I can’t say enough good things about this karate studio! The owner (Mr. Baker) and instructors are amazing. They are great with the kids and really know how to keep them engaged. In addition to the (mixed) martial arts (karate, muay-thai, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu; he teaches life skills and self-improvement such as respect, discipline, and perseverance, which has already positively impacted my kids' lives. My daughter and several of her friends have been going to Scholars Academy for almost a year now, and they all love it.. They've gained a lot of strength, endurance, determination, and confidence. They are also learning respect and responsibility each class. It's a fun and energetic environment. My daughter and I enjoy the family kickboxing classes. They organize entertaining activities outside of class and have several types and levels of competition tournaments. The kids here move with skill and force. Scholars Academy has been a godsend for our two boys throughout this last year. We joined when they re-opened early 2021 and are so glad we did! This has been a safe, positive and healthy outlet for the kids to come to and I really feel it has helped them deal with all the emotions they've been experiencing lately. They are able to productively release any stress through the more physical aspects of the sport, as well as learn valuable skills like meditation and form which teach them to control themselves at the same time. It's a great balance and exactly what they have needed during these times. We are looking forward to the Student Community Center opening in the near future and can't wait to see what other greatness that brings! Less

I have been to a couple of dojos in the bay area and this is by far the best one. I enrolled my 2 boys (a tween and a teen) and they ABSOLUTELY love it. Mr. Baker provides them with the fundamentals for their physical, mental and personal growth. The kids are taught to make their parents proud and be good kids all-around. The training is good enough to get them in great shape while focusing on agility and the form. Mrs. Baker is as wonderful as her husband so are their kids, all attending, the classes. The customer service and professionalism are top of the notch. The facility is well-detailed and very clean. They sanitize the place daily and regularly, and are highly compliant re: COVID-19 safety measures. How am I just discovering this place is my question? Scholars Academy is a great place to get kids out of the house and get involved in something other than a TV screen. The kids have tons of fun in class while also learning discipline. Everyone there are super nice and welcoming. It’s so much more than learning how to kick and punch. The kids learn how to defend themselves while also learning how to become better people.
