Love this place! I am a complete newbie to the gym and CrossFit. The coaches are so great w helping me feel more comfortable around all the movements. It’s a great group of people who are invested in good training and a fun atmosphere.

Great community and awesome people! Workouts are scaled for one’s capabilities. Since I joined, my posture in key movements have improved and now I can do exercises I couldn’t before. The Coach Team is amazing! You have to take a clase with Coach Johny! He is super cool!

This is an amazing box - my affiliate is in the Orlando area, but I travel to Texas monthly for work and this is my drop in box. The trainers there are amazing and though I follow my own programming, I hear/see their programming when I am there and I am so impressed! Definitely a fantastic box!

Fantastic place. Very accepting “come as you are” “every one is welcome” attitude. Never Having a membership at a gym I was very nervous to go. They where so friendly and patient. Now 1.5 years into it my waist is what it was in collage (I’m mid 50’s) and getting very strong and fit. Give it a try. You will be glad you did!!!

You are a name and a part of community. Our box has some amazing athletes and some regular people like me who improve each day. Mastering my first on-my-toes push-ups at age 54 has inspired me to finally master my pull-up any day now. And with the amazing support of my coaches and teammates, I know I will accomplishment my goal. My only regret--I did not join CrossFit Ammo years ago! Less

I LOVE AMMO! When I finished college, being a division one athlete, I had to find something competitive and and to be that "filler". I tried a box right out of school and unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience. I told myself that I would never go back to CrossFit or lift a heavy weight again. About a year and a half later, I heard that Erin, Santee and her brother started a box out of their home garage and had just opened up their own place in Allen--so I decided to give it a shot again. I was a little hesitant, but from the minute I walked in, it was such a different experience. The coaches took you through a beginners program and really focused on your form. I trusted them not only as coaches, but as friends. I love CrossFit Ammo and honestly, if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have given CrossFit another shot.That was 3 years ago... For the first year, I lived about 3 minutes from the box and I was able to make it 6 days a week, which was great. I now live 25 miles away and still continue to go as much as possible. Ammo is my home, no matter how far away I live. I probably drive past 10 boxes on the way to Ammo and there is one less than a mile from my house now, but Ammo has always been worth my time and absolutely worth the drive. I was lucky enough to be able to workout at Crossfit Ammo for about a year and a half before I left for college in August. That year and a half meant so much to me, because in that time Ammo became one of the major parts of my life! Here’s why: 1) The coaches: The coaches at Crossfit Ammo are some of the most knowledgeable, encouraging people. Each coach has so much knowledge about Olympic lifts, mobility, and cardio that there was never once a workout where I felt unsafe or like I was uncomfortable with a movement. Beyond safety, the coaches are always there to encourage you and push you, which is something that people miss in traditional gyms. Every coach at Ammo is genuinely interested in seeing you become a higher level of physical shape than you were in before, whether you are just looking to get in shape or looking to become a better athlete. They are all supportive of everything that you do, in and out of the box. For instance, I was lucky enough to have 3 coaches come watch me swim at high school meets last year, and Leah and Lee were there to see me qualify for our State Championships. That meant so much to me, but that is just the kind of thing that these coaches do, because they are so invested in each member at Ammo. 2) The physical gains! I have been a competitive swimmer for some time, and am swimming on scholarship in college. I was looking for some kind of extra workout that I could add in, and was directed to Ammo. I can honestly say that I would not have the opportunities that I have today if it wasn’t for Ammo. Each workout pushes you out of your comfort zone, but as I was told by Coach Lee, if it isn’t pushing you a little further, you aren’t going to get any better. The mix of weights and cardio is perfect to get anyone in better shape, and I am so thankful that I found Ammo. 3) One of the most important things about Ammo, The members: Everyone at Ammo is always positive, encouraging you through the last few reps in a really tough workout. Everyone really acts like a team, and I learned a lot about how to be a good teammate at Ammo. People would always come up and talk to you and be open to you, and I just know that when I was a new member that meant a lot to me. Mentally, when you are working out in an environment with so much positivity, it is very difficult to NOT be in a good mindset, and it makes succeeding physically much easier. After working out at Ammo for a year and a half, I can say that it is a great place to workout and get in the best shape, but also a great place to meet awesome, like-minded individuals, and constantly be encouraged to get better, both in and out of the box! I drive 25 min to AMMO, passing three other Crossfit locations. In the more than 2 years of being a part of the AMMO family, I've never considered changing to another. While there are many great places w/ other nice members, There Is Nothing Close to the "Value" and "Genuine interest in Health / Wellness" that they provide. AMMO is the best in the business!!!! An amazing box with a high sense of community. Being my second time back visiting this box, the whole Ammo staff and members quickly embraced me as if I was already one of their own.
