Awesome chopped cheese! Very meaty and flavorful. Portion sizes are generous and there is good amount of meat in there. I will warn you it's quite indulgent and heavy but that's just how chopped cheese is. Corn nuggets are perfect. Don't miss out on those. Less

I'm visiting Flatbush from Pittsburgh and was down walking around Jacob Riis beach all afternoon, so needed a snack. Years ago I'd heard about the mythical "chopped cheese" sandwich and have been wanting to try one ever since, so I looked for somewhere to grab one along the route back to Flatbush and Brooklyn Beef & Cheese popped up on Google Maps with good reviews. I know they're often an inexpensive bodega offering and the sandwich I got was definitely upscale from that. The guy who took my order talked about how they use steak as the base and also fresh grated cheddar cheese, not pre-shredded Sysco stuff or those plasticky slices of super processed American, which I appreciate. (I also dislike when Philly cheesesteaks are made with Cheez Whiz, because it's just gross.) I split the sandwich with a friend we wolfed it down right there in the car. It was super flavorful, very juicy and a good meat to bread ratio. Also, the bread was really good -- not too firm and not too squishy. Ordered this via takeout and it was really good! BUT I would have to agree with the majority of reviews that they just don’t use enough cheese. Not sure if they’re using shredded and just chopping it into the meat, if so it’s definitely not enough. Maybe just add the slices after the chopping so customers know cheese was added and they get that cheesy melt factor as well. Less

Decided to try this for the first time. Hardly no meat on the chopped cheese,tater tots had way to much salt, the regular spicy Philly cheese was decent. Burger was ok,wings were not bad better than I expected. The bread is the not that good,change your bread you will do so much better.... Save your money,not worth it. Ordered $80.00.take out. They forgot my corn fritters also. Been to Philly over 100 times. No where near a Philly cheese steak. Visited this place for the first time today, Aug.31st. My Philly cheese steak was salty, despite the fact I told them that I needed less salt. I brought 2 sandwiches, both was salty. I never bother to leave reviews but im sincerely happy i came here. I was having a really bad day but this little place and the way we were greeted by who i think is the owner just made me smile and lifted my mood. Firstly, everything was delicious, even my 6 yo ate the fries with spices on them which she normally refuses, and enjoyed the chicken tenders which she usually just barely nibbles on anywhere else we go. The service is great, the owner was patient with my confused indecisive ordering and made suggestions, told me he wants me to have a positive experience (where do you hear that anymore?) brought me everything i needed, but what really made the place is the positive energy this man has; very upbeat and happy to be doing what hes doing, and very welcoming. If I lived over here, there is no question I would order here once a week. I’ve been to Philly many times, no cheese steak can touch their Brooklyn Beef and cheese classic. Best I ever had. If you go to Rockaway or Riis Park, you got to get a couple sandwiches to go. The wings are amazing too, they must do a long marinade, probably the best wings in NYC.
