I was a little nervous to join a new gym where I didn’t know anyone, but there was no reason to be! Everyone at the SHAC is welcoming and encouraging. The coaches are so knowledgeable and happy to help you adjust the workouts to your individual abilities. I am so happy I joined this community!
My husband and I travel to different areas for a few months at a time and decided to try the SHAC during our time in Tampa. The SHAC is a wonderful place to get in shape as well as meet some pretty amazing people and coaches! Great equipment, great layout and spacing of equipment.
Supper awesome community of people motivating each other to improve overall health. The facility is clean, well organized, and the equipment is top notch. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for all levels of fitness.

I love this gym! I let my older kids sometimes relax in the lounge when I’m doing class on Saturday morning and I love the lunch hour classes which are perfectly timed to have a quick shower after and get back to your desk :-) especially for those of us who have a lot of WFH zoom life and need a little break. Upon attending my first week for free, each coach and members were approachable and kind. I signed up and enjoyed the options such as rowing classes and a class called Shac 40. That class routine programs includes body weight or dumbbells. I enjoy the various classes and options a person has and the times they are being offered.
I love the SHAC! The owner and all the coaches are welcoming and encouraging. The community is great, the equipment is nice and clean and there’s a friendly cat. What more could you ask for?

I’ve been going to the SHAC since moving to Tampa in 2018 and I greatly appreciate the deep sense of community and positivity they foster. After doing online porch workouts with me during the Covid lockdown, my wife switched her gym membership and has thoroughly enjoyed it as well. It is a great place to meet neighbors, make friends and work on a stronger healthier you.

The SHAC is the best! Everyone there makes me feel so welcome. The helpful coaches explain the exercises in a simple way, are always there to guide me on my form, and are super encouraging. The SHAC has everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes, but everyone is supported in their own goals. Highly recommend!

A REAL NEIGHBORHOOD GYM I have lived in SESH for over 30 years and have always wanted a gym that I could walk, ride my bike to. Now I finally have one! I absolutely LOVE this gym!! I do the SHAC40 class at noon with KK and it never disappoints. I have seen an increase in muscle mass and endurance in a very short period of time. When you walk into the gym you feel like family. I have made new friends and there is a real sense of community here. Highly recommend!!!
Absolutely the best gym experience I’ve ever had! The instructors are knowledgeable and supportive and can adjust the work to accommodate everyone from beginners to the superfit wanting a challenge. In a nutshell, at SHAC, you get a great workout alongside a wonderful group of people.

I love this place! It’s more than a gym, it’s the center of my community. The coaches care about helping you improve without just hitting metrics. Think group weightlifting classes with an emphasis on form and technique. I’m an ocr athlete and I entrust my training to Coach KK. With her help I’ve come in 4th place in savage waves open division. I can jump higher, run faster and am all around more fit. The Shac is a great gym but it’s so much more than that.

The SHAC is my morning routine, spent with friendly members and the owner Karen. We all have different reasons to be there but the process is customized and collective. I feel good at this gym and afterwards too. Very grateful for this gym and the members who make it!
This gym has a great community feel and a wide variety of class types and times. I’ve greatly enjoyed being able to attend the noon 40 minute class and the evening hour long classes.
Best gym in Tampa! I joined in 2021 and only wish I would have found this place earlier. Great atmosphere and crowd. Coaches are super helpful and willing to answer my hundreds of questions on exercises. The workouts are never the same and always challenging. 👊🏻

It can be a super intimidating experience to join a gym when you've never really ever lifted before. I checked out the SHAC after I moved to Seminole Heights, and even though I wasn't really sure what to expect workout wise, the reviews and facebook page let me know I was going to feel comfortable walking in with no experience. I can now confidently say that the SHAC is for everyone. I have never felt pressured or stressed in class, and when I'm trying a move I've never done before Karen is always right there, extremely patiently, walking me through it. Everyone is incredibly friendly and are genuinely happy to have new people in class. Everyone has their own pace and goals and my personal preferences are always respected while I'm still challenged to improve and try new things. While wanting to gain strength I personally don't want to be super ripped, I'm really loving the changes in my physique and how I feel after incorporating these workouts into my routine. I want to share my personal experience with the SHAC (Seminole Heights Athletic Center). In January of this year, I was on the verge of diabetes (A1C=6.2), my fasting glucose was 116 and my cholesterol levels were 231 and that's while taking 40mg of Lipitor daily. When I wandered into the SHAC, I knew nothing about it. I just knew I needed a change and it was close to my house. Karen (head coach and owner) offered a week trial so I had nothing to lose, right. The experience has been absolutely amazing and continues to be so today. I was surprised at the level of personal attention. Every workout is guided and quite challenging, but the coaches are always there with encouragement, instruction or scaling to fit my ability. I also found an inviting and supportive community of others that I didn't expect to find. I expected the other members to be judgemental, but they weren't. The members are positive and encouraging. It's unbelievable how good it feels to get a simple "like" for your efforts on the SHAC's communities whiteboard. Everyone knows how hard you're trying and they often take the time to tell you they think you're doing a good job. It's really is a safe and inviting place to get healthier. Seven months later, my A1C=5.3, my glucose is 89 and my cholesterol is 167. I'm healthier and I have new friends. The SHAC actually changed my life. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a real way to get healthier and happier especially if you are like me and really don't know what to do or have tried un-successively on your own. Coach Karen says the SHAC is a time machine, and I guess in a way it really is. If you happen to already be a superhuman gym rat, they'll scale it for your too. Less

First sesh this morning and Karen didn't take it easy on me... and I love her for it. If you are serious about your fitness and want passionate trainers to push you - The SHAC is the right place for you. Small classes which allows the instructors to focus on your goals while making safety and form a priority. I'm hooked. Come check it out!!!!
I am a recovering back surgery patient with a herniated disc. To say going to the gym is scary would be an understatement. Karen and Marlo have brought me in and modified the workouts to help me build my core strength to relieve me of pain. Workouts are hard but so worth it. I'm forever grateful.
Having major back surgery the thought of going to the gym scares me. Going to a big gym and working by myself I was always worried I would do more damage. Got brought into SHAC by a friend and my mind was set. This is the place for me. Karen has taken me under her wing and modified the workouts to better suit me and my medical issues and I can't thank her enough. Love the SHAC.

Great coaches! If you want an overall workout that is challenging and never the same workout everyday. This is the place to be! Perfect for all level of fitness. A lot modifications if you have past injuries. These coaches are amazing! Very motivating.
