First of all, I was not at all aware of how bad the roof was on my investment property until I saw the pictures of the decking after it was exposed. My initial intention was to have the roof tiles "painted" at a much lower cost than doing a re-roof. It was after extensive research that pushed me into the more prudent investment. Finding a roofing contractor that seemed honest and professional from the first contact in and of itself was time consuming. Then comparing estimates in detail required a more in depth understanding of the differences between a basic tar paper and tile re-roof to a more complex weather tight multi layer underlayment system. Mike was the estimator from JJ to come out and look at the building. He explained what and why the materials where, and the differences from one roofing contractor to another. At first I thought it was a big sales pitch. Yea not, Mike was giving me facts and it was up to me look at what was being offered from other companies. In the end, I chose to not go with the "cheapest" estimate and realized the highest estimate received from another roofer offered less than JJ. With out a doubt, having JJ Quality Builders of the Palm Beaches was the best of all choices. Now going back to the rotted out decking that was not known until Mike started to point out things he saw as we walked around the building. Gapping holes where plywood was! There were no real tell tale signs unless you knew what you're looking for that Mike pointed out and can be covered up with wood filler and paint. If I could download the pictures the work crew took of the missing decking you would be impressed and think there is no way I didn't see it a long time ago. And if it weren't for a strong flashlight shedding light on a distant dark corner of the garage storage space where a two by four touched the wall and looked damp, I would have waited another year to consider it was time to do something with the thirty year old roof. Mike knew there would be a need for more than just a couple of sheets of plywood that most roofers include in their estimates and some other types of material that other roofers didn't include at all. In the end, I had an additional seventy nine dollar charge for extra material not included in Mike's estimate. That's like hitting the ten ring just next to the bullseye on a windy day as far as I'm concerned. From start to finish, the re-roof staff were exceptional and informative. With out a doubt, if I have another investment property that needs a roof repair or replacement, JJ Quality Roofers of the Palm Beaches will be the go to company. I live in downtown Lake Worth and have a house built in 1926. It has a flat roof and we had issues with leaking being it was in poor shape. The owner and his girlfriend browbeat employees into doing their dirty work. Loyalty is rewarded by being a victim of their obvious paranoia.  I have never seen anything like it. The level of paranoia is insane. I only now realize why they are so pushy about employees signing non-disclosure agreements. There are cameras and microphones throughout the office. While it may be legal, it is the level to which they are utilized that is interesting. You may think you are speaking to another employee until you get a call from the owners girlfriend confronting you about whatever was said that offended her. The staff lives on eggshells.  This is a toxic environment and I would think twice before patronizing people like this. They trust no-one and conspiracy theories abound at this company. I would find a company that treats all people well.  Customers as well as employees. I feel much better being away from the charade.  The level of profanity, gossip and berating is unreal. I know by posting these truths I will be either berated, threatened with legal action or whatever... which i have been. If they start treating people better it will be worth it. Very good experience from start to finish. William was very knowledgeable and professional. They gave me a very good price with a quality installation. During the installation my gutter was some how damaged, I didn't even notice it was damaged. I received a phone call from the office letting me know when thier crew was coming out to replace it. From start to finish, everything was done to my satisfaction. The process was very quick and efficient, along with the communication. On the day when work was supposed to start, they showed up 30 minutes early with a very large crew and replaced entire flat roof in 12 hours of work! I did not for once have a need to get out and ask for a foreman to demand that they change or do something. After sealing the roof it looked brand new and made it possible for us to sell the house at a good price. Their price was very reasonable and saved us from having to completely replace the roof.
