I met Laura as one of the mentors within the Dog Training College (DTC) her knowledge empathy and compassion are immense not only that, but I was amazing at her “do as I do” training techniques with her own super star Milo. I signed up for Laura’s mentorship programme privately as I identified where my skill set lacked and where Laura’s shone, her support so far has been brilliant and I’m completely at ease taking every case in my stride, knowing I have my team behind me. Updated below: With our new pup, Alfie, we were determined to get his training right from the outset. A little research and we came across Laura. From the initial video call we knew we were in the very best hands. Alfie and his two dads absolutely look forward to our training sessions. Whilst obviously informative (Laura explains things in such a brilliant way that makes total sense) and detailed, these sessions are incredibly fun and have boosted our confidence in being good ‘parents’ so much. We genuinely all look forward to our Thursday mornings and don’t want them to end, ever 😁 UPDATE: We have now (sadly) finished our 12 training sessions with the amazing Laura. We now have the dog we’ve always dreamt of and the most amazing confidence in handling him! He walks beautifully to heel, responds readily to sit, down, wait, here and stop. We’ve confidently been off lead on our own, with Alfie responding to ‘here’ between us (so proud). We’ve just been to Ham Hill with relatives and their dog and Alfie off lead with Petal AND all the other dogs. Impeccably behaved, responsive, and walking to heel !! Laura has been fantastic in sharing her knowledge and teaching me a wealth of strategies and games to support engagement with my 2 yr old German Shepherd for the past year. This has helped with lead reactivity and we now have great recall. I found the videos at the end of every session very useful and the other clips that Laura shared. Laura is nothing short of a miracle worker! We struggled as our cute tiny puppy found her feet and terrorised us and our space. One to one training was the only remaining option! after one session we understood the dog we had bought home better and in turn her us! With Lauras guidance we completed the initial puppy training and then progressed into the adolescent course. Every week Molly got better and so did we! We are now the best team and she has grown into the dog we dreamt about! She truly is “our girl”. None of this would have happened had we not sought Lauras help. As a first time dog owner Laura helped guide me and my family through the struggles of puppyhood and when Elsie developed some fear reactivity Laura provided valuable knowledge and insight that helped us understand her behaviour and tools that have reduced the reactivity to almost nothing. Walks are no longer stressful, and I now receive compliments constantly on how well trained my dog is!
