I hate to leave a bad review because the front desk people and nurses were really kind and the place itself seems nice. I saw Dr. Miller in late 2025 because I had been having trouble swallowing for a few years and wanted to finally get it looked at. When he came in the room, he barely wanted to talk about my issues and went straight to an endoscopy. Which I guess is fine, I wanted one. But the scope itself smelled foul. Like... before he even put it in, it smelled faintly of feces, or I don't know, it was just foul. That's the best way to describe it. I was really concerned and messaged them about it afterward and got no response. He did the endoscopy very fast, and then told me something like "I don't see any abnormalities, it's probably your voice box. This happens to a lot of people." When I tried to tell him my symptoms, he just told me "yeah that's normal. You can google your symptoms and google will tell you if something's wrong." I'm sorry, but I have never had a doctor tell me to google something. In fact, every doctor I've seen has told me not to google stuff as it can lead to misdiagnosing yourself, or making your anxiety worse, or keep you from seeing a real doctor. So it was just odd for him to refer me to that. When I told him about my concerns that it could be something serious, he chuckled and said "well if it's been happening for a few years now and you're otherwise doing fine then it probably isn't that serious." Something along those lines. Which again, was very odd to hear. The whole appointment just felt rushed and dismissive. No follow up from them. Just a "you look fine, now be on your way" kind of attitude from the doctor.Again, I hate to leave a bad review because I really respect medical professionals, I know it's a hard business to be in and I'm grateful for the work they do. But I have never experienced something like this. I'm worried about the cleanliness of their scopes they're using on people, I've never experienced a scope smelling like that before.I don't want to assume anything, but I'm not sure if it's because I'm self-pay that they treated me like this? The reviews for this practice seem to mostly be all positive, but I did notice that there was another review from another self-pay patient saying they also had a bad experience. So maybe just don't go here if you're self-pay. I don't know. But we are people too, our health matters too even if we can't afford insurance.Thank you and I hope the best for everyone involved here. Just wanted to give a heads up on my experience.
