I’ve been practicing BJJ at Gracie Barra RSM for the past six months, and it seems fitting to drop a review after getting to know the place thoroughly. As a 42-year-old man with a few injuries (lower back herniated disk and tendinitis on both knees ) + out of shape, I had reservations and concerns to start.
From the very first day I was welcomed to the mat by the professors and practitioners with a smile and great vibes overall. They were made aware of my physical limitations and concerns and made an effort to ensure I would do the best I could without exposing myself to injury. Now, six months later, I’ve lost almost 20 pounds, and achieved enough confidence to practice at full strength and speed.
Our main professors are Kayron, Rafael, Gabriel and Gustavo, and they are not only accomplished professionals, but also great people to chat with and learn from. The students have a great sense of respect and unity, as we are constantly reminded that we need each other to practice and grow in this martial art.
I am really happy with the decision to join Gracie Barra RSM, and highly recommend this school for anyone curious about the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
