Living with a dog displaying aggressive behavior was incredibly difficult and stressful. It affected every aspect of our lives, making simple outings and interactions a challenge. Then, I found Clayton, and everything changed. His expertise and patience were evident from the first session. He took the time to understand my dog's unique challenges and developed a tailored plan that worked wonders. Now, my dog is calmer, more obedient, and the aggressive behavior is a thing of the past. Clayton truly has a gift for working with dogs, and I am so grateful for his help. If you're struggling with your dog's behavior, don't hesitate to reach out to Clayton – he's the best! Less

I have had dogs all my life but never had one with more needs than Luca. I tried what I thought was everything but I didn’t have a clue! My initial conversation with Clayton gave me insight into my relationship with my dog. Wensley took us on and my world changed. Wensley has a presence that is quiet, and kind, but immediately Luca knew who was in charge, at which point he started to relax and appeared almost relieved. Two weeks in and people commented that he was a different dog. Truth be know, it’s about training the owner and the dog just follows along! I had no idea how much I didn’t know about dogs. Wensley gave me the tools and confidence to develop a rewarding relationship with Luca. Once that relationship was established and consistently reinforced, everything fell into place. This training was worth more than I can say, worth every bit of time and money and I would do it all again. Can’t recommend them enough!!! Less

I have nothing but positive things to say about Wensley & Clayton / Austin Dog Culture. I came to Austin Dog Culture seeking assistance with my VERY fearful German Shepherd, Annabelle. From the first consultation, Clayton was transparent about expectations for Annabelle, as her problems were behavioral/fear-related and not basic obedience. She ended up doing a board and train due to her situation. I am a worrier, and it was difficult leaving Annabelle. But after meeting Clayton and Wensley in person, I knew she was safe and in good hands. Annabelle has been home for a week, and I can confidently say that her life and future have improved. Her fear had previously been to the point that she couldn’t even go outside if neighbors were out. We couldn’t walk her, except at 5 AM when no strange people or noises were outside. And trips in our camper were challenging, to say the least. While Annabelle will likely always have an anxious personality because that’s just who she is. She has now been taught positive behaviors to do instead of panicking and attempting to escape. She can walk in a heel past something scary instead of dragging me down the street. She can hold a place or down while things happen around her without hiding under something or running away. She’s made so much progress after working with Wensley that I can now continue to practice with her, reinforce these behaviors, and continue to build her confidence. Wensley also gave us lots of needed advice and insight on continuing her structure at home, including incorporating our other German shepherd. I highly recommend Austin Dog Culture for any training needs! Less

This is my first time with a dog bred to work and the challenges that came along with it felt extremely overwhelming prior to working virtually with Wensley. She’s taught me how to give my dog a fulfilling life and how to provide the fair and consistent structure he needs to feel confident and happy. Working with Wensley has changed our lives. We looked into several programs before moving forward with Austin Dog culture and we’re so happy we did. The amount of care and time they put into each training session sets them apart. Before we started I was so nervous as to what corrections would look like and now I see how they train the dog in front of them and make appropriate corrections per each dogs temperament. Our fear reactive dog Koa was craving structure and safety which Wensley helped us to implement. He has grown into being a more confident and calm dog through our training sessions. He was reactive on leash to other dogs and reactive to new people. Now he is no longer showing dog reactivity on our walks and making progress on his reactivity to new people at coffee shops. Last night we introduced a new person in our house and it was a night and day difference. By the end of the night, Koa was sitting under the new person seeking pets. I no longer feel the same level of stress when new people will be coming over because I now know how to better set Koa up for success and how to make corrections if he does react. At the end of training, Wensley has left us with many ideas to continue his training and help him continue to progress. We will be forever grateful to Wensley and Austin Dog Culture as we continue to implement the tools we’ve learned to help Koa be the best version of himself. Less

I can honestly say that my experience with Austin Dog Culture was life changing! I have a 1 yr old German Shepherd Dog who was high strung, barking at everyone, and lunging at other dogs. I have had dogs my whole life and have 3 other rescue GSD currently. When he barked and growled at a little girl at the vet's office, I knew I needed help. That's where Clayton from ADC comes in. We did 4 weeks of training with Clayton and both Koda and I learned a lot. Clayton spent time getting to know Koda before determining a training plan. The result has been a total transformation that I will continue building upon with what Clayton taught me. The great thing about Clayton and Wensley's approach vs "board and train" is (1) you don't miss a month of your dog's life (2) less expensive and (3) you get feedback and homework every day so you can learn along side your dog. With board and train, you get maybe a couple hours at the end and then you are on your own. The training only sticks if you put in the effort to maintain it because there's no magic fairy dust here. It's clear how much Clayton loves dogs and understands them. He was also kind enough to share observations and tips about my other dogs that helped me correct some challenging behaviors I thought I had to live with since they are rescues. This was truly one of the best investments I have ever made and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Clayton made me a better pup parent and my Koda is now officially a very good boy. I'm forever grateful! Less

What I loved about the program from the get-go, is that there isn't just one training method applied to all dogs. Clayton and Wensley truly go out of their way to understand each dog, and make sure the approach is what will work for the dog and their owners. Wensley was our trainer, and she has been absolutely incredible. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe her dedication. She has answered every single one of our questions, and made sure every step of the way we understood what we needed to do to see the results we were looking for with our pup. Our dog is a mutt with a mix of guardian, herding, and sporting breeds, and has no obvious external motivators (including food), which had proven to be a challenge for us when it came to continuing his training on our own. Wensley has SO much knowledge into each breed's unique traits, and she found exactly what worked to help him improve his listening skills, manners, and most importantly, RECALL. Most importantly, she really helped us to learn what we needed to do to see the results we were looking for. Owner education is probably the most important piece of training, and Wensley really helped us to learn so much about tools, behaviors, and practices to work with our pup. Literally everyone who has visited us has commented on how they have seen improvement in our dog's manners and listening in such a short period of time. He will even follow direction from my 3 year old! Most importantly, Wensley helped us learn the skills necessary to keep up with the training even after the program has ended. Ten stars. Will recommend to everyone, hands down. Less

Loosing both of his companion dogs, dealing with the California fire evacuations and dealing with his owner healing from hip surgery to packing up and moving to Texas including the drive to our new home left him a shy and unsure of the outside world. Being shy to start with from the litter I saw in Gally his quick recovery time and underlining sweet personality. Once we were settled was time to get him the help he needed which was aimed towards a behaviorist, this is when I got connected to Austin Dog Culture with Wensley and Clayton. Wensley is a total dear Their introduction four week course with daily lessons was just the ticket. Starting slow to get to know both Gally and me was a great start. Growing with his exposure training at Gally’s pace and explaining all as we progressed and changing some of my past training habits to fit a dog like Gally was incredibly. Wensley is always open to answering questions, repeating what I wasn’t catching onto and giving examples which is very helpful for me. Not only have I seen such an improvement but others have raved above his improvement. I have chosen to do some continued training to help guide both of us for whatever we may face in the future. Less

My dog Owen and I had the privilege to work with Wensley these past 4 weeks and the amount of progression I’ve seen in Owen is astounding. He has gotten more confident, he’s gotten more focused, and he’s gotten more loveable. What used to be hectic walks and him pulling all the time is now replaced with him loose leash walking and making walking fun again. He’s also learned so many other things to help him with his impulse control which will make it a breeze to take him into the office. His recall is now astounding with the tools that Wensley has equipped us with. Wensley curbed all my fears of what off leash could look like with him and I’m blown away. If you’re in-between a board and train or the 4 week program from Austin Dog Culture, choose Austin Dog Culture. You’ll learn more about yourself and strengthen the relationship with your dog. When I say I’ve found my dog trainers for life, they are that good. Thank you Wensley and Clayton for being amazing trainers and truly loving what you do. When finding a trainer for our two dogs, we really were not sure what to expect. We interviewed a few people in the Austin area and after speaking with Clayton, we knew his program (daily at your own home) was the route we wanted to go! Clayton first did a month-long training session for our Vizsla, who is painfully shy. He spent the first few days just letting her get warmed up to him. He tailored her training sessions to have more positive reinforcement and took things slow based on her personality. Following that, we did a second month-long training program with our English Bulldog, who is basically a bull in a china shop. Clayton was again able to tailor his training sessions with a bit more stern corrections and structure to match his personality type. Seeing how Clayton could easily navigate between two completely different dogs and tailor his training based on the dog in front of him was really impressive. Clayton communicated expectations clearly from the start and we walked away with dogs that now have a few really solid commands (Sit, Down, Place/Stay, Come) and can walk well on the leash. We now have the tools necessary to continue reinforcing these behaviors long after the training has ended. When our two months of training came to an end, we were genuinely so sad for it to be over! Clayton is an extremely hard worker, an expert in this field, and really takes the time to understand your goals. We miss our daily morning routine of coffee and dog training with Clayton! We will absolutely be using him for one-off sessions in the future and would highly recommend him for anyone wanting help with their dog(s). **Photos by Clayton** Less
