Slate Wrestling Academy is hands down one of the best wrestling academies in the state of Georgia. My son absolutely loves coming to practice and looks forward to every session. Coach Slate has built something truly special. The conditioning and workouts are incredible. If you're looking for a sport that builds discipline, toughness, confidence, and elite conditioning, this is the place.What really stands out is the family atmosphere. Coach Slate genuinely cares about every wrestler, and the team feels like a second family. The kids work hard, encourage one another, and still have a great time together at practice. I went in there not knowing much about free style or Greco .coach slate and his helping coach’s have stayed consistent ,with going over and making sure everyone improves. and giving people chances to actually go out and perform. I am very thankful to be able to have an opportunity like this .

Coach Ethan runs a great program here at SWA. Practices are fast paced and well organized. My son is new to wrestling, and Coach is patient while teaching proper technique but still holds him accountable if he gets lazy during drills.

Great coaches! There are many kids of different age groups so there is someone for each kid to wrestle with. Coach Slate takes his times explaining everything and also demonstrates with the advanced kids who are always helpful.

Awesome wrestling academy, our son went in with zero wrestling knowledge and has progressed a lot under Coach Slate’s direction. He still has a lot to learn but has really enjoyed it and has been very engaged through the great instruction. We will certainly be regulars here for a long time to come.

Ethan and everyone at the gym were so kind, welcoming, and supportive. Zayden really enjoyed his session and felt comfortable right away. The facility was very clean, and since he didn’t come in with wrestling shoes, they even provided him with a pair so he could participate fully. The prices are very affordable, and overall the experience was excellent. They even allowed my 4-year-old son to join in for a bit—he loved it and is still talking about what he learned! He’s a little young to start right now, but once he’s of age, I’ll definitely be signing him up too.

SWA is more like a team than a club. Whether your athlete is new and looking to learn or experienced and looking to compete on a national level, you are covered here. Update. A little over a year in and Coach Slate already has a Fargo All-American on the roster, a 2nd-year wrestler. He also has helped produce several others who are competing all over the country. I'm not only proud of the wrestlers, but I am proud of what Coach Slate has done for this community.

Coach Slate runs a top notch gym that can take any level of skill and build on it to help them achieve whatever goals you may be after. I have had 3 (17m, 11f, 5m) of my kids be a part of this gym at some point and all have had great experiences. Coach Slate and his crew are down to earth and focus on the success of all the wrestlers who attend this gym.
