Absolutely perfect place to stay when you have a special family member that cannot be accommodated easily elsewhere. Immaculately clean, incredibly thoughtful details. Info on disabled access and parking locally presented in a folder. The “little things” were provided to make our stay easier. wheelchair level dresser, all smart TV’s, shower chair and the back saving ceiling hoist in the bedroom! All the amenities and more. For us and our needs, the quiet and enclosed garden with picnic benches was ideal for Al fresco dining. The hosts were friendly and welcomed us like family without being intrusive and had a wonderful background in special needs to help should we need anything. A special place that we all enjoyed and highly recommend.

We had a fabulous week stay at Summerfield Farm. We were a group of eight people of all ages so we hired the two cottages next door to each other. The facilities were perfect for our family member with her wheelchair, with a great wet room and electric bed to really contributed to a stress free break. We also bought our three dogs too, who enjoyed the secluded garden area, lovely walks on the doorstep. Summerfield is a real home from home. So peaceful and relaxing and a great location to explore Whitby and the surrounding areas. Kara and Ben really work hard to provide a fantastic environment for all, we had a superb stay.

We stayed in Albany Cottage for a family weekend to celebrate my wife's special birthday. Our family consisted of three generations and I had accessibility needs. The cottage was exactly as described and was totally accessible for me, which is not always the case for other 'accessible' locations. Ben & Kara are both friendly and helpful and try to offer anything that is needed to accommodate a disabled persons needs. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable weekend although it rained throughout!Thank you Ben & Kara and we hope to return next year.

It’s been great to go somewhere assured that it’s properly accessible for disabled people. We stayed in Abbey View an accessible mobile home on site. It was well maintained, warm, with a good wetroom bathroom and other essential features. About a 20 minute drive from Whitby town centre this location is beautifully rural with views of the abbey but only minutes away from amenities and attractions. Hosts were friendly and attentive and we shall definitely be back.

First time without Richard looking after us, he would be so proud of the work Ben and Kara have done in not only keeping the place on perfect condition but making us feel so welcome. Felt like we have known them for years, cannot recommend the place enough ! Just don't go booking up too much as we want to be able to come back !! We have just returned home from a lovely stay at the Albany cottage on Summerfield Farm. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a few days away. The disabled features were perfect for the requirements of a disabled member of our family group, making things much easier and more comfortable throughout our stay. Ben and Kara were very friendly and helpful both on the run up to our stay, giving lots of useful advice and tips via email, and during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and their knowledge of local amenities proved invaluable in our quest for decent fish and chips!! The accommodations was very clean, with good onsite parking and only a 5 minute drive from Whitby town centre. We will definitely be recommending Summerfield Farm holidays to our friends and family. Thanks again!

Thank you Ben and Kara! We had a great week in Scoresby Cottage. It was the best adapted cottage we’ve stayed in and we’ve tried a lot over the years. It was so easy with level access from the car park, a comfy riser recliner chair, electric bed and wet room. It made such a difference to be able to sit comfortably after returning from a day out. We found Whitby had lots of accessible walks including a cliff top walk from the Abbey - so unusual to be able walk along cliffs! The Abbey itself had good access too. We also enjoyed a lovely accessible walk through woodlands along a stream from Esk Valley to Beck Hole. Kara and Ben were lovely and so helpful. We would definitely recommend these cottages if you have mobility issues.

Ben nd Kara are the most welcoming people you could hope to meet. They have worked so hard over the last 3 years since our last visit. We stayed in the Scoresby, as we did on our last visit, and the whole cottage was so much improved. They have listened and acted on everyone's suggestions for improvement. We have come home feeling so relaxed after a much needed break. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for our service users holiday. We stayed in Cholmley cottage, which was beautiful! The downstairs bedroom was ideal for our service user that was in a wheelchair and required overhead tracking hoist. She was able to take herself from the bedroom to the lounge with no difficulty. The upstairs was great as there was a shower room for each bedroom. Me & my colleague had the twin room…those beds are the comfiest we’ve ever slept on! We stayed when the weather was extremely hot, yet the bedroom was nice & cool at night without needing to open the window. Kara and Ben are fantastic hosts, who go above and beyond to help you.

The most perfect holiday! Since my father became a wheelchair user in 2019 we have dreamed of being able to take him on holiday, and Summerfield Farm was everything we could have hoped for, and more. Right from the initial enquiry email, Kara was so helpful in providing us with information, making sure all our needs were met and that all of the equipment my father requires was in place. My father uses a hoist and we were delighted by the lovely downstairs bedroom for him, with a ceiling hoist and a fully accessible wet room. We stayed in Albany, which was absolutely beautiful. The location of the farm is perfect, just down the road from the Abbey, with stunning views of the sea and only a couple of miles into the centre of Whitby. My father loved watching the sunset over Whitby from the living room window in Albany. Kara, Ben and Richard were such welcoming and warm hosts, and couldn't have done more for us. I really can't recommend Summerfield Farm enough, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would. We can't wait to book to go back again! We live about 250 miles away from Whitby, but it is well worth the journey. It was a total dream come true and a holiday we will all remember forever.
