I love taking salsa lessons with Baila DC. They create such a supportive and fun environment for learning and growing my salsa skills. The instructors are affirming and encouraging. These classes are a highlight of my week :)
I initially found out about Baila DC through Instagram. I attended one of the open social dancing nights and had a great time. That led me to signing up for their 6-week beginner series, and I've been hooked since. I've done one round of the 6-week Level 1 course and I'm on my second round of the 6-week Level 2 course. It's been so much fun learning to dance salsa; and more generally, it's been satisfying to see myself improve at a new skill. The classes are fun and enjoyable. The instructors are very passionate about salsa and their passion is contagious. They really do a good job of slowly guiding you through the footwork, really working on the building blocks of how to step and spin so that you can naturally progress to more advanced moves. I'm so glad I found Baila DC--it's been a wonderfully welcoming and encouraging community of folks with a passion for salsa dancing. Anyone with even a mild interest in dancing salsa would enjoy signing up for their courses, or attending the Thursday socials at La Cosecha! Just some final notes for those thinking of signing up: - They teach Salsa on2 - 6-week classes run $150, which I find to be reasonably priced given what we're paying for (and especially in comparison to the general cost of living). I can think of a lot worse ways to spend $150! Less
Great and fun classes! Would definitely recommend.
This class is so much fun! Normally I feel like I have two left feet, but I learned so much so fast and had a great time. Thanks, Luz and Gerardo, for making such a fun and laid back class!
Awesome classes and staff for salsa intermediate. It doesn’t get better than Shaka for your instructor.
Pretty good spot to learn salsa, correct your steps, and work on your technique. They offer different classes that focuses on different objectives and goals. Solo footwork, partner work, styling...(check their site for classes) Prices aren't bad. Owner/instructors are amazingly talented. They slow down and speed up depending on the tempo of the group, so don't be too worried if you're newnew. You do have to practice on your own time to get the most out of the class. Theyre also connected to other dancing socials in the area. I havent had the opportunity to go yet because of my sch. but I hear those tickets also sell out, so don't wait too long to snag them. The location isn't too big nor too small. Plenty of parking, and stores at your convenience. All around, its an amazing and lively spot to learn salsa without going all the way to DC Less
Guys… Baila DC is the thing!!! Join and check it.
Awesome classes, the instructors are wonderful! Highly recommend!! Also check out their social at La Cosecha in DC on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays. It's super fun and lots of great dancers come out!
BailaDC is the best! Instructors are talented, encouraging and inclusive even when everyone’s experience and skills are a little different. Classes are fun, varied and I always walk away with something new. They’re truly building a community, not just offering a service.
I first heard about Baila DC in 2023. I've salsa danced for many years, but never "On2". Began w/the level 2 intermediate class w/Gerardo at LaCosecha in DC - LOVED it and the instructor!! Got hooked, and then took the more advanced level 3 Transitions class in Wheaton, MD (at Roda Movements) under instructors Andrew and Luz - LOVED it too! Their Thursday night socials at LaCosecha are also great and well attended - I've only been able to attend once but will be going more frequently. If you're just learning salsa or have prior experience, Baila DC is a great place to take lessons and social dance. Highly recommend. Less
