I began working with Dr. Flory 4 months ago in hopes of resolving symptoms I had been experiencing for the past 6 years associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Many people with CFS can attest to walking away from a doctor's appointment with feelings of heaviness and frustration after being unheard and dismissed – this has never been the case with Dr. Flory :) From the start he gave me acknowledgment and took my condition seriously right away. At the initial consultation and at each appointment, Dr. Flory has always taken the time to answer any questions I may have. I believe he genuinely wants to educate his patients, and I never feel like I am being talked down to or rushed out of an appointment. It is a rarity to find any doctor with such expansive knowledge of the human body and an overall understanding of real human health. I greatly trust his insight and respect the clear passion he puts into his work. After my first CBCT scan, I appreciated the animated visual of my misalignment that was sent through email. The interactive report is a great educational resource concerning nervous system health. It can help you and your family more easily understand how a spinal misalignment can be the underlying cause of some of your health issues – which is a very helpful thing to have in a case like CFS, where others may not necessarily understand or believe that something is out of balance until they see it clearly laid out for them. Since illnesses are built over time, it makes sense that it will take time for the body to recalibrate, for ligaments to heal, for nerves to regenerate, etc. By realigning my atlas, I have certainly seen glimpses of healing and improvements in some of my symptoms, while of course we are chipping away at others. Beyond the physical, I can also say that the adjustments have enabled me to release some stuck emotional energy that had been locked away for some time. With NUCCA, I have more faith now that my system will eventually be able to create a new coherent pattern and regulate itself. Honestly, I was not sure after all that I had tried day-in and day-out for years before this treatment. I will add that I have been a photographer for over a decade and realize that carrying heavy equipment around my neck has contributed to my spinal misalignment. Dr. Flory was very open to me bringing in my gear in order to give me a few pointers on how to better hold it to lessen the strain of it. Eventually we will also work on correcting the curvature of my neck which will further help to reduce symptoms. For the time being, Dr. Flory has shared a few daily neck exercises to lessen up the tightness of the muscles. As a note to hyper-sensitive patients, I can tell my body appreciates the gentle approach of NUCCA compared with other harsh chiropractic adjustments I have gotten in the past. Those adjustments were a shock to my system and I was never able to hold those corrections for too long. As in any living system, there is less resistance to change when a gentler approach is taken and this holds true for the body. I also appreciate that NUCCA knows when not to give an adjustment – that it honors where your system is at in a given moment. I think I will always be enamored with how such a delicate process can enact such profound changes within the body. The energy of any doctor you are working with is so important, as this truly does have an impact on the outcome of your healing. Dr. Flory and his receptionist, Kristian, are incredibly genuine and always wonderful to interact with. When I began to have numbness and tingling down my arm with no explanation as to why, I knew it was time to look for different answers, and that’s when I discovered NUCCA. Now, my hips and shoulders are level, I no longer have any numbness/tingling down my arm, and I have no pain! I’m a very detail oriented person and I love how the NUCCA approach requires very precise images and calculations of angles in order to create a custom adjustment. I also love how it’s extremely gentle and there’s no snapping/cracking/popping of my neck. I first saw Dr. Flory as a patient when I was on a temporary job in California. I’m SO THANKFUL he is now in the Midwest!!
