I can’t recommend the SLC team highly enough. We had an 18kWh Sigen Battery system with a gateway installed, along with three solar arrays. Even in February, we have already seen a return, with about 30% of our household power being produced by the PV panels and the battery storing the excess energy for later use.I contacted several solar companies for quotes. Two ignored me completely, one provided a quotation without even discussing our requirements, and another had only a brief phone conversation before doing a Google Maps check of my house to prepare a quote.Shaun from SLC, however, came to our home and spent several hours discussing our needs and expectations. He then provided a comprehensive plan and detailed quote, taking the time to explain everything thoroughly to ensure we were happy with the proposal. At no point was there any hard sell; they were always happy to chat and discuss the plan.On install day, the SLC team were, dare I say it, perfect! The installers were friendly, hardworking, and efficient. We did have a hiccup with the grid power line, but they stayed until SSE arrived to get us reconnected. The team could have easily left but chose to stay to brief SSE on what went wrong and how the solar system works.

We had a Hypervolt system installed recently by Shaun's team. Installation went well in what was a slightly complex situation for them and any issues were managed effectively. The working of the system was explained to me (as a novice charger!). Importantly, they tidied up and cleaned the workspace before leaving so full marks there. All relevant certification has been received and things seem to be working well a few weeks on.

I was going to leave writing my review until my system had been in for a year but I am so impressed with it that I am doing it now. I had planned on getting three quotes from local installers. I had done some homework on what I wanted, Youtube videos mainly, so knew what I wanted. One company rang me once, I missed the call and they never phoned again. I contacted Shaun at SLC Solutions who immediately arranged a survey and quoted me a system price. I was so impressed with his knowledge, attitude and professionalism that I signed the contract there and then. Installation was arranged for April 29th/30th 2025. Shaun arranged the scaffolding and the scaffolders turned up when arranged and worked with the SLC team. The SLC team, Shaun, Jarrett, George and Harley were brilliant. I already had 8 solar panels that were put on my South West facing roof in 2022. SLC put in another 8 panels on my North East facing roof, 4 on my main South East facing roof and 8 panels on my ground floor flat roof also facing South East. This gives me a total of 12.04kw solar output They also installed a Foxess KH7 hybrid inverter plus six stackable Foxess EQ4800 batteries giving me nearly 28kwh storage.SLC also worked with my car charger installer to make sure that my batteries weren’t feeding the car. This was because I am on the Octopus Intelligent Go Tariff which means it’s more cost effective to charge my car at night at 7p per kwh and discharge my batteries to the grid getting paid 15p per Kwh. The whole installation was done in less than two days. There was one slight problem which was down to an OTA Fox inverter firmware failure. This was soon sorted out and the system has been flawless ever since.Like I said previously, I was going to wait until May 1st to do a review after living with the system for a year but I was going through my energy expenditure for 2025 and it's amazing. My house is a large 4-bedroom detached built in 1890 and except for the gas boiler is completely electric. My previous energy bills were approximately £3800 annually of which £2600 was electric. In the space of 8 months from May 1st to December 31st 2025 my total energy bill has fallen to …. £923.77. I know last year was great for solar and my Octopus tariff allows me to charge my batteries up at cheap rate but even so not only has my solar production and Octopus export covered my electric, it has also covered part of my gas bill, down from about £1200 to just over £920 and includes charging my EV for the last six months. I am predicting my ROI, return on investment, will be about 5 years or maybe less.My next project will be to get a heat pump to be gas free so will definitely be contacting SLC again as I will need more battery storage.
