I was impressed by the availability of appointments and the efficient manner of getting in and being treated. The treatments were quick and painless. The videos presented before my first appointment were very helpful. However, the video led me to believe that treating the internally inflamed hemorrhoids would result in the external hemorrhoids shrinking. I was disappointed to find out that this is not the case. Also, one week after my treatments ended, I experiened a sudden flare up of what I assumed were additional hemorrhoids. I can’t remember when I last received such exceptional medical care. Dr. Gutman is outstanding. Basically using a painless laser or a banding technique than has a slight discomfort. The banding worked best for me. As a young, active male, I was struggling for a couple years due to years of bad habits that I didn't really think twice about. I thought my experience was normal and that I could get it to subside by myself, which may have been the case had I started to years earlier. After the situation worsened pretty bad, through recommendation, I made an appointment with Dr. Gutman. I had done research on my own and was pretty terrified of traditional banding or surgery as the pain and recovery time all sounded less than ideal. With Dr. Gutman's new approach and use of modern technology, my fears were put to rest and I decided to tackle the problem for good. Because of my insurance, Med Mutual, only a certain amount of the infrared procedure is recognized and covered and the rest is out of pocket. Dr. Gutman recognizes this and offered me several solutions that would help my wallet the most and still fix the issue in a quick and affordable manner. Beyond that, he really works with you to make sure you are okay with the program he lays out as they sincerely want to help their clients and understand money is a huge factor. Honestly, this was more affordable than I planned it to be which was a huge relief. I've now had my final visit and can say I feel better than ever. There is no pain, no complications, no embarrassment or anything. While I did have some minor pain with the banded solution, it was manageable and only lasted a couple days. When I shared this with Doc, he shared concern but the pain had gone away and he simply wanted to monitor it. This was a very abnormal response to the procedure and one should not expect the same experience I had. After that, everything was very seamless. The process can be uncomfortable, but upon leaving the office you feel normal and can return to any activity. All my visits were done during my lunch hour and I work about 15-20 minutes from the office. That speaks to how fast the procedures are and how on time the staff is.
