I have been a member of CrossFit Aptos since they opened. And it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. The workouts are challenging, but the coaches and other people working out are very supportive and encouraging. And if you are not feeling it that day, you can modify with the help of a coach. CrossFit Aptos has kept me going through breast cancer and two knee replacements.

There’s nothing quite like the community of CrossFit Aptos. I have a number of injuries and the coaches help make every workout feasible for me. Everyone is so kind, friendly, and helpful. I truly don’t know where I would be without it, it changed my life!

I have been doing crossfit for many years and due to travelling visit and drop in at many gyms. I went to Crossfit Aptos for a week and it was unlike any gym I have attended. Very personalized coaching, I got a-lot of very good tips on my form and corrected my technique. The staff and culture is amazing. The vibe is very uplifting and friendly and not competitive at all. I highly reccomend it!

Of course you might think I'm biased because I coach here but there's a reason 'Ive been here since 2015. The community is amazing. The coaches do it because we love to help others achieve their fitness goals. We miss you when you're gone and celebrate when you return. I was traveling this summer and was in Aptos for a month and joined this gym. Hands down the best CrossFit gym I have been to in California!! I mean that. The people are so kind and welcoming. Fantastic, knowledgeable coaches. I immediately felt part of the crew and was sad to leave. This is the gym you must join in the Santa Cruz area!!

After more than ten years of false starts trying to get in better shape, the community and great coaches at Aptos CrossFit have helped me actually change my life. I’ve been going regularly for a year and a half, lost 40 pounds, and feel great! The class times make getting there convenient as well. Definitely worth checking out.

If you get motivated by competing against others and want to make some friends, I'd highly recommend this gym. I was looking to improve my an range of motion and get a full body workout when I joined, and I have, but the competition and friendship is an added bonus.

The long read: I’ve been doing CrossFit for a while now at a pretty high level, but I travel Often for work, so finding a great CrossFit to drop into is always top on my list once I arrive. CrossFit Aptos has become my go to in Santa Cruz county when I head home for the holidays and spring visits. It’s always easy to find the class schedule, the workout, or if I’ve had a question, I’ve always gotten an email response with the detail I needed. That’s huge. I’ve skipped by other gyms for that alone. The coaches and members are always welcoming, ask where I’m from or how I’ve been, and are super supportive and fun to workout with. They never fail to make me feel like I’m home every time I visit. It’s clear they are much more than just a place to work out. They are focused on building a community and offer members nutrition tips, and other skill building opportunities that not all places do. This is what helps keep you coming back no matter how sore or hard a workout was. The community is addictive. The workouts are always great. A mix of cardio with barbell work focused on building functional fitness. All the coaches pay close attention to form to make sure members are safe and are always there for the added encouragement when all you want to do is give up. Members seem to range from all skill levels from newbies to seasoned vets. It’s also worth mentioning their location. Tucked in little Aptos, it can seem out of the way, but I highly suggest it over other locations in town. After class take the time to head down to sea cliff beach for a walk or run the amazing stairs. Or walk across the road and up into the red wood forest of Nicene Marks, it’s gorgeous. There are also plenty of food options and coffee shops within reach after class. If it’s not obvious, I’m a fan and would highly suggest CrossFit Aptos to anyone looking to build their fitness with a great group of like minded people. Less

I really enjoy the family atmosphere at CFA. They do a great job of finding the right mix of pushing you to be better but not getting you hurt. There's a wide variety of people and they offer workouts for all ages/levels of fitness. I highly recommend.
