Following these terrible storms January 2023 our large pine tree started uprooting and leaning towards our house. Gil and team came same day I called and removed the tree next day. I called Paradise Tree Service to describe my dilemma of having a VERY large California Oak (+40 feet) in small front yard of the home we purchased. Within a few hours Gil visited for visual inspection and assessment. As an licensed/certified arborist, Gil proceeded to describe the best solution & best practices to keep the tree healthy, aesthetic and safe to the surrounding structures, driveway, sidewalk etc. An appointment to do the work was for a week out from the date of inspection. A day after inspection Gil called to advise the team could come by to do the work later that morning. A team of 3 very experienced workers arrived with a boom truck and truck & shredder. They worked methodically for several hours pruning & thinning all aspects of the tree; definitely a blend of hard work, science and art. Final result was perfect. The worksite was completely cleared of debris. The guys even cut-up a branch for me to season for a future BBQ (only one branch of medium size was removed). Seems nearly every day we have neighbors commenting how nice the tree looks. Congrats to the Paradise team. BTW, the work wasn't cheap but seemed reasonable. Used them to remove 4 trees on our property including several on upper portion behind retaining walls. Other companies refused to grind the stumps but Paradise said they could grind them down. Raymond showed up with a crew of 4 when he said he would and got right to work. They started at 8:30 and by 9:30 the trees were down and chipped. By noon they had all stumps ground down, everything cleaned up, and even took out a few brushes when we asked. Very happy with their efforts and with the end result. Would absolutely use them again. We had them remove 2 trunks between the sidewalk and the curb. the area was filled with a spider web of large roots. After the job was finished, we found additional roots in the area. I have a backyard full of queen palms to tall for me to trim. I've had other trimmers cut them in the past, but wasn't really impressed. Paradise came out and trimmed the same palms and they ended up looking like a million bucks. They did an outstanding job trimming them. Rick has good intentions, but leaving 6 guys for a couple of days without supervision was costly. First job, they pruned more aggressively than quoted, so I owed more money. Second chance, they failed to remove dead wood, ignored limbs (prune so I can pass underneath with riding mower), I have had dead wood blowing down all winter, landing on my vinyl fence in back. One limb is currently brushing the ground. New company working now, much better result. When I called to report a major missed limb, Rick sent someone by the next day to cut it, but he had no desire to haul it off. New guys will be removing it today. Not a happy experience, and I gave them two shots....if you have a small job, they might work out for you, but they were pricier. Sometimes paying more doesn't get more... Less
