I just moved here from Birmingham and was searching for a gym to join. Tried out a few before landing here. Knowing absolutely nothing about CrossFit. I was very hesitant to join. However I’m glad I did. The coaches and members here are very welcoming and make the gym feel like a community. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

Man O War fitness in Lexington is the best gym including various exercise options with an amazing atmosphere!! All instructors are super supportive, helpful and even provide some tips for diet!! I had never done Crossfit before and they have helped me safely learn and get accustomed to every workout. Highly recommend coming here!
This place is open 24/7. After hours you get a app to come in. This is one of the better Crossfit Gyms in Lexington. The Coaches there are wonderful and great. Coach Taylor, Johnnie, Graham, and JP give a great energy to the class when they teach. They have a great knowledge of the Crossfit movements. They all can see what the individual needs to be for effective.

This is the greatest gym you could ever join! 24/7 access, a variety of equipment to choose from, and knowledgeable coaches who will help you reach whatever goals you set for yourself. They have assisted me on a personal level as well as with the Lexington Women's Rugby team. I've been a member here since 2017 and it is worth every penny and more.

I love this gym. The trainers are happy to show me how to improve my form when lifting. The group classes are for all ages, and the ages in the gym are from 20-70. I do personal training with Jason. He busts my butt but is nice about it. ha

I came in the definition of skinny fat. I'm still skinny fat after the 6 weeks, but more toward the skinny side than the fat side! I did manage to put on half a pound of muscle in the span of the 6 week challenge. Due to my size and weight I did have my meal plan modified roughly half way through the challenge because Clayton, one of the coaches, wanted to ensure I didn't lose to much weight. My situation of course is very different than most that enter this challenge. I was not overweight, but I was also not in shape. I can feel and tell a difference in my overall fitness level from the day I walked into my first workout. I had the phrase when I first started and I still do now. "Don't let those around you stop you from becoming the most fit version of you." I'd suggest this gym to anyone who asks. While I primarily worked with Brooke and Clayton the other trainers were still around and happy to help. I look forward to my year with all of them and my new peers. Less

Joining the 6 week challenge is the best thing I've done for myself! The coaches are incredible and I truly enjoy the workouts. Seeing the changes I've made definitely makes me want this even more for myself. I can't recommend Man o' War Fitness enough! My roommate told me about joining the 6 Week Challenge and probably the best impulsive decision I ever made was doing it with her! The meal plan was very doable and the workouts (from intro to building up) are excellent. This gym is amazing. I’m on the last week of the 6 week challenge and the results I’m seeing are amazing. The trainers all push you to try harder and don’t let you slack. The classes are doable for someone who isn’t in shape, has never worked out before, or someone who needs to change their workout. I’m the type of person who doesn’t know where to start when I go to the gym on my own. That’s why I enjoy going to this gym. The trainers explain everything and push you through it! I really liked the bootcamp classes offered at Man o War. The trainers were very knowledgable and worked to correct your form during classes and showed adaptive strategies for all fitness levels. The 6 week challenge was a great way to kick start healthy routines and drop a few pounds quickly.

I recently completed the 4-week challenge at Man O' War Fitness. The goal was to lose 12 pounds or 3% body fat. Here are what I consider the pros and cons from my experience. Pros: This was truly the first time I have enjoyed working out since high school. The owners and coaches are extremely nice, the workouts are well planned and safe, and you find your confidence growing in your abilities from day one. Everyone, including your fellow classmates, is supportive and it's a very positive environment to work out in. The facilities are clean and the equipment is up to date. I ended up going to 15 classes, even though we only needed to do 12 to complete the challenge because I enjoyed it! The diet plan is very strict but achievable with proper meal prepping. Overall, I would love to continue with these classes in the future. Cons: If you need to lose 20+ pounds, you'll do just fine in this program and the weight will probably melt right off. If you're like me (I had lost 30 pounds already this year) and only had that last little bit of weight left to get rid of, this 4-week program may not be the best option for you. While losing weight, I also built a lot of muscle and those seemed to balanced each other out. Overall, I only lost 6 pounds, so I was banking on the body fat loss to win the challenge. I lost 2 pant sizes, stuck strictly to the meal plan, and could tell a massive difference in my body and strength as we got closer to the final weigh-in. When the final day came, the body scanner malfunctioned, which is entirely what this program is based off of in order to prove that you've won the challenge (body fat and final weight). My original day one weigh-in showed a 29% body fat reading. When I did my final scan, it told me I now had a 36% body fat reading, which left everyone confused. I ended up doing the scan 4 times in total, getting 36%, 32%, 29%, and 27% readings. It made little sense considering I did ultimately lose fat, even if I built muscle. The owners looked into the problem over a period of a few days and I went back in for a final sit-down to figure it out. They ended up offering to refund half of my $300 deposit since I technically hadn't won the challenge because none of my 4 results were at the 26% I needed. While I am happy that they didn't keep all of my deposit, I am disappointed that I did not receive a full refund, as there was clearly an issue with the body scanner and it couldn't be confirmed that I had an accurate reading. Again, great for anyone who has 20+ pounds to lose and wants to gain strength - I’d highly recommend it. Hard to lose 12 pounds/3% body fat in 4 weeks if you don't have a lot left to lose. I'd recommend a longer challenge or regular classes. Less

I am just finishing up the 6 week challenge and I am extremely happy with Man O War. The trainers are nice, knowledgeable, and attentive to the class. I never once felt like they were not watching our form and they were always encouraging us to push ourselves. They are always ready and willing to answer any questions that come up about nutrition, aches, modifications, or anything else.

The trainers at Man O' War Fitness are knowledgeable and walk you through the exercises carefully explaining why and which muscle groups you are working. The trainers push you hard but never in a manner that would injure a participant. In fact, they modify all training for each person's fitness and training level. Every workout is different and fun. The final transformation of my body was amazing. Fat melted from every part of my body and I grew stronger with each workout. I needed a boost during my weight loss process and Man O War Fitness was exactly what I needed. I've been going to Man o' War CrossFit for about 6 months or so now and I have to say, I have seen and felt my body change more over the last 6 months than I ever did just going to a regular gym. Taylor is such a knowledgeable and helpful coach.
