We go in (my wife still limping from the birthing) and find a seat near the door. We take out our laptops and both jump onto zoom meetings. Well, less than 10 minutes into our meetings, we're are bothered by a worker, who told we'd have to leave if we didn't purchase something. We explained that we would be purchasing food and drinks - after our meetings. The lady walked away and then audibly whined to her manager about us in the back room. Manager came over less than 5 minutes later and told us to leave - interrupting our meeting and gravely embarrassing us to the point where I had to go to 7 consecutive 3 hour therapy sessions to overcome the trauma. I still can't walk by this coffee spot with out having shivers of PTSD - and my lovely wife has been similarly affected. Since the experience, I've had to get a vasectomy, fearing that the triplets may have cursed my wife and my luck. For a while, I actually believed that the triplets were bad luck and in some way contributed to this awful experience - but, my therapist has reassured me that the triplets had nothing to do with it. The reality is, according to my therapist, that the employees working at Northtown coffee (at least on the day I visited) were projecting their own personal insufficiencies and limited faculties. I take no pleasure in writing this review, but am doing so as a PSA to the Humboldt Community, which I love so dearly. Less

Was really unimpressed with the $7 dollar latte and the service. Barista was not very nice.

It's a pleasant place to grab a hot or cold beverage or snack and people watch or chat with friends or colleagues. The menu is interesting and the vibe is eclectic and inviting..

I tried the deluxe egg sandwich from their new breakfast menu this morning, and it was incredible. The aioli was such a perfect touch. Well done.

Um excuse me the pastries lately?!! 🤤 The coffee cake is the best coffee cake I’ve ever had and the vegan options taste don’t even taste vegan. The pumpkin spice latte they make in house is also incredible. 💕

Twice they have not been open at the time they say they're open. This is a big waste of customer time.

I loved this place! The staff were so kind, and the little house look was so cozy! We had coffee and some breakfast treats from the bakery. They had an option between light or dark roast, which I really appreciate!! The eats were really good and tasted homemade with love ♥️ 10/10!

Came in and the lady taking our order was extremely unfriendly right off the bat. Coffees came out quick and I were great but the food (burrito and waffle) took 30 min to come out…? After asking what the ETA was for the food the guy working was kind and offered a punch card and apologized about the wait but the lady was again just rude. For context it wasn’t busy in there.

Loved the vibe and location of this place that we found via Google on our way through town. Coffee was great, bagels and cream cheese were good enough. The friendliest service and a really sweet atmosphere. Holly was so sweet – even remaking my wife's coffee when she realized she'd placed a different order. Coffee was terrific, and we also ordered the breakfast burrito + blaze’s bagel, both of which were awesome. We'll be making this our staple next time we come back to town, looking forward to it!

Northtown coffee is my favorite hangout spot in town. The coffee is superb and their drink selections are amazing and unique. The service is off the charts and makes me feel cared for and special. Great cappuccino

every single time i go to Northtown for coffee, i am never unsatisfied. the coffee is always delicious (AND they have coffee ice cubes! in the shape of a honeycomb! it's so cute!!!), and the atmosphere of the inside of the café is SO comfy-cosy. all of the baristas have been incredibly kind and sweet and accomodating, and it's always just such a joy to get to come here. 100% recommend!!

Great coffee and food in a beautiful space! Went here three times for coffee and a quick bite while I was in town and Charlie was there each time making very pretty lattes. Everyone was so friendly! The pastries were to die for (must-try danishes) and their colab with Mother’s cooking made for an incredible brunch. Definitely a mainstay of gorgeous Northtown, I’ll be back!!

This was exactly what we needed to start our day. Upon entering, we were greeted with a friendly smile and peppy hello. The barista was very patient with our indecisiveness (there are just too many intriguing options!) and supportive of our choices. I enjoyed and appreciated the unique menu offerings with all the health boost options. Plus, the bakery and other treats in the case looked delicious. We also enjoyed the Mother’s Cooking menu. I got a bowl and my husband got a burrito. You could tell it was made with whole ingredients and love. I left feeling nourished and happy! Sidenote, there was a patron there who seemed to be mentally disabled who greeted everyone in the place and interacted with the staff every few minutes. I was heart-warmed by their kindness and patience with him. It just reinforced my mind we had found a gem of a spot. I don’t foresee us in Arcata ever again, but if we are, we are definitely stopping at Northtown. Less

My go to spot for sitting down with my laptop and having a delicious drink. Lattes are a bit pricey, but worth it for the taste and quality of ingredients. Getting house made coconut milk is included in the price if you’re dairy free! The blueberry muffins are killer, as is the Portuguese rice pudding. I always feel welcomed by the friendly staff, too!

My friend and I shared the Mother's Kitchen Cubano Sandwich and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. They were two of the best sandwiches we ever had!! Also the Matcha Rose latte was delightful!

I get the green dragon every time and I love it SO much. Had the lemon pancakes today and it’s just…. SO good. And with delicious pastries by Patch? Truly a perfect breakfast 😍

Friendly baristas (hard to find nowadays) , fresh and hot food that seemed really intentional and nourishing, and good coffee! Would definitely come back! If you’re a coffee nerd just ask for your flavored beverage half sweet :)

(There were 5 ppl in line at ramones at about 7am this today when I tried to get matcha there because old muddy waters doesnt open till 8am, but they are the only place in town with matcha so... i was forced to wait.) The egg and potato breakfast bowl at Northtown is absolutely amazing. Always came here for a lavender dream coffee and have tried some food items on the menu, but this one is it. Staff are all so incredibly sweet as well :)

Have been loving the food lately. Anything between croissant breakfast sandwiches to shrimp n' grits- it's all delicious. Great and friendly service. It has quickly become my favorite coffee house in Arcata.

awesome local spot with actually good espresso which is super hard to come by in humboldt!! They have free wifi (sometimes spotty), and a super cute set up indoors and outdoors. They close way too early for being in a college town in my opinion but I make it a habit to go here mornings I’m not in class or at work.

If I could give this coffee shop an extra star I would. Super sweet, local spot with a unique vibe. Kind, patient employees who have awesome music taste. The perfect place to grab a drink and something to eat to fuel yourself for some study time with their free WiFi! Indoors and outdoor seating too! How epic. I love it here! 110% recommend.

Northtown Coffee is part of my daily routine. The staff is awesome, the building is special, and of course the beverages and food are always amazing. High quality ingredients and proper preparation make for a good cup. The super shroom mocha is a special treat!

Amazing people here. So we couldn’t decide. Oracle dog through the arch says, the ‘Cosmic’. And so it was: cosmic. It had shrooms! Just kidding it was delicious and no we didn’t hallucinate the wonderful bathroom mural of Gaia holding the world tree. But I had the compulsion to buy a bunch of mushroom stickers! (Thanks mellow guy from SF for chasing me down w my notebook.)

It was pretty cozy and had a nice local theme, along with the local theme was also thr high price theme. I've seen much worse prices before but theirs are nothing to take so lightly. Overall very nice place though.

I ordered a hot latte and expected it to be hot. And what I got - luke warm drink that costed me $6. Very disappointing.

Love the specialty drinks and the people who work here are super nice!!!
