My wife and I lived just down the road from Heritage Ranch and we still think of our walks and times there very fondly. It’s a beautiful place to get a great view of deer River and amazing restaurant. It’s a great place to make memories together as a family.

I love Heritage Ranch but I find their prices for their experiences to be ridiculous. $261 dollars for a half-hour sleigh ride for two and you get complimentary hot chocolate 😂 No, the price of the hot chocolate is probably included in the $261 dollars. I'd love to support them more but not when the prices don't fit the experience.

For the second time it’s safety that has been our main concern . At no time did we receive any instruction to remain in the carriage on our return to the stables. So when we did start to get off , with young children , another driver coming in decided to shout instruction at us . A little too late . We already had two children out on the ground . Instead of stopping and insuring the children are safe he drove his horses on by , barking his orders to remain on the carriage . Once we could see other people leaving the other carriages, we started to unload our carriage . We had three children leaving the rear of the carriage , when the sleigh started to move backwards, with the rear step go over one of the small children. The adults struggling to remove the children out of harms way . Not one member of staff came to see if everyone was okay , I guess they had our 450 dollars now . 10 years ago my mother was riding on one of Heritage Ranch’s horses , when the saddle slipped round and she was thrown from the horse . I do not like the idea of sharing large plates of food with my lunch companions, some plates including sirloin as an example. Unfortunately, I now have to reconsider my Saturday lunch options unless, at the very least, one can continue to get soup! PS. Must say that I am disappointed with the response. Every meal is a "social event." I am, of course, aware that there are many "soup and sandwich" places - however in this review I am discussing Heritage Ranch. I do have another option - when I bike to the ranch I can always pack a lunch! You need to be aware that it is not only price that determines if you are a "high end" restaurant. Heritage Ranch, Sports Hall of Fame and the surrounding parking lot is the starting place for my favorite walk into Red Deer. There are a few variations you can take to suit your fancy. It's always a rewarding walk.

Did the date night! Beautiful place and area! The dessert was the best part of the meal and the carriage ride topped off a perfect anniversary night with my husband!

Near is amazing trail, one of my favorite! Clean streets, couple of toilets on the way, amazing views with river and lakes! I love it so much! You can meet a lots of animals! Great area for picnics, and just have nice time!

The new menu is ridiculous. It's really expensive, and is supposed to be family style/ shared. We paid 40.00 for one piece of chicken to share. We ordered the smashed potatoes to go with, but they were delivered 15 minutes before our chicken. Our chicken was overdone as well. There was little, to no variety. I liked the old menu. We'll never go back.

We love horses but trail ride was very basic and needs some grooming definitely not our best experience however staff was great just would have expected more for price and a better groomed trail (branches hitting in face for tall people and scratching up arms etc) very slow ride

A super fun hike. The stairs are like freaking fantastic for running up and down for a good cardio exercise, and the river is beautiful. Suuuuuper good walk. The restaurant near there is awesome and the place is also great for cross country skiing in the winter!! Great trails that are very well kept during the season .

Wow..awesome trails...beautiful scenery and the walking trail nearby Alberta hall of fame is about 20 mins and ends with 158 steps..it's great,even a pond to fish for trout,I believe. Must check it out,worth it.

Enjoyed the Spartan here. It's nice that they allow the space for events such as this.

We went to Heritage Ranch for a date night, very cozy atmosphere, background music was great, sets the mood, lol meal was fantastic, steak was done to order, dessert was a sticky bun, waitress was wonderful, definitely go again.

Great place to explore and play. Doesn’t matter the season there is a lot to do from cross country skiing tracks, to biking and walking paths, parks and so much more. Great for kids to explore and interact with animals and play on one of the two parks. If you are driving through or live in red deer it is a good place to go

Delicious food and great activities. Took my late Mom on a carriage ride and she loved it. It's a beautiful location year round, but my favourite is autumn.

Coming from Calgary, the ranch is a perfect spot to meet up for a visit with friends from Edmonton.

Well worth the drive from Calgary. The staff are friendly and inviting. The restaurant on the ranch is quiet and perfect for a relaxing night. The menu is $$ _ $$$... but you get what you pay for. Best of the best. We will be coming back soon. Sleigh ride was authentic and if you have not been on one it is worth it. An adventure well worth trying!!!

Beautiful date night here with my wife taking a sleigh ride through the snow with thousands of lights lining our path and warm cups of cocoa in our hands. Simply magical!

NOT impressed! Our family was looking forward to a beautiful sleigh ride Christmas Eve , BUT Heritage Ranch cancelled our ride because they said they double booked us??? Huh?? We booked and paid for well in advance of the day. Very disappointing for our family as our whole evening was planned around this event. Not happy!

Met at the Westlake Grill for lunch after previously going there for brunch. I had the blackened chicken sandwich, and the chicken was tender and juicy. The staff is awesome and the view is very nice. I've attached brunch photos.

Wonderful place, great trails

I go to the ranch every year. They have horse back riding and a great restaurant. There are many trails you can mountain bike on or just got nature exploring. It is located by the Reddeer river as well. On hot days you can float down the river.

Good mix of cocktails and drinks. Good food. Friendly staff. Great outdoor patio in the weather months which is dog friendly!

Do not take the kids on pony rides here. Complete rip off! I took two, one got a ride around the paddock three times, the second only two times. For both kids, it was over in ten minutes for a cost of $25!!!! The girl leading them around could have cared less about her job or the kids having fun. Spend your money anywhere but here!!!

My girlfriend booked the Fathers Day Brunch it was very good ..Steaks cooked perfectly. My only complaint was a bit hot in the restaurant Also not very appetizing eating and watching crackheads hanging around

Airways a great stop for the family. Part of a great loop that I like to run. Kids love to see horses and one of the best restaurants in red deer is there

Beautiful patio!! Dog friendly- will bring our pup next time. Great and friendly service. The chocolate dessert was 10/10.

Don't know where these silly "local guide" badges come from...but I've been a resident for 36 years (born here) and Heritage Ranch has been a staple of the community. You can bring your family for a wonderful walk by the river, connecting all the way to Bower Ponds...or have lunch or a romantic outing. I remember horseback riding there many years ago and the horse bucked up in a huge gust of wind...I felt like Lawrence of Arabia. Went for a visit the other day and it was very relaxing, clean and beautiful out !! People going by on the walking trails, great staff, just beside the river and lots to see especially if you're into horses ! Say hi to Joel when you go ! He's the owner and he does a great job running that place

Good resturant. And amazing trails , for price of bison rib eye. They should cook carfully . asked for well done and come out rare. Then asked if i wanted it warmed up lol

Went for mother's day brunch was not worth 45 dollars they never checked on our table unless you tracked down a server overall disappointed

I bought the romantic vacation package I believe it’s called. The jacuzzi room that came with the package was nice. Big like a hot tub. The slay ride and five course meal was nice. But as I find out and five course meals are a thing stretched out. Something to keep in mind. All in all it was a good weekend in red deer. Something to try once.

Went to the Easter egg hunt which I assumed was for children . You need a smart phone with a QR code reader to partake in the Easter egg hunt ..my three year old granddaughter doesn’t have a smart phone with a QR code reader . Really ridiculous
