He really helped me improve my overall technique -- teaching me excellent exercises to build speed and dexterity -- and showing me how to apply music theory to the fretboard, to truly improvise like a pro. I started lessons with Ty unsure if guitar was something I would fully enjoy.From the first lesson, he helped me organize my goals and within 3 months, taking me from being lost with where to go with the instrument to developing a good baseline of technique and progressing towards my goals, much faster than I would alone.Ty is an experienced teacher who excels at availability, mentorship and keeping students on track. He has also kept me motivated multiple times during my time with him, most of which was earlier on due to my low experience, however, As I progressed further through Tys lessons, I began to develop a passion for the instrument due to the progress I was making.Tys’ approach to learning the fretboard is fun, unique and challenging (depending on how hard you practice). I not only obtained a confidence in my ability to learn the fretboard, I also obtained the confidence to be self sufficient with learning new things, if i choose.I 100% would recommend Ty to any guitarist looking for serious progress as a guitarist and as a musician.

Ty was a great fit for my daughter! She starting with zero experience and Ty was patient, knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. He has great experience and teaches in a way thats fun and exciting. She worked with him for 30 minutes a week for 3 months and gained so much experience and learned so many techniques from his lessons! Ty is a versatile and compassionate teacher, who seems to instinctively know when and how much to push his students. He is methodical or improvisational depending on what is needed for the given student. It is a rare teacher that tailors his approach to match his students learning style. This approach fosters an environment in which the most lackluster student (me at times) finds him/herself becoming invested in their own progress. This is the passion that Ty brings to his sessions. It rubs off on others. I have truly looked forward to each lesson, but what's more... One day I looked up and realized I was a better guitarist.

My daughter has been with Ty Keller for 2 years now and he has been a great teacher and a great influence on her. He interacts with his students individually and tries very hard to understand their perspectives. He pays attention to detail, progresses students at a reasonable pace, and genuinely cares about people. I would not take her anywhere else. There is only one 1-star review and it was obviously written by an angry person who cannot act his age. His use of offensive words and personal attacks just goes to show how low a person can go. Ty has never used pressure tactics and has a very fair price – especially since he caters to each person individually. In fact, I have flagged his review to Google since it was more personal than it was constructive. My daughter has gone from never picking up a guitar to recording a 5-song EP because of Ty’s great leadership and education. I would highly recommend him to anybody.

Ty is my guitar teacher and he’s super positive and friendly. He thought me to write songs, he thought me theory, chords etc. pretty much anything you’d wanna learn.
