I wasn’t just looking for a personal trainer, I was looking for someone with the knowledge and skill set to train athletes. Matt was more than that and beyond. Coming off an injury he was able to gage where I was at physically and apply movements and exercises to get me mobile again. With Matt’s guidance and progressions in my training; I was able to get back on the ice and compete as an Ice Cross athlete representing Canada. With his phenomenal understanding of his field Matt was able to help optimize my performance on and off the ice. I recommend Matt to anyone looking for an elite level trainer.

Matt is an absolutely incredible trainer, vastly knowledgeable in body mechanics, effective training techniques, and nutrition. He also happens to be highly charismatic and supportive to his clients which makes training with him an absolute pleasure. As a relative beginner to the gym, Matt helped me to establish the fundamentals, as well as personalized our work outs to address persistent sciatic pain which has been a huge relief. To my surprise, his cliental is quite diverse, ranging from older adults looking to correct health problems, ‘gym bros’ trying to keep themselves in shape, as well as total beginners. I would definitely recommend Matt to anyone looking for a knowledgeable trainer in Waterloo Region.

Today was my last session in person with Matt. It was bittersweet. It was bitter because of the simple fact I'm moving away and won't get to experience this man's (and this gym's) heart in my life anymore.Matt is the best at what he does. He knows PEOPLE. That's not only the body, but also the mind and soul. He pulled up a chair and listened just as well if not better than setting up the next set. This is what kept me growing and improving as a man. I am so much stronger now than I was 10 months ago. My body composition has changed, and that includes the mental. Taking with me what I gained here, learned here - in the fire, that's the sweet. Last August, I finally bit the bullet and decided to seek out a personal trainer. I knew I needed to take my health more seriously and start recovering from the ordeal of the previous few years, but worries of money, the time commitment, and getting up early enough to hit the gym before work, were constantly holding me back.I met with a few different personal trainers before I found Matt at Titan Training. Nothing against the other trainers, but I spoke with Matt for over an hour, and he's so incredibly friendly and likeable, my mind was put at ease, and I took the plunge into training with him.Three months in, I am so happy I took that plunge. Matt automatically zeroed in on the areas that need the most work; a well- rounded approach to overall fitness and wellbeing, but especially building up my energy and working on some mobility issues that have been plaguing me for years. Matt's also given me some stretches and exercises I can work on at home in between our gym sessions.I've got a long way to go, but now I know I'll have a fighting chance with Matt's help. The past few years have been very difficult, but Matt's guiding me through the recovery, and I know I'll be better equipped to deal with life if I'm fighting fit!Thank you for all your advice, support, humour, and time, Matt. Matt is the best lifting coach I’ve ever had. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but he’s also one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with. Lil’s gym is a small and welcoming community. Training with Matt and becoming a member of the community was something I really needed. In terms of lifting progress when I met Matt I had experience with the hex deadlift as I had issues pulling conventional. I previously would max out around 245lb x5. Not only did Matt help me to diagnose and correct the nerve issue I had, with his guidance and some grit I was able to work up to a 1rm of 405lb conventional at 150lb body weight. I would highly recommend his services.

Matt is absolutely the most knowledgable personal trainer I have ever worked with. He’s helped me go through the best and most sustainable body transformation I have gone through so far. His training programs are definitely killer, but the results more than make up for it. I feel healthier, I look better, my energy levels are always high, and I sleep like a baby. Matt’s encouragement during training has helped me break personal records in timeframes I’ve never thought were possible.He’s also helped me through some pretty painful shoulder mobility problems that I had developed from years of poor posture. He showed me a whole bunch of exercises and stretches that have helped me get rid of any pain I experienced when lifting, and my mobility has improved tremendously in the 8 months I have been working with him.He always has answers to even my stupidest questions, and will go on hour long highly informative talks if nobody stops him. If ever he doesn’t have an answer for me (which is very rare), he always gets back to me the next time I see him with a very well researched plan and explanation for whatever it is I need.I recommend training with Matt to everybody I know, and I owe a lot of my progress to him.

I had been very athletic in highschool, but suffered a back Injury that took me out of sports completely and in the 14 years after, a decade of working at a computer, and having 4 kids, I knew something needed to change.At first I sought out a personal trainer because I wanted someone to hold me accountable to going to the gym - no more false starts of going for 3 days and then coming up with a plethora of excuses why I couldn't go again, or re-injuring my back. I chose Matt since his reviews looked great - and ho boy did they not even begin to do him justice.With Matt yes I did get someone to hold me accountable to going every day, but it's so much more. Every session he's educating me on body mechanics, proper nutrition, lifting technique, and more. He's trained me in a way that my back has never been stronger and I'm lifting more than I ever have without feeling like I'm at risk of putting it out again. For the first time in over a decade I'm feeling significantly more confident in my own skin, and it's thanks to his dedication as a trainer to you seeing the best in yourself.If you choose Matt as your trainer (and you should if you aren't even looking for one in my humble opinion) you're not just getting a trainer, you're also getting a teacher, and a friend. It is impossible to put my experience into words but here goes...Throughout the last year, I have been privileged to work with Matt at Titan Training and train with him 1 on 1 toward achieving my goals in strength training. Before working together Matt took the time necessary to truly get to know me. He strived to understand why I wanted to achieve my sought ought goals, encouraged me to look deeper, and challenged my understanding of why I was coming to the gym in the first place. With all this information in hand, we embarked on a yearlong journey that molded me into the man I am today.Using fitness as a foundation Matt designed my plans not only for me to grow physically but to grow mentally. Each week he took the time to assess my progress on both dimensions and speak to me as a real person, not just a number. Like many people, I gained weight during the COVID-19 pandemic and started to feel insecure about how I looked. I knew I had to do something. After researching and speaking with several personal trainers in KW, I decided to work with Matt.We trained together about 5 days/week from August 2021 to December 2021 and about 2 days/week from January 2022 to March 2022. During that time, Matt helped me lose 30 lbs, which was more than 1/6 of my total body weight.Matt worked around my schedule, made me a custom meal plan that accommodated my dietary restrictions, and was consistently kind and supportive, even when I was super grumpy and clearly didn't want to be at the gym. More importantly, he gave me the tools and the confidence I needed to continue my fitness journey without him. I've lost an additional 5 lbs and continue to workout 4-5 days/week.I couldn't have done any of this without Matt. He's the real deal. He's also easy on the eyes haha. If you want an incredibly knowledgeable trainer with a lot of heart, I can't recommend him enough.

Im not a client of Matt’s, but I do want to share how wonderful he has been to me over the past while. Ive known Matt for a few months now, I see him often at our gym with other clients. One day he approached my boyfriend while we were training and offered to give him some squat tips. After a while he then was giving my boyfriend all kinds of stretches and exercises for back pain, for squat mobility, etc. I think he spent about 30 minutes with him. I was so impressed after listening in a bit with how much knowledge he was sharing not just about lifts but on the physiological aspect, so I approached him and asked for some advice. I had been struggling with excruciating upper back pain at the time and I didn’t know what it was. He immediately took interest in my situation, he spent about 30 minutes with me diagnosing that I had a rib out. He gave me some sleep tips and helpful stretches to reduce the pain, and actually took the time to do the stretches with me and made sure I was doing them correctly. I went to the chiropractor and sure enough my rib was the problem. Since then, every time I see him he asks me how my rib is feeling. He asked me how I was feeling last week, I told him I was having shoulder pain. He spent an entire hour with me helping me with stretches to reduce my shoulder pain. No charge, just wanted to help. This dude genuinely cares so much about the wellbeing of others. You can just see it in his face when he’s working with someone. He is so kind, personable and so insanely knowledgeable, more than willing to do whatever he can to help you. Do not even hesitate to choose him as a personal trainer, I believe he can help you with ANY goal possible!!

Some trainers may respond with simplistic things such as "increase calories and go to failure" or some other, basic response. However, Matt immediately responded with in depth voice notes citing several great articles (which he linked as well for further reading) and taking me through how he would attack this problem. He provided an incredible blue print that I am still using now even after that 4 week training period has closed.Matt, if you're reading this, thanks for helping me out and always being awesome.

Matt is by far the most knowledgeable and encouraging personal trainer I’ve ever had! After training with him for a couple of months, I saw a remarkable progress with my body and strength as well as my knowledge with exercises. He not only teaches you how to properly execute certain exercises but he also provides physiological explanations and how the body benefits from it. He made me grow a love for the gym and pushed me to an extent I did not think I was capable of. I now feel confident going to the gym with the knowledge I have gained from him and understand how to program my workouts to target my needs. I would highly recommend him as a personal trainer for anyone whether you are a beginner or an experienced individual at the gym as he has lots of unique and effective types of workouts that I guarantee you will always learn something new from him! He really takes his time to know his clients and what their needs are and caters to that perfectly! You will not go wrong choosing matt! I met Matt late summer of 2021 as he approached me and offered to help me with my benching technique. I could immediately tell he was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of fitness. He was very professional yet welcoming and kind. I was a retired university varsity volleyball player who had been competing and training at a high level for over a decade. He has continued coaching me over the 7 months and I have progressed in all aspects of my fitness because of his knowledge and help. Coming into fitness with a strong athletic background but major injuries and compensations matt was able to level me up as an athlete but he also change my mobility and functionality for life. Putting on at least 30-40 pounds to all my major lifts (squat, deadlift, bench) over the last 7 months all while losing about 20 pounds of body weight and tending to/fixing many of my volleyball based injuries and limitations (posture, inactive muscle groups, compensated movements). I’ve worked with nearly a dozen trainers/coaches over my athletic career and the way matt has been able to have me progress is simply amazing. You simply will not find another pt with as much knowledge, passion and desire to help and work with others. Matt will help you with whatever goal you desire to work towards and achieve. Extremely lucky to have him as my trainer and am excited to see how I continue to progress.

Matt is an amazing person and a fantastic personal trainer/coach.I'm an ex NCAA athlete. I took on a sedentary lifestyle and as a result worsened existing injuries while also adding new ones. The first thing Matt did was assessed my current state and figured what needed to be done to get rid of my back and knee pain. Within a very short period of time I was able to walk up and down stairs without wincing in pain.Matt has been very attentive to the things that work for me and adjusted his workout plans to suit my needs. Not only that, but Matt is a fantastic conversationalist and cares deeply about not only your physical health a but your mental health too.I'm hitting goals, getting stronger, and losing weight and I wouldn't be able to do it without Matt. I sought out for a personal trainer to help me as I was just beginning a paramedic program and I needed to pass a rigorous lift circuit by the end of the first term in order to continue on in the program. Before beginning training with Matt, I had never lifted a weight in my life.Matt structured a program specifically for me to ensure I would be ready to succeed in my test. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable in all things about the body and it’s mechanics, he truly cares about his clients and will be your biggest cheerleader.There were countless times where I doubted myself and thought I would fail my physical test, but Matt always had confidence in me and always encouraged me. I passed my physical test and I truly could not have done it without him and his guidance and support.Some other things I accomplished with Matt were being able to do push-ups when previously I could never! We also started deadlifting and 85lbs was a struggle for me, then 7 months later and my best is 200lbs.Training with Matt was an absolute joy and I cannot speak highly enough of him.

He’s super friendly and positive - makes you feel comfortable, while at same time giving you the right amount of push to reach your goals. His approach is both academic (I have never met somebody with more diplomas/certificates within his field/profession) and practical at the same time. I saw Matt because I was suffering from back pain. The type of back pain that you feel from the moment you wake up and can barely get out of bed, until the moment you fall asleep. It was a gradual onset over 5 years that would come and go, but every time it came back it was worse. Eventually it just wouldn't go away. I didn't want to resort to pain killers for 2 reasons, they don't fix the problem and they are very addictive.Matt took the time to investigate my daily and weekly routines, where the pain is, what makes it better and what makes it worse. After educating me on what the reasons of my back pain he helped me understand what to do to correct what I could. He also educated me on how to strengthen the back so that it becomes stronger. He stared me off on basic strength and coordination exercises (eventhough I'm athletic) and we progressed to more difficult exercises over time.Thanks for your help Matt, I'm now pain free!

Coming from a heavily yoga-informed time of my life, I never would have even imagined that I would be lifting weights in a gym. Now, after a year training with Matt, my body is more toned, I can run 8K, my mind is more resilient to mental challenges that would have previously been too much for me. Matt's incredible knowledge of the mechanics of the human body, the power of motivation, his strategic teaching skills and his quick and infectious smile have helped me learn the benefits of explosive power training as a complement to the passive stretching of my yoga practice. I have been training with Matt for the past 6 weeks, and have learned more in that time than I ever thought possible. Matt has a wealth of knowledge second to none, and is extremely open to sharing that knowledge with everyone and anyone. He is very approachable and genuine in his training style, but will definitely push you outside your comfort zone (in a good way...not in the “you’ll never want to come back” way!). He ensures that he caters to the needs of whoever he is training, and doesn’t simply use “cookie cutter” programs like some trainers often do. He does what will benefit the client first, and never have I felt that he did not put thorough thought into our training together. Lastly, the term “ego” comes into play when talking about some trainers, but Matt couldn’t be further away from this term; he is an awesome guy and an amazing trainer!If you are serious about results as well as enjoying the process, do yourself a favour and book an appointment with Matt. I met with Matt to discuss training sessions with him as i suffer from severe lower back pain. I walked in with a bunch of excuses and reasons as to why I won't go. He sat there listened to me and gave me the confidence and courage to get into the gym. I am at the gym 3 times a week. I push myself harder then I ever have. Matt is so knowledgeable and he created a program based on me and my capabilities. I absolutely love him from venting, to swearing at him, to calling him to keep me on track. He is one of a kind, he has helped me so much. He is an amazing trainer who takes time with each one of his clients and teaches the proper techniques. Anyone who works with him will tell you how amazing of a person he is. If anyone is ever hesitant about joining he's definatley the person to talk to and work with.

I heard about Matt about 2 years ago, meet him and instantly knew he would be a great trainer. At the time I wasn't ready to have him train me. I have now been working with Matt for over 2 months, and in the past 2 months I have seen a huge difference in my body, strength and ability to grow. Matt is NOT like corporate trainers at all, and I should wash my mouth for even typing that, but he isn't "one of those". He is so knowledgeable, and makes sure he works on what needs to be worked on then moves to the goals you have as a client. I can't thank Matt enough for making sure I progress to where I need to meet my goals. I'm 9 weeks in, and never want our journey to end. I had little to no gym experience beyond Grade 9 Gym class, and could barely get through 5 pushups, which I apparently had been doing incorrectly for 25 years. I work at a desk all day and felt completely self-conscious walking into a gym full of people who look like... well... Matt.
I walked into TheWreckroom about 8 months ago and met with Matt to discuss training options. Right off the bat, he made me feel comfortable in the gym environment and we put together a plan. I first met Matt about 4 years ago when we worked together in the restaurant industry. Now, he has his own brand and company that is continuously progressing and becoming better and better. He is a great friend as well as a personal trainer whom I've been lucky to train with over the past year. I've moved weights I never thought I could and done movements I've only wished of being able to do. He is one of the most knowledgeable human beings I know and his work ethic is extremely admirable. He continuously pushes his clients past their limits and helps them reach their goals even when they themselves don't believe they can. I've always been terrified of taking big steps. I've done casual sessions at box gyms, I dabbled in Crossfit, and I've bought home fitness equipment to avoid taking bigger measures. Nothing worked. Then I met Matt Daciw of Titan Training and the Wreckroom, Kitchener. I'll be honest, sure, I was intimidated. My mind always got in the way of what I was actually capable of. It was Matt that helped me overcome those hurdles. After only a few sessions, I was feeling stronger and lighter. One month in, I had lost 13lbs. I could touch my toes, something I haven't done in decades. But that's nothing compared to the mental conditioning Matt help me with. He made me believe in myself again, that nothing could hold me back, and whatever I wanted was there to be taken! I haven't felt this good in 20 years, and it's all because Matt believed in me. And now I believe in myself. I can't thank Matt enough. My life has changed forever. Before I met Matt, I suffered with back pain for 20 years, I suffered with shoulder pain for 15 years, I suffered with knee pain for 6 years and most recently would get headaches that would sometimes last 6 months long.Before I met Matt, I was going to the chiropractor and masseuse weekly just to maintain somewhat of a normal life. I would frequently fall down the stairs because my knees would give out and twice I even fell holding my infant son. About a year and a half ago, I ended up breaking my rib from falling and it was a big wake up call that I needed to find a better approach to my health. I'm only 35 years old, what was my body going to be like at 50?I have now been working with Matt for 4 months. After 4 months of mobility training, I am 99% pain free. I still have bad days here and there, but they are few and far between.I'm amazed that I can walk 20,000 steps in a day and feel no pain, I'm amazed that I can stand at an event for 8 hours and feel no pain, I'm amazed that I don't have to second guess myself every time I come down the stairs, I'm amazed that I can play and keep up with my kids, I'm amazed that I only have to see the chiropractor for check ups once a month and the masseuse is more of a luxury...but most of all, I'm amazed that my path crossed with Matt's.I have worked with many trainers in the past, but no one has ever come close to helping me the way Matt has helped.

I had a great experience with Matt at Titan Training. My goals were unusual... I needed to be ready for open heart surgery and wanted to be as fit and strong and ready as possible. Matt listened, designed a program for me , initially corrected some imbalances in my form and posture and increased mobility in my shoulders and hips. From there we moved to functional training to increase strength. I the space of four months I lost 30 lbs (very diet related) and added a ton of strength and fitness and was able to get through the surgery and recover quickly. Matt was more than my trainer and coach, he was my cheerleader, my listening post and my friend.

With his guidance, I've dramatically increased the strength of my key lifts and increased my joint mobility in matter of weeks!! These are attributes that greatly supplements my martial arts training! Very knowledgeable and professional trainer, highly recommended!

Looking for an amazing, uplifting trainer? Look no further. Honestly.
Six months ago I tore my ACL and was waiting on surgery. I was advised to get as strong as I could going into the surgery so I figured I may as well do this properly so I contacted Matt. From the first consultation I knew I was going to be looked after. He was so driven to help me be the best I could possibly be and pushed me to build up all the strength I could prior to surgery. Now, 2.5 weeks after my surgery my doctor is amazed at my progression. He says he rarely sees people have so much movement. I attribute that to Matt and how thoroughly he researched appropriate exercises to not only cater to my busted knee, but to give me a full body workout as well.
I plan on doing my post-surgery recovery with Matt and build that strength right back up again, and this time with an 'almost brand new knee'!
I would highly recommend Titan Training for anyone. Whether you're looking to get into better shape, drop a few sizes, or gain some muscle, Matt is definitely the guy you need to see!
