Florida Complete Wellness

Since June 29, I have been a client of Florida Complete Wellness, enrolled in their Family Membership, and have been consistently on tirzepatide, losing 45 pounds over the past four months. Every week, I attended my appointments and lost 3-5 pounds, making great progress. Today, however, at my appointment with Beatriz Gutierrez (Nurse Practitioner), things went very differently. After a failed attempt to use the BA machine, which is frequently uncharged, Beatriz Gutierrez (Nurse Practitioner) told me she was going to get my injections. She administered the shot, and I proceeded to my acupuncture session. At the end of my visit, I went to pay my tirzepatide and family memberships, only to discover that I had been injected with semaglutide instead of tirzepatide. I’ve had severe side effects from semaglutide in the past, including hospitalization, and yet at no point was I informed that tirzepatide was no longer available, nor was I asked for my consent to switch medications. It is my right as a patient to know what is being injected into my body, and this was done without my acknowledgment or permission. Beatriz Gutierrez’s (Nurse Practitioner) response, telling me I was overreacting and would be fine, was completely dismissive and unprofessional.
In addition, Carol (The masseuse), who has been incredibly rude, came out yelling that I was overreacting and insisted I needed to relax because there were other patients. She had no involvement in my conversation and absolutely no right to intervene. By doing so, she violated my patient privacy, discussing my situation with the nurse without my consent. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially when it concerns my personal health and privacy rights.
It was Beatriz Gutierrez’s (Nurse Practitioner) responsibility to inform me of what I was being injected with before administering the shot. As a patient, I have the absolute right to know what is being put into my body and to give or withhold my consent. It is unacceptable to assume that I was okay with receiving a different medication, especially one that has previously caused me severe side effects. Consent is not optional—it is a fundamental patient right, and this was a clear violation of that trust.
There is no longer any trust between me, the patient, and this office. I find myself questioning everything that has taken place during my time here. An incident this severe cannot be undone, and you cannot regain a patient’s trust after such a serious breach. The lack of transparency and disregard for my rights as a patient has left me with no confidence in the care provided at this office.
