pain I had been experiencing. During our first appointment, Dr. Kunikiyo gave me genuine confidence in his ability to help. He identified areas of my body where the most significant problems started, and proposed a treatment plan that we could use to reach realistic goals. I started seeing Dr. Kunikiyo 3 times a week. It seemed excessive to me at first, but results very quickly started speaking for themselves. Within just a few visits I was back to work. The pain in my back and leg became at least bearable. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT BACK PAIN I had just moved here and when looking for a new chiropractor and I was attracted to Dr Kunikiyo's focus on the nervous system - hoping that this approach would provide some good benefits. At my first visit, I did have back pain and balance issues; however, I also had been going through serious digestive problems for almost a year that had really worn my health down as well as a-fib heart issues. My digestive doctor said he thought I had IBS so I asked him how he knew that? He said it was "guessology" admitting he wasn't positive. I went home with more possible remedies - treating the symptoms. I had been on a Keto diet to help my digestive issues for a year and also was going to a naturopath. Started taking needed minerals which helped a lot. At my very first visit, Dr Kunikiyo explained that the areas in my spine that were causing me pain and discomfort were areas that would have an impact on my heart and digestive system. Well, hooray! No chiropractor ever told me that before. After 2 adjustments, I could tell a difference in both of my most serious issues. The healing had begun. Mainly the digestive and afib. Now...after a number of visits, I have no digestive problems and the balance issues are so much better. This place is awesome, not to expensive, quick and always friendly. I had pinched my sciatica nerve and couldn't hardly move for a whole month. I was in extreme pain the whole time. I was scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery on both of my wrists when my wife spoke to Dr. Marvin Kunikiyo and he told her that it was not a good idea. I’ve been coming for over six months now, I used to suffer with daily neck pain and back pain...plus daily migraines that would last 12 plus hours..Dr. Marvin has really helped me get those migraines down to 2 hours sometimes less!
