I ended up saying I would come alone or not at all and the person cancelled my appointment.The good news from this experience is I had thought it unwise to buy hearing aids from an audiologist associated with an ENT and wasn’t planning on buying hearing aids from the organization of the ENT I was scheduled to see in the next week. I changed my view and ended up buying hearing aids from Minnesota ENT. They didn’t insist that my husband come with me for a hearing test or to buy hearing aids! Less

Yup, my ears were experiencing high frequency roll-off despite precautions I had taken when I was younger; it's what happens to many of us as we age. We finally convinced my mother (70+ years old) that she was missing so much in life do to her extreme hearing loss. Jim made her feel at ease from the second we walked in. He explained what test he was going to perform and why. He went through the results of each test and made sure that we understood every result. He then gave us many options to correct my mother's hearing loss. The degree of my mother's hearing loss was shocking! I couldn't believe how bad it truly was. BUT.... after all of the test, and all of the results Jim fitted my mother with the perfect set of hearing aids. She was extremely hesitant about getting hearing aids because of cosmetic reasons. But Jim assured her (and he was right) that her hearing aids are virtually impossible to see.
