We brought our 5-year-old Husky, Mia, in for training, and from the very beginning, every staff member was amazing. After our initial consultation, we knew this was the right place for us. Since then, they have not only met but exceeded every expectation we had. Christiana was Mia’s trainer, and she did an exceptional job. She, along with the rest of the staff, took the time to build a genuine relationship with Mia, and I truly appreciated how supportive and encouraging they were throughout her entire training journey. If you think your dog is too old to start training, Mia is proof that it’s never too late! We’ve already seen such a positive difference in her, and I’m so excited to continue her journey through the group classes and watch her progress even further. The team is also incredibly flexible and willing to work around your schedule, which made the entire experience even easier. My son Rusty has fine-tuned so many of his skills he learned from his board and train in the City Dog group classes! He has become a lot more desensitized to other dogs while on the leash, and can navigate public spaces in a more organized and calm way. I feel way more confident taking him in public and am less anxious about him having a freak out when other dogs are nearby. I highly recommend the City Dog group classes!

I am so glad a neighbor told me about CANIS. The experiences we have had so far have been super positive. We have a 5 y/o pittie/kelpie mix and a 7 month GS/malinois mix. We have had both pups stay with them for short-term boarding, and they always come back happy and well taken care of. However, the real magic of CANIS is the trainers. We were looking to start our Remy (GS/malinois mix) in training right away, as she was definitely living up to the "maligator" nickname, chewing and biting everything and everyone. I chatted with Hunter to learn more about CANIS and the services available. That first conversation immediately put me at ease. Hearing his own experiences of having the same breed pup and all that CANIS could help us with felt like the right decision for us. We signed up for the Puppy Academy I class, and I'm grateful we did. The first class with Brent felt like a lifesaver! He immediately got my pup to calm down when she was acting like an overly anxious, excited pup (I think my jaw literally dropped). Hunter came to meet Remy before class, too, affirming that we made the right decision. We have since completed Puppy Academy I and II with Brent (outdoor long-leash training being something I didn't think we could ever do with our pup), then made the decision to put her in the 4-week boarding and training program. Seeing videos of Remy calmly walking in stores and listening to Hunter's every command made my jaw drop again! Truly the best decision we could have made. Brent, Hunter, and the whole team at CANIS took such great care in training our furry baby and us! They do an excellent job in explaining the psychology of what's happening with our dogs, how we can help them learn good behaviors and make better decisions, and become more confident pet parents. Our Remy is now able to walk on a leash without chewing it, thinks before trying to bark at other people/dogs, and has gotten much better at not lunging at everything and everyone. I feel way more confident when walking her in our neighborhood to the point a neighbor asked if I was a trainer. I HIGHLY recommend CANIS to everyone and will continue to take more classes to keep leveling up our pup's training.

five stars for bobby and jen - they spent over an hour speaking with us and listening to our concerns for our dogs, bowie and bennett. they were patient, non-judgmental, and warm. while we have decided to go to another training program that's closer to home and with our neighbor and their new puppy, i just wanted to say thank you! and let bobby and jen know that our pups did very, very well in big bear (at the airbnb, the lake, and even restaurants and shops!) - maybe they heard and understood your guys' tips! wishing you all, humans and pups alike, only the best.

We did so much research when looking into board-and-train programs, and after visiting CANIS, we knew this was the place we wanted to go with for Brutus. We had such a wonderful experience with Kaitlyn and truly cannot recommend her enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly informative, helpful, and so easy to talk to. She always took the time to explain things in a way that made sense and made us feel completely comfortable asking questions throughout the entire process. First off I want to thank everyone at CANIS, especially Christiana💕, for all the love and work they did with Scooby. My baby was the most aggressive and anxious dog I've ever own. He would attack anyone, including me, bark and bite any chance he had. After a month, he is now a confident little man with almost zero aggression. I know he's still adapting, but I can see the immediate change in him. I'm beyond proud of him. Everyone here truly loves your dogs and want the best for them to conquer the world. Each week I got a report card that made me feel at ease. Christiana thank you for loving Scooby and making him feel safe. CANIS and our trainer Kaitlyn have transformed our lovable but very excitable Bucky. Bucky attended the 4-week board & train program. We have noticed a huge improvement in his behavior and discipline (e.g., heeling during walks/runs instead of pulling, sitting/laying down on command, staying quietly in his crate until we wake up) - our friend who is one of Bucky's biggest fans even noticed a big difference! Kaitlyn was very communicative and responsive and provided weekly photos/videos and report cards that contained detailed updates regarding Bucky's progress. We are looking forward to the additional training sessions that are included in the board & train program!

So I have a now 1year old Australian cattle dog mix which I adopted and who lacked confidence by the end of the initial evaluation Kaitlyn (Who was/is) our trainer stated “by the end of the week I will have him catching snacks” “he’ll love coming to school “ and let me tell you something BOY WAS SHE RIGHT!!! She has been a god send and the whole team at CANIS! They’re 100% honest and helpful it’s been an amazing experience working with them to get my little fur baby to a place where he can enjoy the world not only are they communicative but they welcome all question and essentially give you the tools you need to ensure you have a well behaved pup!! As someone who was extremely nervous and skeptical of board and training—I can truly say it was the best investment. But what made the experience first class was our trainer Kaitlyn Prisk. Kaitlyn is the type of person who takes pride in her craft and will love your fur child like her own. Her patience, communication, and genuine care were evident from day one. She took the time to understand Nellie’s personality, walked us through the process every step of the way, and made sure we felt confident and prepared to continue the training at home. What stood out most was how personalized the experience felt. Kaitlyn tailored her approach to Nellie specifically, and the results speak for themselves. Nellie came home happier, more confident, and so much better behaved than I ever expected.
