My daughter has grown in confidence significantly since beginning Tae Kwon Do at Max Martial Arts. Even now, as I watch her in class, just two days after belt testing (going from yellow which is level 1 to orange level 2), I see her executing each move with more confidence, skill, and focus. She is the only orange belt in class today, and Instructor Paul is giving her so many leadership opportunities. I see her beaming with pride instead of cowering with shyness. The instructors are firm and kind with high expectations. And truly, I’m entertained by every class. They are engaging and hilarious, and I’m so proud my daughter is a part of this. Additionally, this space is more than a place of learning. It offers a sense of community. Belt testing in the summer is combined with a potluck picnic followed by an epic water fight between students and instructors. I’d like to take a second and leave my Honest review about this gym. As a parent of 6 years old boy who’s never been practicing martial arts, I can say that THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! I did try a couple of other locations before signing him up and I’ve noticed huge difference between this gym vs others. They really show a lot of respect for both children and parents. They always pay attention to upbringing and proper moral values ​​for children. My son has ADHD and I can say with confidence ever since he started attending Max Martial Arts, he has become much more disciplined and respectful! The gym is always crowded - it’s just the fact parents do see how good they are so they’re not looking for any better They do offer adults classes as well and as soon as I set up my schedule, I’ll sign myself up too This gym is always super clean. I’ve never seen any mess in there The trainers are high professionals and they give lots of support and attention to each student. There’s minimum 2-3 trainers per class which is especially helpful for smaller group. They do offer makeup classes in case if you missed your class and this is another huge plus! My daughter started here about a month and a half ago. She loves it I am glad they are flexible as well with days you go. Your monthly cost includes twice per week and with my work days varying we can go whenever we are available with no problems. The teachers are very fun and kid friendly. I drove by this place for maybe 6 months and always thought to stop in and check it out. Glad we did. parking can be tight but go early or park around the corner a tad. not too bad. Update for my review.....i cannot believe it has been a year there already! We have done summer camp, birthday party, and all the different belt tests at various locations. My son's motor skills are far behind from what kids his age or even younger are for that matter. He has difficulty running and climbing and is not very flexible. He has low self-confidence as well. Having said that, I am over the top grateful on the way Master Jeong and Master Kim have handled his specific level of fitness and needs. My heart overjoys when I see the dedication and kindness and compassion they have shown. We've only been coming to Maxma for a few weeks but that's been enough for me to say this is an awesome program. I think I enjoy the class as much as my son. We decide to try Taekwondo for both my kids, ages 3 and 6. The little tigers class that Master Jeong offers is wonderful. The kids love it. We weren’t looking for a taekwondo studio, we sort of fell into it as an offer we received through a Boy Scout event. Master Jeong is an amazing teacher who teaches the students as a teacher with years of teaching experience. My husband & , both in education ourselves, are continually impressed by Master Jeong’s professionalism, knowledge, and enthusiasm at every class. I can’t even say enough about how AMAZING he is with the kids!! He has just the right teaching style to keep them motivated and focused on the martial arts skills that they are learning and practicing. Every lesson focus on the entire child. Master Jeong expects discipline, focus, and effort from the kids because he truly wants them to understand & learn the skills. Each lesson is a variety of activity that never stops. I have watched my 10-year-old son make great progress, and really enjoy the classes and have fun. He constantly thanks me for signing him up. Wow! We can’t say enough and how impressed we are with Master Jeong and Master Nahm as martial arts instructors and the everyday life building lessons they teach. My wife and I were talking about signing up out son Sam for martial arts lessons. Coincidently we were at one of the neighborhood festivals and both Masters were there demonstrating their school, UTC. Right away we saw caring and confidence for both Masters. The end result came from Sam when he said that he would like to try martial arts with Master Jeong and Master Nahm. Sam has been going for 11 months now and its one of the activities he really enjoys doing. Not only do the masters teach the kids the proper Taekwondo techniques and self-defense, they teach confidence, discipline, respect, and proper manners. They promote being yourself, believing in yourself and self-confidence. Every week is a different life lesson that they learn. They earn black stripes for demonstrating good attitude and weekly homework assignments for good hygiene, manners, reading, etc… The Masters are both multi-degree black belts who are constantly improving their skills in martial arts techniques and child development to improve the classroom experience. They offer many fun extra curricular activities such as kid’s camps during winter, summer and holiday breaks. They will go on field trips to museums and play houses. They also offer birthday parties. They offer three levels of Taekwondo classes, Little Tigers (ages 3 ½-6 yrs), Tigers (6-13 yrs), Teen/Adults (12 yrs and up). They teach sparring classes and also offer a cardio kick boxing class for ages 13 yrs and up.
