Christiana took my two bitey pups that were impossible to manage out of the home into first-class citizens! Everyone at this facility is extremely talented & knowledgable in what they do as well as kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring. I am so pleased with how far my boys have come during the 6 week board and stay. During their training period, the facility provided weekly updates on the progression and well-being of the dogs through report cards, photos, and videos which was very much appreciated.The pups love going back for boarding, day camp, and other weekend trainings like the City Dog classes, which is proof to me that they feel safe and loved at Canis.For the first time in 6 years, I am able to confidently take my dogs out in public and this is all thanks to the wonderful hard work of Christiana! Thank you, Christiana, Bobby, Brennan, Hunter, David, and every single amazing person at Canis!

Canis is the best! We were desperately looking for a day care for our two GSDs after the place we booked for two days was not equipped to care for our dogs. It was a stressful situation because we were in the midst of a move and had packers at our house. From the second I spoke with the intake coordinator to the time we picked up our babies they were in the absolute best care! Our GSDs took to the day play coordinator like they already knew her, no barking, no whining, no hesitation. Blue, our boy went straight to the coordinator and gave her a kiss on her nose. That has never happened! My husband was in disbelief how safe our two GSDs felt. As a parent of two reactive rescue GSDs you have no idea how much of a relief that was. The facility is great and they have a awesome day play program to keep your dog engaged. I wish we had found Canis earlier. We are leaving the state. Highly recommend!!!

Kaitlyn was our dog’s trainer for 6 weeks, and my mom and I couldn’t be more grateful. She was not only patient and loving with our 1.6-month-old puppy, but equally patient with us — always taking the time to answer our calls and texts whenever we had questions. What truly set her apart is that she understands the language of dogs and took the time to understand our puppy’s unique personality. She was simply the right fit for him.Her weekly photos, videos, and detailed notes were incredibly informative and helped us understand exactly where our puppy was in his training and what we needed to do once he came home. The Sunday training sessions were also a wonderful touch — they gave us the chance to work on what our puppy was learning each week, made the time apart a little easier on all of us, and I’m sure he missed us just as much as we missed him!We love that we now have a shared vocabulary to communicate with him — and he actually understands it! He has become so much calmer and more manageable, and although the real work is just beginning as we put it all into practice, we already see confidence and calm in our dog — and in myself.Even after the board and train program ended, Kaitlyn has continued to support us through the transition. We are so thankful for her dedication and care. We wholeheartedly commend Kaitlyn, the entire CANIS team, and CANIS itself — you won’t find a better team to trust with your dog!

My experience with CANIS was great. You CAN (IS) teach an old dog new tricks! They were professional and friendly, and most importantly, effective. Lady came home after 4 weeks of board and train with new confidence and skills. I'm so happy with the progress she has made and I'm happy with the continued support I'm receiving with CANIS. Absolutely phenomenal, these people 100% know what they are doing and I could not recommend them more. We had some concerns over their methods in the board and train program that we brought up to them, so they had us come in for a free mid-week 1 on 1 training, completely addressed our concerns in a way that was totally positive and not dismissive at all, and were completely transparent with everything they were working on. I love my dog more than anything in the world and I feel that same positive dog-loving energy from them, I trust them 100% to take phenomenal care of my baby and it’s completely worth the money. Even just a week and a half into the four week board and train I am seeing my dog do things I never thought would be possible.

Kaitlyn was so patient with our rescue dog! We used a lot of cognitive behavior treatment in the sessions which seemed to be the only thing that worked for his biting and aggression. I also liked that we were able to use real life situations and actually brought other dogs in the mix as part of the training. I think this place is great and definitely helped with our pup!

Christiana is the best trainer we could have ever wished for. She treated our Simba like her own, and Simba’s love and trust toward her showed us just how well he was cared for during his 4-week day board-and-train program at CANIS.When we first brought Simba in, he was fearful of other dogs, had little understanding of boundaries, and we honestly couldn’t imagine taking him out comfortably in public anytime soon. Fast forward just 4 weeks, and we came back from a trip to Huntington Beach where Simba joined us everywhere — restaurants, busy streets, the beach, and crowded public places — and he was incredibly well-behaved for a 5-month-old puppy.To be completely honest, in the first couple of weeks after getting Simba, we started doubting whether we had made the right decision. But after his time at CANIS, Simba has truly become one of the best things that has happened to our family.What makes Christiana even more special is the love, patience, and care she showed not only toward Simba, but also toward our girls. She took the time to teach them tips and training techniques, patiently answered questions, and even worked around our schedule whenever we missed group sessions.We are beyond grateful for everything Christiana and CANIS have done for our family. If you are looking for someone who genuinely cares about your dog and is deeply invested in their growth and success, we cannot recommend Christiana enough.

I'd give Canis 6 stars if I could! True professionals who truly care about their clients, and truly understand dog psychology and behavior. I've worked with a few dog trainers. Canis are the best I've ever encountered, by no small margin. Brent is the *best* and our dog KK just *loves* Jenn!

I could not be happier with our experience at Canis Dog Training and the 4-week board and train program with Hunter. The transformation in our Cali girl was incredible. Hunter’s knowledge, patience, and professionalism were obvious from day one, and he truly cared about building confidence and good behavior — not just quick fixes.Cali came home calmer, more obedient, better on leash, and much more responsive to commands! Canis and Hunter also did an excellent job teaching me how to continue the training at home so the results would last long-term.The communication throughout the program was outstanding, with regular updates, progress reports, and videos that showed just how much progress was being made. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing our dog was in such capable hands.If you are considering a board and train program, I highly recommend Canis Dog Training and of course Hunter. Also, a shout out to Brennen who was the trainer that conducted the initial Puppy Academy that we did early on. The investment was absolutely worth it, and the results exceeded my expectations. Training our pup with Kaitlyn at Canis has been the best experience!! We are so glad we did overnight training and our doggo has the best manners now. We can now take him on hikes and to the beach with no worries. A wonderful investment 10/10 recommend!

We've now had two of our dogs complete the 6 week board and train course with our lead trainer Kaitlyn. Not only is she great at her day job (the training part), but she really cares about the dogs, which was just as important to me (it's hard sending your dog somewhere for over a month!). But you could tell immediately how much both of my dogs loved working with her, and every week we visited for training, you could see that work clearly pay off. Both Kaitlyn and Brent really went so far above and beyond helping us navigate our dog's behavior issues at home, I just can't recommend them enough. The same goes for every trainer at Canis. It doesn't matter who you're speaking to, they'll know your dog like she's their own, and you'll feel like you're part of the tight knit Canis family. Olive and Rose miss you all!!!

We can’t say enough great things about Kaitlyn at CANIS Dog Training! Our Australian Shepherd, Wren, absolutely adores her and it’s easy to see why. Kaitlyn truly understands the breed and how they think, which made such a difference in our training experience. She customized everything to fit our family, including working with our teenage daughters so we’re all consistent and confident with Wren.Thanks to Kaitlyn, Wren is now able to join us at restaurants and just about anywhere we go, which has been a game changer for our family. She’s also doing great with her off-leash training and continues to improve every day. We’ve learned so much and feel set up for long-term success. Highly recommend!
