If you have insurance that is not covered through Lasting Smiles do not have them put in an implant for you. They do not guarantee their work. I have an implant that is failing due to faulty bone graph, and I attempted to make an appointment for them to look at it and they said because you do not have insurance with us. But after the steroids are finished (about 5 days ) I started taking Ibuprofen, they are not recommended nor needed while taking the steroids, It is then when you have the most discomfort the Ibuprofen really helped. I did not take nor did I need anything stronger.My decision to do this was not for cosmetics as my teeth looked good already , my teeth are highly sensitive and I was tired of getting expensive dental work over and over again, I believe in the long run this is the most cost effective solution for a lifelong dental strategy.... My biggest love, besides the look is being able to eat and drink hot and cold food and drinks without the pain... I highly recommend if you are on the fence doing this procedure to do it at this location, I had a lot of anxiety about doing full implants before, but now I am extremely happy I did it, again thanks to Dr. Ma and all the wonderful staff At lasting Smiles...... If you enjoy countless visits due to shoddy workmanship, you should definitely visit Lasting Smiles! Long story short (see actual long story below): I went in for help with a sensitive tooth and they messed me up so bad I had to spend $2600 out of pocket at a different dentist to right their wrongs. I went in October because I had a tooth that was very sensitive. Dr. Ma suggested I come back and get a crown over my tooth. She said that if I don’t get a crown, I may have to get a root canal. I come back for my crown appointment and Dr. Ma is unable to numb me. She frantically injected me with 5-7 different vials of novocaine and numbed everything on the right side of my mouth except for my sensitive tooth. She described my tooth as a “hot tooth” meaning its sensitivity causes it to resist novocaine. She kept drilling into my not numb, very sensitive tooth & it was torture. She suggested I come back another day. I left that appointment in tears. Overwhelmed and uncomfortably numb. The numbness didn’t wear off for 6 hours and I went home with bruised gums. This is when I should’ve ran for the hills but I already paid for my crown. I went back a few weeks later, changed doctors and Dr. Ghodsi put my crown put on easy peasy. One month later, I experienced the most excruciating pain coming from the same tooth. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep and over the counter pain meds didn’t help. I woke up the day after Christmas with swelling on the right side of my face. I called Dr. Ghodsi & went in that day. They concluded that my tooth is now infected and I need a root canal. Dr. Ghodsi told me that they didn’t do a root canal initially because they take a “preventive approach” and “don’t do work that isn’t necessary”. But I believe they do that so you have to keep coming back. It’s a business after all! The infection in my tooth was so bad that they only did the first half of my root canal and sent me home w a temporary crown and antibiotics. They wanted me to heal before they did any more work on my tooth. The infection didn’t go away though. I went on three rounds of antibiotics (that’s 30 days straight of antibiotics) until it finally went away. I came back in mid-January to get my permanent crown and to finish the root canal that Dr. Ghodsi started. After the root canal, he told me two terrible things. 1) My teeth shifted from the temporary crown bc it was not a fit. Thus shifting my bite. (Adding that to the list of things I now need to fix because of them) 2) The infection ate away at my bone and I suffered bone loss (remember this detail, it is important later). He put on the crown and sent me on my way. Fast forward, a month later. I feel pain in the SAME tooth. I went to a different dentist and they told me the root canal was done poorly AND, yet again, the crown does not fit my tooth (photo attached). So they had to go back in and re-root canal my tooth. There was a possibility that I suffered so much bone loss that my tooth was cracked at the root. Meaning, it would have to be pulled. Luckily, this wasn’t the case. Unluckily, my insurance covers one root canal every 24 months. Since Dr. Ghodsi did my root canal on January 26th, I had to pay $1500 out of pocket to fix my botched root canal at another dentist. I had to pay ANOTHER $1100 out of pocket to fix my botched crown. All in all, this tooth caused me excruciating pain for over 7 months and I fully blame Lasting Smiles. I put my full trust and faith in Dr. Ma and Dr. Ghodsi. I hoped that they would right their wrongs. Mostly because they assured me that they would! But after SEVEN mishaps, it’s not about me putting faith in them, it’s about addressing how bad their workmanship is. You can defend one or two shitty work jobs but seven!? I will not be going back there and I don’t think they want me back if I’m honest. They won’t be surprised that I’m writing this review. Every critique in here has been said to their face by me or my mother. Save yourself time and thousands of dollars and don’t go here. Less

After reading the other 1 star review of insurance and office seemingly unethical practices, I would say it sounds likely what is happening. My Story: I visited this office after getting a scam diagnosis at ANOTHER dentistry. Right when I enter, I see a waterfall design at front and an elaborate bird "zoo" area. Immediately I kind of knew this was not a good dentistry. How do they pay for all of that? They must be hitting patients will aggregious amounts of over diagnosis/treatment and a lot of unethical insurance/pay practices. And then I got my full mouth exam and CONFIRMED my suspicions. They wanted to crown 90% of my upper tooth totaling $14,000. And the one tooth I wanted fixed, I knew all it needed was a filling. The dentist here recommened TWO fillings for it. I knew it only needed 1. But hey, what would I know I'm no dentist right? The thing is, I am sure that at least 80% of dentists will try to push something extra on their patients so that the dentist can make more money. Some are more aggregious than others. Anyway, obviously, I did not accept this treatment. These guys want money and the patient has to pay for it for the rest of their lives due to the treatment of filling/crown that has to be maintained/repaired over the years. Plus both will make the tooth weaker, therefore you will not be able to use your teeth like you once did, regardless of what material the crown is made of. This is because the weak part of the crowned tooth will be the part where the crown attaches to the tooth. I then looked at google for another dentistry, by luck I found one that gave me a conservative estimate and diagnosed my teeth the best one so far. The tooth that I knew only needed 1 filling? This other dentistry confirmed it. They fixed it with only 1 filling. Also, confirmed by mouth/tooth camera, they highlighted another tooth (that I knew about and have photos in my phone) that had a hole (looks like one drilled by a dentist 3 years ago and never told me about). This hole was now a cavity, and that tooth needed a crown. I knew that tooth would need a crown just by looking at it with my phone camera. I will not mention the name of the decent dentistry here because I don't want people to think I am advertising it. If you want to find it, look for a dentistry here in Vegas with less 1 star reviews about "scams" and "over treatments". It has a lot of reviews. The reason I am writing about my experience is that I would like more people to be aware of this kind of problem within our medical industry. The more people that are aware, the more they will hold the dentist or medical professional accountable. Also, why did I start looking at this more critically? When I chipped my front tooth and then went to get it fixed. The first dentist I visited only looked at the X-Ray and told me that the chipped tooth was hollow because it was decayed. Recommened the tooth be pulled and bridged for $9000. But I knew it wasn't because it was decay... It was CHIPPED off that's why it was hollow. Obviously got it fixed at a different dentistry with a filling and not a tooth extraction totaling $300. Dentistry #2 told me it was not severely decayed, just fractured. I just want to put something into perspective for you. A practice can make close to 1 million a year if they do a lot of treatments. At the end of the day, medical practices are also BUSINESSES. They are not like your priest or your friend. They are doctors/medical people BUT ALSO do business in medicine with the pricing and selling of treatments. DO NOT TRUST ANY DIAGNOSIS, I would say to get a 2nd/3rd opinion if you can. Less

After few days Joanna called me to set up another follow up appointment and to discuss remaining balance of more than 4k due to computer program error on their end(computer formula is calculating incorrectly) I told Joanna I will Not pay this amount because I didn't agree on this. They put me out and did all my dental work in one afternoon. When I went back for my permanent caps, Dr. Ma kept numbing me until it finally worked. They are compassionate, caring and very skilled. The permanent caps fit perfectly without any adjustments (they were made in the office by Marco) and Sylvia and Dr. Ma took such good care of me. I was very disappointed by the treatment and service I received from Dr. Ghodsi and the clinic. It was a horrible experience for me! I had my first visit to the clinic on June 15, 2022. At that time, I had a loose tooth and was planning to have an implant to replace it. My regular clinic could also do the implant and but it would take a long time to schedule. That's why I went to Lasting Smile Dental Care because they said they could do it quicker even though I had to pay for the cost of extraction because they did not accept my health insurance. I had a consultation with Dr. Ghodsi on that day and then decided to have an extraction and bone craft on the same day. We also scheduled the next appointment two months later for the implant. When I came to my appointment two months later for the implant, Dr. Ghodsi said a lot of things which were confusing and concerning to me. He asked me why I did not want to do an implant in another position. I said our plan was to have an implant in that position and that's why I decided to have the exaction done there at my own expense. I asked him whether it was still OK to do the implant as planned. He first said yes, but then kept saying a lot of other things. Finally, he said "I don't want to do it" and then walked away. This is the most horrible medical/dental experience I have ever had all my life. I wasted my money and time there! If you think it was not a good idea to have an implant there, then you should not have got me started on this. I definitely had other options. Before I left the clinic, the staff at the front desk told me that she would mail me a copy of the CT scan images. It is already over a month now, but I still have not received anything! ------ Here is my reply to the owner's response. You already had an evaluation in my first visit to determine that it was OK to have an implant there. That's how I decided to have the extraction with you at my own expense. I could do the extraction in my regular clinic for free, covered by my health insurance. Also, two months of my time had been wasted. Regarding the CT Scan images, you never gave me any form to fill out and return. Less

Ben the hygienist is amazing!!! Whoever does the scheduling calls like a telemarketer 20 times a day until they hear from you. At one appointment they called me on my cell and then call my company and try to get me on the line. Someone needs to calm down it’s not that critical!... More

I am very saddened to have to do this but I am reversing my 5 star down to a one due to the dental office staff attempting to overcharge me and even fighting my insurance in the process. On November 4th 2022 I was charged $110 before the treatment of 5 cavities. I was then told they would submit my claim to my insurance if I needed to pay more. I am very saddened to have to do this but I am reversing my 5 star down to a one due to the dental office staff attempting to overcharge me and even fighting my insurance in the process. On November 4th 2022 I was charged $110 before the treatment of 5 cavities. I was then told they would submit my claim to my insurance if I needed to pay more. Johanna then called me a few weeks later and claimed I owed an additional $182 on top of the $110 I had already paid. I contacted my insurance to review my claim and contact the dental officer further regarding this additional $182. It turns out they never submitted my original payment of $110 to my insurance. They also went against policy by charging me a copayment that was not listed within my plan. Currently my insurance is escalating this to an internal investigation to determine why this was done and who to hold accountable. The owner will be contacted so we can discuss further and I have been advised by my insurance to look into another dental office moving forward. Less

Everyone was incredibly nice, professional, and accommodating, (I was in town on a family emergency); but more importantly the quality of the work done was great. NO pain whatsoever. Not even when the novocain wore off! (Which is important for me as I’m allergic to most pain medication.) I’m no longer terrified of g... More

On 06/18/22 I received my new dentures, it was a long wait but most definitely worth every minute of it. There are many steps to this end result and one big one is working with Marco the dental tech to get the fit just right, he was wonderful and excellent at his job! I want the also include the staff at LS they were the best, always kind and happy to help in any way. I can't say enough good about Dr. Ghodsi, Dr Ma, Marco and the staff.
