Buyer beware…..I should have taken some time to decide if I was ready to commit to the non-refundable $750.00 pre-payment. Once I thought about it and called three days later (after the weekend) to cancel my appointment, scheduled two weeks out, I was informed that they have a no-refund policy. Sure enough, I (foolishly) signed that document. I moved from a state that has a consumer protection law which allows for rescinding a contract within three business days. That is not the law in Idaho. It’s an uncommon practice and policy to make an appointment and pre-pay for that appointment. But that is how this clinic operates, at least with the first set of two appointments. (We are not talking about a 24-48-hours cancellation policy, to be clear.). During my 20-minutes meeting with Dr. Zimmerman, he informed me that he charges $350.00/hour. Based on what appears and feels to be a strong emphasis on financial gain, I was uncomfortable proceeding. I forfeited the $750.00 payment and will instead be working with a naturopath who charges at the conclusion of each appointment — as is customary with EVERY medical and chiropractic professional from whom I have received care. I am so very grateful that I saw the ad on Facebook for “thyroid” issues. My aunt & I had discussed my symptoms & she felt that I was having a lot of the same symptoms she had before being diagnosed with a thyroid disorder. I have been in several extremely bad car accidents throughout my life and have also suffered from Major Depressive Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, PTSD, & Anxiety, due to severe trauma as a child. I have been in “therapy” since I was 13 years old. I had developed peripheral neuropathy, my blood glucose was climbing, my cholesterol was climbing, & my metabolism was a nightmare!! This has been the absolute best life changing, healthy process I have ever encountered! Immediately my blood work showed that I was no longer in danger of type 2 diabetes, my Peripheral Neuropathy disappeared so that I was able to be taken off of Gabapentin, which is a nasty drug to be on. Dr. Zimmerman has a whole body/whole life approach to health. He is well trained in neurology and is constantly working to improve his ability to help his patients. The staff at Idaho Brain and Body Institute are all very pleasant to interact with. I am so glad I was referred to them. At fist visit I had trouble putting complete understandable sentences together due to the concussion. After their excellent treatments I am back to pre car crash status. No one knows how it truly feels to have a brain injury unless you’ve been through it firsthand. My journey was the most difficult journey I’ve been through. When I came into Dr Zimmermans office (after hearing countless phenomenal reviews about him from friends and family as well as other doctors in the valley), I was a hot mess. My brain injury had completely taken over my life to the point where I couldn’t drive, couldn’t hold a job, couldn’t even do basic tasks (such as grocery shopping or even finishing a movie I had started watching) because of how much pain I was in. I came into Dr Zimmermans office (my husband and I gave him the funny nickname of “D-Zimmy”, because he really is that awesome), and D-Zimmy tested me and said I had a severe concussion. While sitting in his office he asked me one question. “How badly do you want your life back?” I began treatment with him extensively for two weeks, and by the end of those two weeks I was able to drive and work part time. He helped me go on a diet, restore my balance, fix my light sensitivity, rebuild my memory, alleviate my nausea, and get rid of my mood swings. My experience with Dr Zimmerman has been amazing!!
