We have just completed the Adolescent Rascals with Rusty, our 8 month old collie. Rusty has really enjoyed the classes, and enjoys practising his new skills at home. We are learning loads too, and can really see the progress in Rusty's ability to listen and engage with us. We can't wait for our next classes to begin.

Took my pup for training here she loved it, maybe not the best student in classes but she's done really well training at home with the guidance from Neil, think on her last day when all the puppies where allowed to mix, she went to play & all the other pups made their way to me think they felt sorry for me so funny 🤣🤣 highly recommend

I attended the Reactivate Rascals 6 week course, Neil was fantastic really knowledgeable with some amazing tips on how to manage my naughty but nice Reactivate Border collie. Good class to gain some understanding of your puppy’s behaviour and to see progression. Location could be challenging for the less able as it is at the top of a steep hill with a poor road access.

The course was great fun and there was a combination of new skills, tricks and toys but all with a purpose such as having your puppy drop the toy and being rewarded, a must for any dog to give up something they maybe shouldn't have. We went over some of the things we had previously learnt in the puppy class and expanded on them. Neil also engages with everyone on a one to one level and addresses any issues you may have with your puppy. I highly recommend Neil. I have recently completed the puppy course with Paws High Peak and cannot thank Neil enough. The premises are excellent and provide personal space for each puppy, the classes are small enabling everyone to ask questions, get extra help and personal attention from Neil. Each task is explained clearly and refreshed throughout the course. After each class Neil sends an e-mail with leaflets on what we have learnt during the class along with tips on how to increase or decrease the level of training for your own puppy in that particular exercise and informs us what we will be learning the following week. In between classes Neil is happy to help with any problems you are having during your practise at home. At the start of the course each person is given a gift bag and at the end of the course a certificate, rosette and another gift bag. I first went to training classes when my puppy was 10 months old. Pip is deaf so Neil had to adapt his training techniques to help us and it really worked well. We returned for the adolescent rascals course, where we learnt even more ways to communicate with each other, having fun as well as behaving appropriately. Neil’s puppy class has been a great help in teaching my springer spaniel to obey the basic commands.

Beetroot and I really enjoyed the scent work training at PAWS. Neil allows each dog to go at their own pace and is very knowledgeable about how a dog works when being scent trained. Lots of different options of apparatus to practice on and a great scent kit provided to help you practice in between sessions. We are both looking forward to starting the next stage of the course.

Our experience: Our 3-month old border terrier has completed Neil’s one-to-one puppy foundation course and we couldn’t be happier that we chose Paws High Peak. What to expect: Neil is so friendly and helpful, making every session feel relaxed and fun for us and enjoyable for our dog, who gets very excited when he arrives. She’s tired at the end of her session because she’s learned so much but the exercises themselves are never made to feel like work for her, thanks to lots of tiny low-calorie treats to re-enforce successes as well as rest when needed. We usually covered four new exercises per session and took 1-2 weeks to practice on our own in between. This pace was ideal for us but you always have the option to flex the sessions according to your availability and your dog’s needs. Course includes: Highly recommend if you want help with: loose lead walking (so easy to do wrong on your own), sit, stay, down, door manners, not jumping up, emergency stop, recall and general advice on how to ensure your dog is comfortable when exposed to lots of different sounds, people and environments (including vet visits). Tailored to you: The one-to-one course has been tailored to us throughout and it’s been particularly valuable to have help tweaking and refining those little things that you might be doing wrong that actually make all the difference to your dog’s ability to pick up on what you need them to do. When we arrived today at our prebooked slot we couldn't park in the normal spot. Fair enough they said they were were having some truck deliveries and said about parking on the road. We explained we have a dog reactive dog and so they moved a tractor so we could park as normal. We're local and have been a few times so know they have dogs off lead round the dog field. Ok so far apart from the small dog that was running free and we had to ask them to pick it up as we were worried we'd run it over! A couple of deliveries went up the road. As it's a hot day and our rescue dog is old we decided to leave early after the truck was leaving so we wouldn't be in the way of other deliveries. The truck was pulled up at the portacabin, blocking the drive, fair enough we thought he's having a chat. We waited patiently and he came back to his cab. Two minutes later he was back out of his cab talking to the woman again. We pipped our horn as we thought maybe they'd not noticed us waiting further up the drive. The woman just waved her arm at us and looked like she said something very impolite and then went back into the portacabin with the driver. We had to wait another 20 minutes before we could leave, despite them knowing we were waiting and they were blocking us in. Obviously we won't be returning. As anyone with a large reactive rescue dog knows, it's great to have secure areas for off lead fun and we've been to lots. However if your dog is as reactive as ours after suffering years of abuse before he came to us (we've been working with a behaviourist for over a year and he's much better than he was!) this might not be the field for you. You have to walk your dog up to the field from the parking spot. It's only a short distance but as they have off lead dogs running around, this is a problem for us. The last time we were here a large dog ran up to the field gate which caused our dog to react. All good experience we thought, but after today it's too stressful knowing there might be dogs running free as we walk back to the car, and the bad experience with the woman who we assume is the owner. I understand its a working farm and you were having deliveries and it can be stressful. But why not just book out the slots so you don't have to upset people visiting the field. My dog joined 2 training classes, one for puppies and another for adolescent dogs. Neil is a great trainer. His classes were full of fun with lots of tip to train my dog daily basis. He keeps the exercises varied and gives you 1 to 1 time within the classes to help polish training on an exercise, if required. Just had our first session on the paddock. Good sized area and very secure. Still very early days for the facility (actually, literally the first day!) but it does its job and it is great to have a secure field very locally. I will definitely be booking again. A word of caution - the access isn't exactly family car-friendly so I will be parking in the lay-by until it gets resurfaced.

Can't recommend Paws day care and boarding as well as dog training enough! It's a real home from home for your dogs while you're away and every care is taken of your dog. The training classes and one to one sessions are also brilliant.

Have used Neil’s 1:1 training and attended sniffer class and puppy class with two different dogs. Already seeing massive differences - a much more calm and obedient older whippet, able to ignore birds and dogs running after balls, increasingly strong recall and almost no reactivity on lead. Younger puppy is very nervous but the set up in puppy class has helped massively already and she no longer cries and tries to go home on solo walks! Have also taken both dogs to Kim for nail trimming, who was great with them and knew exactly what she was doing. Fantastic couple who obviously love dogs and are great at what they do. Tahnee my Springer Spaniel has just completed Stage 1 of Scent Detective Constable and she absolutely loved it so much that we've booked onto Stage 2. Highly recommend! I would highly recommend Neils puppy training and scent detection classes, he has an amazing knowledge in dog training and is able to bring out your dogs full potential. Our dog really enjoys doing the classes as it’s a mental challenge for them but it’s also an amazing bonding experience with you and your dog.

I could not believe that after just one session Harvey was listening to me more and responding to his commands. I was already working with whistle training but Neil advised me to get a different one a whistle is a whistle right wrong the one Neil advised to get Harvey was instantly more alert to and responded much better. As each week passed Harvey has become more responsive and calmer. We have now completed Harvey’s training and I can honestly say Neil has not only helped with Harvey’s recall he has also given me the confidence that I can distract Harvey and recall him back without the need of panicking. Neil is a very calming and reassuring person he always gave feedback from each lesson and was always available to answer any questions and give feedback from any update videos that I sent him. They always reply to your messages in a timely manner and send regular updates and pictures of them during the day. Daisy and Matilda have just stayed over at Paws for the first time. Kim and Neil are amazing people. I know just how much love, care and attention they pay to all the animals who are lucky enough to stay here. These guys are absolutely wicked!! Ivy has spent this weekend at Paws, and we were updated with photos and videos (sounds silly but it makes a difference!!) and she has absolutely had a ball with Kim and Neil, and the other dogs. Darcy has been part of the ‘paws family’ for some time now. She started out with going for a groom with Kim, she came back smelling lovely and we got lots of lovely photos. Whenever Neil comes to the door Darcy gets so excited and off she trots with uncle Neil! Neil has been training Darcy for a while now and we cannot believe the improvement! She’s doing amazing, Neil listens to everything and offers amazing advice and solutions. We’ve had health concerns with Darcy and Neil has helped advise with these also and centred Darcy’s training around her. Each time he leaves our house, Darcy sits at the door.... waiting for him to come back 🙈🙈. Neil keeps in contact between sessions regularly and offers ongoing advice. It’s definitely worth it! She is going for her first ‘sleepover’ soon and I feel so relaxed knowing she will be with two experienced people who have such amazing love for animals. I was terrified about leaving my little dog bitzy for the first time with “someone else” as she hasn’t left my side for a full year!! However when I met Kim and saw how she operates her wonderful home I was delighted,Kim sent me updates and videos and my little bitzy had the time of her life!! Would strongly recommend that if you are nervous about leaving your furry loved one with anyone please try Kim!! She is kind,loving and your dog will have a wonderful “at home” stay and you will in return get a very tired but happy pet when they return!! Really can’t recommend her services enough xx🐶🐶🐶🐶 Less

To say Kim at paws is amazing is an understatement!! First grooming visit to Kim for Jackie our miniature poodle although she has had a sleepover there recently. An excellent job was done and Kim kept us informed of what she was doing. Kim then dropped Jackie home and she looked, felt and smelled absolutely gorgeous. Definitely will be going back for more. �

Stanley has been groomed by a couple of different groomers and we can honestly say that this is the best groom he has had to date. We have now found our permanent groomer. :)

Well what can I say I can't thank Kim and Neil enough for home boarding my puppy Freddy for a week while we went on holiday she gave me daily updates of how he's doing and just made me feel at ease and relaxed, she really looked after Freddy and I don't think he wanted to come home, he was having so much fun, she made him part of the family and let him join in with family events. I would highly recommend her to anyone and also when Freddy had his first grooming session she was very lovely with him even though he wasn't to sure of the hairdryer at first but she was very patient with him and he came home smelling gorgeous!
