I could never say enough good things about the foundation I received at the Freedom School over 20 years ago. The lessons I learned there have been valuable throughout my life, they aren't kidding when they say it's not just kicking and punching. My time there inspired me to pass on a love of martial arts to my son and daughter who have just started their own journeys. Since joining freedom school I have leveled up at least 100 times!! On a more serious note the instruction is awesome and I learn a lot in every class. The workout during reach class is challenging and rewarding. If you want to work on your fitness, self defense and confidence and have fun while you do it then I recommend freedom school. My daughter takes classes as well and she is learning a lot. She loves class and I love what she is learning. Less

Chief Kurt and the Freedom School instructors genuinely wants their students to succeed! His well balanced program includes not only self defense, but great life advice as well. The school is not high pressure for competing/tournaments and allows students of all ages and abilities to proceed at their own comfort level. My daughter started when she was 8 is doing well with the combination of physical and mental discipline. Chief is an amazing example of Christian leadership and morals, and of course MAJOR martial arts skill (he is a nationally ranked competitor). I can’t say enough positive words about The Freedom School and “Chief”Frankenberg. My parents enrolled me in his school at the beginning of 4th grade and I can say the discipline, training and morals instilled in me have been overwhelmingly positive in every aspect of my adult life. I’m now in my early 40s and have re-enrolled along with my 8 year old son and I can say that decision is one of the best I’ve ever made. The instructors are attentive and easily approachable, but make no mistake this is not a daycare or fun camp. They are very serious about what they are teaching and you will learn practical and effective self defense techniques from multiple martial art styles. So whether you’re a parent seeking an opportunity to instill discipline in your child, an adult seeking to train to be a well rounded protector, or an alternative way to get into great shape or all three, you’d be hard pressed to find a better option. I cannot say enough good things about this school. First of all, the sensei (teacher) Chief Kurt inculcates the right values and philosophies about martial arts from day 1. Students learn immediately that the discipline is for defense and not for offensive purposes. He is full of aloha and kindness for everyone that every student there feels safe and validated and respected, therefore facilitating good fellowship between everybody. He is non threatening and employs good humor while teaching. The helping teachers/assistants to the chief are also very knowledgeable, professional and kind. I have a 9 year old. He absolutely loves Freedom School of Martial Arts and looks forward to going to class. All the instructors are amazing! My favorite parts are the encouragement to do your best, be respectful and kind, and with that the kids are taught how to look someone in the eye and give a respectful handshake. We moved here from CA 2+yrs ago after doing karate at a local dojo for 3yrs that we really loved. We checked out several different places in surrounding area and it was an immediate yes when we came to a class here. They have a great balance of discipline AND fun. We did the trial $17 (2) classes including uniform and loved the instructors. They are all really great with the kids. We love Jake, Sam and Chief (who owns FSMMA). We've had such an amazing experience at the Freedom School. The instructors are ALL awesome. At times when my son was struggling, Chief Frankenberg pulled him aside and individually instructed him. He gave my son some incredible confidence. I love how everyone, students and instructors, all work together. I love how everybody celebrates even one small accomplishment. The atmosphere is incredibly positive and encouraging. I love that they take the time to teach in ways everyone can learn, and take special time to help those who may be struggling. Mr. Frankenberg and his staff are the best of the best!! His group of instructors not only show the professionalism that you would expect, but they are great role models for the kids AND adults. They make learning fun and work with all of the students individually to help them though so they can all mesh as one! Mr. Frankenberg himself, what can you say about someone that loves what he does... It shows through in all he does. He Honestly cares for each and everyone that comes though that door and you know it!!
