Clean, organized and welcoming environment. Sensei Chad offers a good mix in the classes enforcing discipline, focus and good form. Classes include mixed martial arts and self defense. Children are moved through at a good pace to ensure they have a good grasp on what they are learning. Children also have fun while learning great skills.

Very dedicated teacher and the lessons are very good for the kids, so they can learn how to have discipline and have fun at the same time. I like the way he teaches them. We are excited for our boy!

We love this place! We interviewed several dojos before we selected South Lake Karate Academy. Sensie Chad offers a perfect balance of discipline and fun atmosphere for the kids. My son enjoys the classes very much. He's learning about karate and a bit of jujitsu. There's good emphasis on self-defense and building self-confidence. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend. My daughter couldn't sit on the sidelines watching her brother learn and have fun, so she joined too! Now both of my kids attend and look forward to their karate lessons. I can’t say enough positive things about them! The instructors are all so kind and patient. They have an amazing balance of being encouraging and positive, while also making sure the students know what is to be expected of them and what behavior is not acceptable. We love going to South Lake Karate Academy! We started when my son was 4y/o and he didn’t have any experience with other kids and was very shy. SLK is a great karate school. My son has been here for over 6 years. He has learned so much. Camps are fun. They get to go to the local parks, bowling, skating and just play at the dojo. My son loves SLK.

My grandson (9) has been studying karate at SLKA Besides learning karate (very well), my grandson for going on five years. Besides learning karate, students develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. They learn valuable character traits, like respect, self-confidence and self-discipline.

My Experience: I took my son to South Lake Karate Academy Summer Camp. It was probably one of the worst decision I've ever made. He is only six years old and needed to have someone who would make sure he would eat his lunch. My child came home with his lunch I packed not even touched a few times and there was no other food offered. I was promised that the children would receive martial arts lessons and a uniform. My child was not instructed in martial arts and never received a uniform. I was unhappy with the services and asked for a refund for classes not to be attended in the future (per the contract, if you are dissatisfied, a refund will be issued). The instructor/owner strongly refused to issue any refund and not willing to work with his customer at all. I was treated disrespectfully and poorly as I listened to excuse of the camp being reserved in full capacity, yet there is only 4-5 kids there in total and I was told there would be 12. Every time I got my child from the location, he was in a back room without any adult monitoring the children. The kids seem to play video games on their own devices while the owner sits on his phone or computer. I regret ever sending my child to this place. Due to miscommunication and misunderstanding, I was under the impression that I could change up the schedule and get full refund if we are not satisfied. However, that is not the case at all, once Chad Love receive my payments, he is on a mission to keep all to himself tight. As a full time college student major in business finance and a parent of two children, I advice the owner of South Lake Karate Academy, that is not how you do business and how you treat your customers. Parents, avoid the summer camp in this place at all costs. Less

We have been coming to South Lake Karate for several years and am always impressed with the instruction and the level of care from the teachers. They want the best for every student and make it fun. The kids like the classes so they want to be here. Chad and his staff are top level instructors. You will not be disappointed.
