Stephen is highly experienced at PT care, and Riley's pilates classes are excellent. If you are looking for a large and impersonal PT practice, Core isn't for you. Same with pilates classes. Core is where you go to learn pilates the right way in a small group or individual sessions. If you are thinking about pilates as the next step after physical therapy or to avoid the need for physical therapy, this is the pilates studio for you.

I’ve been going to Stephen throughout the last15 years whenever needed and have also seen Andy ant times I and can’t imagine seeing any other physical therapists in Austin. They have helped my daughter and I more beyond any other PTs I’ve seen (and I’ve been to several others). Stephen not only treats but re-educates his patients about how certain daily repetitive activities create injury. He is also adept at cranial sacral therapy and myofascial release which have been instrumental in both of our treatment. Lastly I’ll note that they are some of the rare PTs that understand Long COVID and can actually help (instead of making it worse). Especially if you’re looking for excellent cranial sacral therapy, this is the place.

I’ve been to 3 physical therapy places in the last six months and this one is outstanding! Others were fairly standard saying do this list of exercises, but Dr Andy dedicates himself to your health with far more tailoring, uniquer exercises including the use of specialized pilates-type of machines, and is incredibly intuitive about using manual therapy to even out sides and find the spots that disturb your mobility though you might not have been able to express it. Also unlike other places, Dr Andy watches the exercises to guide so that we benefit from the movements fully. I highly recommend this tranquil place if you have an injury, have had surgery and want to heal better, and for fitness and lifetime mobility!

I’ve had past experiences with several Austin physical therapists but I can honestly say that Stephen Dunn and his colleagues at Core Therapy and Pilates represent the best PT care that I have received.I found Core after a hip replacement in 2024. Then, I returned to Core following knee replacement in 2025. I appreciated how well Stephen assessed my pain and range of motion issues. He gave me suggestions, guidance, tools and exercises that positively impacted my rehab. I appreciated how well Stephen combined his PT exercises with the strengthening benefits of Pilates. The Corr staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I can honestly state that Core Therapy is a happy place for me and I highly recommend them.

I started working with Stephen at CORE Therapy & Pilates a few months ago while recovering from spine surgery, and he's been a big part of my recovery. As someone in my mid-30s who wanted to get back to an active lifestyle, I was looking for more than just basic rehab - and Stephen delivered that.Stephen developed a personalized recovery plan with targeted exercises that helped me regain strength, rebuild muscle, and get back to feeling like myself again. He takes the time to understand your goals, explain the purpose behind the treatment, and adjust the program as you improve. What sets Stephen apart is his holistic approach to recovery. Along with excellent physical therapy, he's provided helpful wellness-focused recommendations that have supported my overall healing. I recommend Stephen and CORE Therapy & Pilates to anyone recovering from surgery or looking to improve their strength and mobility.

I had neuropathy pain with standing to work all day as a hair stylist. I was referred to CORE by a good friend who had success with their Neuropathy program. I was skeptical about using the technology at home but after 2 months of consistent use, my nerve pain was gone. The red light is my favorite and the nerve cream was very helpful. I’m so grateful to no longer have pain in my feet after having it for several years. Thanks so much.

Pilates Review December 2025I’ve seriously been thinking about not giving this place a great review because I know I have found a hidden diamond in the Hills! I’m so so so HAPPY! Before I arrived here I had fallen eight+ times within the last nine months. I needed a cane when I walked and plus i had a stroke plus 25 surgeries. I’m a mess of contradictions. Today after a month and a half I’m walking close to the speed of everyone else now my height has gained half inch (because I had been leaning to my left since the stroke.) Now I have balanced height back with pelvic alignment. These masters are so knowledgeable in thinking outside the box they can help your Neuro/Body alignment and other individual needs as well! The Pilates and gyro machines will also give you strength & balance and from the other various exercise machines I have NOT seen these before in any other therapist offices I’ve previously been to. They want the office to feel like a living room with light music in the background. All of the machines are evenly spaced for your ease & comfort. These guys are amazing!!! They are extremely helpful. They want & will make your body feel great again!

Based on my personal experiences with physical therapy for carpal tunnel syndrome in my 30s and recovering from a broken wrist and frozen shoulder at 60, I had low expectations for Medicare-covered PT at 66. As a massage therapist and bodyworker for nearly 30 years, I've seen many clients with poor results from physical therapy. But, as I knew a podiatrist would likely recommend surgery for my foot pain, I preferred bodywork over surgery and went to PT with an open mind.Dr. Dunn from CORE Therapy & Pilates exceeded my expectations! Instead of following a standardized protocol, he conducted a thorough visual assessment and created a personalized treatment plan. He addressed my specific needs and showed me how to manage my condition. I'm excited to start therapy and confident that I can continue my career pain-free. With my severe osteoporosis diagnosis, I feel safer knowing I can maintain my spinal and foot health in a safe and natural way. If I had to pay out of pocket, CORE Therapy & Pilates would be my choice!

Core Therapy and Pilates has saved my life! I am a senior and needed help with aging and debilitating back pain. Stephen and Daniel have worked with me for only 6 visits, and I have basically an 80% improvement. It is a miracle, and I now have a set of exercises to do at home. Do not hesitate another moment with constant pain. They will change you completely with their fine expertise!

This is the second time I've chosen CORE. I enjoy the one on one sessions and the added "therapy" of the three very attentive dogs there! 😄
