His method was very different from the other restoration companies I had spoken to and he guaranteed his work and process. His team arrived quickly and got everything done! I was impressed. However, it took him a very long time to submit my invoice to the insurance company, which was holding me up from completing my claim to get the money I needed to repair the floors that had been damaged in the flood. Russ told me he had a power outage and didn't have access to wifi to send the invoice, but he would take care of it as soon as his wifi was back up. A week went by...nothing! Each time I called or texted to inquire, he ignored me. I had to have a friend of mine call from his phone in order to get him to pick up the phone. How terrible to ignore a customer! Russ finally sent the invoice to my insurance company, so I was able to finally get my floor restored. I called and texted him to let him know the floor was done and I wanted to know when he would come back to put the baseboards back up that he took down during the restoration process. Silence again. No phone call or texts back. Guess what I had to do again?? You got it! I had to have my dad call from his phone and guess who picked up right away? Terrible! He told my dad he would call me to set up a time to come back to reinstall the baseboards....I'm still waiting for that call. I would NEVER, EVER recommend this company. Everything is fine until you have an issue and then you get ignored and pacified with broken promises. I hate that I paid him the whole amount because I know if I had held some money back, my baseboards would be back up. We contacted several different restoration companies and ended up going with Russ Burley - owner of the Restoration 1 Hartland location. Russ immediately made contact with us and was pleasant to deal with through out our whole restoration process. This was our first house claim and first water damage experience so we didn't know what to expect. Russ came to our house for the initial meeting and was very detailed and helpful. One of the first things I noticed about Russ was the first impression. He arrived in his official restoration vehicle and put on shoe covers before entering the home. Although we didn't mind, it was a nice/professional gesture. Russ did not, at any time of the process try to sell or scare us into using his services. He provided suggestions and advised that he would do as little or as much as we wanted. He provided a free inspection report to our insurance company and even gave us some free antimicrobial product to use. Russ stayed in contact with us throughout the process and made an additional stop to inspect the drying process and levels. I was truly amazed at the amount of customer service Russ provided to our family. He had every opportunity to make alot of money off of us and at times, we would have spent it due to the over whelming amount of stress we were dealing with. We will absolutely, without a doubt, utilize Russ Burley from restoration 1 for any future needs and will refer him to family and friends going forward. Everything was fine up until we realized there were missing items. I was understanding about the items that were missed outside of the sunroom. We had a fire in the sunroom and the base of it was thrown outside and put out with an extinguisher. Everything was fine up until we realized there were missing items. I was understanding about the items that were missed outside of the sunroom. We had a fire in the sunroom and the base of it was thrown outside and put out with an extinguisher. However, there were items inside the sunroom that they did not return and were not placed on the non-salvageable list for my insurance company to cover. One of these items was was a shop vac. I had called back twice about this. The first time, the guy on the phone mentioned he remembered the shop vac and would have the office call back. I had never received a call back. The second time, I was promised a call at the end of the day and still received no response. It appears that once they are paid out by the insurance. They no longer care what was missed and what happened to your items. At minimum, from what we are aware of is missing. We now need to replace a $150+ item completely out of pocket. I'm left with a lingering concern that there was more than just one item inside the sunroom that went completely missing. Less

As we couldn't clean until the issue (get a new pump) was resolved, Russ did not charge us for the appointment. We were shocked!
