For the first time in my life, I got really serious about training, because all of a sudden, I had a new interest and a fun goal. I wanted to start jiu-jitsu. I was pretty out of shape and had no history with combative sports, so I was nervous. So, to gain the confidence to sign up for a potential injury 😅, I trained alone consistently for close to four months at the rec center. During that time, I mentioned to my sister, Natalie, that it had been noticeably harder to get myself to the gym everyday due to how alone I was feeling in my workouts. Natalie started inviting me to "Bring a Friend Week" at Amaziah when they popped up, and I really enjoyed that overall boost I'd get from a class. It was totally new to me to be surrounded by welcoming people with similar goals that feel like, and sometimes are, my teammates! As one membership was coming to an end, I knew Amaziah was the obvious new choice, and a great choice it's been! With the encouragement from just about everyone who walks through those doors, and the guidance from the kick-ass, very knowledgeable, highly observant coaches, the most sought after part of my day is going in there to get better! Anna and Rev in particular, have led the classes I've been to in these last six weeks. They have torn me down in the best ways while building me up better, faster, and stronger. I tend to thank them after every ass-kicking class because I am truly grateful for them and Amaziah Fitness as a whole! This gym has all the good vibes, a hard to beat location, and the best Feng Shui! It feels like life is coming into balance.
