If you enjoy countless visits due to shoddy workmanship, you should definitely visit Lasting Smiles! Long story short (see actual long story below): I went in for help with a sensitive tooth and they messed me up so bad I had to spend $2600 out of pocket at a different dentist to right their wrongs. I went in October because I had a tooth that was very sensitive. Dr. Ma suggested I come back and get a crown over my tooth. She said that if I don’t get a crown, I may have to get a root canal. I come back for my crown appointment and Dr. Ma is unable to numb me. She frantically injected me with 5-7 different vials of novocaine and numbed everything on the right side of my mouth except for my sensitive tooth. She described my tooth as a “hot tooth” meaning its sensitivity causes it to resist novocaine. She kept drilling into my not numb, very sensitive tooth & it was torture. She suggested I come back another day. I left that appointment in tears. Overwhelmed and uncomfortably numb. The numbness didn’t wear off for 6 hours and I went home with bruised gums. This is when I should’ve ran for the hills but I already paid for my crown. I went back a few weeks later, changed doctors and Dr. Ghodsi put my crown put on easy peasy. One month later, I experienced the most excruciating pain coming from the same tooth. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep and over the counter pain meds didn’t help. I woke up the day after Christmas with swelling on the right side of my face. I called Dr. Ghodsi & went in that day. They concluded that my tooth is now infected and I need a root canal. Dr. Ghodsi told me that they didn’t do a root canal initially because they take a “preventive approach” and “don’t do work that isn’t necessary”. But I believe they do that so you have to keep coming back. It’s a business after all! The infection in my tooth was so bad that they only did the first half of my root canal and sent me home w a temporary crown and antibiotics. They wanted me to heal before they did any more work on my tooth. The infection didn’t go away though. I went on three rounds of antibiotics (that’s 30 days straight of antibiotics) until it finally went away. I came back in mid-January to get my permanent crown and to finish the root canal that Dr. Ghodsi started. After the root canal, he told me two terrible things. 1) My teeth shifted from the temporary crown bc it was not a fit. Thus shifting my bite. (Adding that to the list of things I now need to fix because of them) 2) The infection ate away at my bone and I suffered bone loss (remember this detail, it is important later). He put on the crown and sent me on my way. Fast forward, a month later. I feel pain in the SAME tooth. I went to a different dentist and they told me the root canal was done poorly AND, yet again, the crown does not fit my tooth (photo attached). So they had to go back in and re-root canal my tooth. There was a possibility that I suffered so much bone loss that my tooth was cracked at the root. Meaning, it would have to be pulled. Luckily, this wasn’t the case. Unluckily, my insurance covers one root canal every 24 months. Since Dr. Ghodsi did my root canal on January 26th, I had to pay $1500 out of pocket to fix my botched root canal at another dentist. I had to pay ANOTHER $1100 out of pocket to fix my botched crown. All in all, this tooth caused me excruciating pain for over 7 months and I fully blame Lasting Smiles. I put my full trust and faith in Dr. Ma and Dr. Ghodsi. I hoped that they would right their wrongs. Mostly because they assured me that they would! But after SEVEN mishaps, it’s not about me putting faith in them, it’s about addressing how bad their workmanship is. You can defend one or two shitty work jobs but seven!? I will not be going back there and I don’t think they want me back if I’m honest. They won’t be surprised that I’m writing this review. Every critique in here has been said to their face by me or my mother. Save yourself time and thousands of dollars and don’t go here. Less

After reading the other 1 star review of insurance and office seemingly unethical practices, I would say it sounds likely what is happening. My Story: I visited this office after getting a scam diagnosis at ANOTHER dentistry. Right when I enter, I see a waterfall design at front and an elaborate bird "zoo" area. Immediately I kind of knew this was not a good dentistry. How do they pay for all of that? They must be hitting patients will aggregious amounts of over diagnosis/treatment and a lot of unethical insurance/pay practices. And then I got my full mouth exam and CONFIRMED my suspicions. They wanted to crown 90% of my upper tooth totaling $14,000. And the one tooth I wanted fixed, I knew all it needed was a filling. The dentist here recommened TWO fillings for it. I knew it only needed 1. But hey, what would I know I'm no dentist right? The thing is, I am sure that at least 80% of dentists will try to push something extra on their patients so that the dentist can make more money. Some are more aggregious than others. Anyway, obviously, I did not accept this treatment. These guys want money and the patient has to pay for it for the rest of their lives due to the treatment of filling/crown that has to be maintained/repaired over the years. Plus both will make the tooth weaker, therefore you will not be able to use your teeth like you once did, regardless of what material the crown is made of. This is because the weak part of the crowned tooth will be the part where the crown attaches to the tooth. I then looked at google for another dentistry, by luck I found one that gave me a conservative estimate and diagnosed my teeth the best one so far. The tooth that I knew only needed 1 filling? This other dentistry confirmed it. They fixed it with only 1 filling. Also, confirmed by mouth/tooth camera, they highlighted another tooth (that I knew about and have photos in my phone) that had a hole (looks like one drilled by a dentist 3 years ago and never told me about). This hole was now a cavity, and that tooth needed a crown. I knew that tooth would need a crown just by looking at it with my phone camera. I will not mention the name of the decent dentistry here because I don't want people to think I am advertising it. If you want to find it, look for a dentistry here in Vegas with less 1 star reviews about "scams" and "over treatments". It has a lot of reviews. The reason I am writing about my experience is that I would like more people to be aware of this kind of problem within our medical industry. The more people that are aware, the more they will hold the dentist or medical professional accountable. Also, why did I start looking at this more critically? When I chipped my front tooth and then went to get it fixed. The first dentist I visited only looked at the X-Ray and told me that the chipped tooth was hollow because it was decayed. Recommened the tooth be pulled and bridged for $9000. But I knew it wasn't because it was decay... It was CHIPPED off that's why it was hollow. Obviously got it fixed at a different dentistry with a filling and not a tooth extraction totaling $300. Dentistry #2 told me it was not severely decayed, just fractured. I just want to put something into perspective for you. A practice can make close to 1 million a year if they do a lot of treatments. At the end of the day, medical practices are also BUSINESSES. They are not like your priest or your friend. They are doctors/medical people BUT ALSO do business in medicine with the pricing and selling of treatments. DO NOT TRUST ANY DIAGNOSIS, I would say to get a 2nd/3rd opinion if you can. Less

Beware of this dental practice, in particular Joanna. No matter how nice and helpful she seems, whatever she tells you in terms of costs, take it with a grain of salt, and expect it to be wrong. I am not confident they billed my insurance properly and I am really not happy they misquoted me in they beginning. The normal bait and switch *sigh*. Either that, or they don't understand their insurance agreements enough to give you accurate financial expectations. I'm not trying to get out of paying, but something seems off. I will pay what I owe, if it is accurate. Joanna calls and texts demanding payment and sends me two letters (one certified) in the mail threatening collections. Good grief lady, give me a chance to find out why my insurance didn't pay you (allegedly)! I told you I was out of town and traveling. When I mentioned this to my husband, he told me he had a similar situation in the past with Joanna over $8.00, another insurance shortcoming. She threatened not to let his kids get seen by the dentist on the day of their appointment unless he paid the $8.00 he owed! I was very disappointed by the treatment and service I received from Dr. Ghodsi and the clinic. It was a horrible experience for me! I had my first visit to the clinic on June 15, 2022. At that time, I had a loose tooth and was planning to have an implant to replace it. My regular clinic could also do the implant and but it would take a long time to schedule. That's why I went to Lasting Smile Dental Care because they said they could do it quicker even though I had to pay for the cost of extraction because they did not accept my health insurance. I had a consultation with Dr. Ghodsi on that day and then decided to have an extraction and bone craft on the same day. We also scheduled the next appointment two months later for the implant. When I came to my appointment two months later for the implant, Dr. Ghodsi said a lot of things which were confusing and concerning to me. He asked me why I did not want to do an implant in another position. I said our plan was to have an implant in that position and that's why I decided to have the exaction done there at my own expense. I asked him whether it was still OK to do the implant as planned. He first said yes, but then kept saying a lot of other things. Finally, he said "I don't want to do it" and then walked away. This is the most horrible medical/dental experience I have ever had all my life. I wasted my money and time there! If you think it was not a good idea to have an implant there, then you should not have got me started on this. I definitely had other options. Before I left the clinic, the staff at the front desk told me that she would mail me a copy of the CT scan images. It is already over a month now, but I still have not received anything! ------ Here is my reply to the owner's response. You already had an evaluation in my first visit to determine that it was OK to have an implant there. That's how I decided to have the extraction with you at my own expense. I could do the extraction in my regular clinic for free, covered by my health insurance. Also, two months of my time had been wasted. My daughter fell and broke her front tooth. She is special needs and in a panic I was calling any dentist that Google pulled up. No one would take an emergency case but Lasting Smiles. They were caring and helpful with her needs. Dr Ma was incredible with her and the staff was so nice. I'm so happy I found them.

This is the BEST DENTIST PERIOD. I have been to many over (7) Dentist in the Las Vegas Valley and now I have a home.

Had an all on 4 dental implants done yesterday morning and it was not what I expected. pain yesterday evening when I got home but today has been very comfortable. Very little pain and I’m able to function. The staff and doctors took very good care of me and I’m super happy with my results so far.

I went in for a cleaning and exam as a new patient this afternoon after not being in for nearly 18 months, owing primarily to the pandemic and not feeling well. My hygienist, was wonderful and so kind, as was the dentist who performed my exam. The office staff was extremely friendly, and everything was contact less and sanitized, so I felt at ease. Will be returning!

I told them I would update my reviews, but due to this unethical request and the unnecessary hassle I had to go through, I will still rate them as 1/5 stars. After 2 long months of multiple phone calls to my insurance and the office, emails to the Dental Board and other associations, and my reports to the Better Business Bureau, Lasting Smiles finally decided to adjust my charges. Some patients would probably prefer to pay an unjust charge instead of going through this effort and time. As someone who works in Healthcare, I personally think it is important to advocate for yourself and what is right. I was a patient here for years, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND this dentist anymore. There is a high turnover rate of dentists, which also says something. I broke my upper retainer and came in to get it replaced. They put me in a room and gave me a bib. The manager came inside and stated that since my insurance doesn't cover retainers, it would cost $450. I called other dentists and found the average cash price to be $150-250. They kept coming in asking if I still wanted to get a retainer from them. I then went to the front desk and said that I would not be seen or proceed with getting a retainer. 1.5 weeks later, they sent me a message saying I owe $46 for a dental exam that my insurance wouldn't cover... The dentist, a hygienist, or actual healthcare professional didn't even come to the room to talk to me about my health, look in my mouth, or examine me! They are unwilling to change the claim filed to my insurance even though no services were provided. As someone who works in the medical field, this is fraud. I never bill insurance or visits to patients who aren't seen or treated. I literally just saw the manager, who told me the price of the retainer. Oh also, they charged my dad $4500 for an emergency procedure. Overall, just don't come here even though the birds in front of the exam rooms are cute. There are definitely other dentists nearer to you who actually care about your health and want to help you. Less

Dr Ghodsi was the best dentist that I have ever gone too. The customer service at his office was amazing and he extracted all of my teeth and gave me a new set of teeth where I am no longer afraid to smile. I highly recommend him to anybody. I was scared to death to have a tooth extracted. Dr. Ghodsi and the team assured me I would do fine. They were ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! I had my tooth extracted and implant placed and I didn't feel a thing. Everyone in the office is very gentle and caring. They were more concerned about my comfort than just getting the procedure done. They are my new dental family.

I just had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Ghodsi under sedation. I don’t remember a thing about the appointment. I was sore for a day that's all. The staff were great and courteous. I highly recommend this office.

Today on 9/21 I receive an email from them saying I am on the hook for $227.20 because my insurance has not paid them. I promptly call... More

They also inform me that the claim is for $180, and it makes no sense for them to be asking me for nearly $50 above the claim. They said they have 90 days to pay, and payments are made at the beginning and end of the month, this one will go out by the end of September so don't pay them. I call back and explain what my insurance company tells me and again I'm told to pay the bill now or face collections at the end of the month. I inform the dental office credit companies will not adversely affect a credit score unless a medical bill is 180 days past due. They do this especially for this reason because insurance stuff is always a mess. I told her I have an 810 credit score and I don't like being harassed over a bill that was barely submitted to insurance a month ago and is not even disputed and going to be paid by my insurance company. I received back a harassing email in return about how it would be a shame to ruin my good credit over not paying a dental bill. They even have the date of my appt incorrect saying I was there on 8/6 when I went on 8/10. This is unethical and unprofessional. Less

Lasting Smiles is the best dental office. Dr. Ghodsi and the rest of the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I have always been nervous when I need to go and get dental work done but they make it very comfortable and relaxing. My recent procedure went way smoother than I thought it would be. I contacted the office to see about fixing this tooth. With my insurance it was $600 out of pocket, i can’t get qualified for financing with a outside party so I asked if there was anyway to make payments with the office and was told 70% down and then i can pay the rest in a 3 month period....well i can’t afford that. I expressed to them that it’s not something i am able to do financially and would need a better payment option. And now nothing from them...so here i am sitting for over a week now in excruciating tooth pain and instead of them trying to work with me to help me figure something out they don’t respond. Less

Dr G did an awesome job, I highly recommend him and his office to anyone in need. The office is inviting, my procedure went much smoother than I could have hoped for and I want to thank them for everything they've done.
